Lesbians have different tastes than straight men as a whole so I would disagree with this assessment. Speaking as someone who's been hardcore into yuri for some time now, there's a big difference, for example, for yuri aimed at men and yuri aimed at women. You wouldn't catch the average lesbian reading something like YuruYuri (which was published in an offshoot of Comic Yuri Hime, Comic Yuri Hime S, aimed at male readers). If lesbian women had the exact same tastes as straight men, then games like Blue Archive would have a substantial lesbian playerbase. I've seen female players for these games, but they really are very rare.

Kirishima can sort of corroborate here with his own experiences. He's a gay man and isn't always into fanservice aimed at women. It's the same thing.

I feel like Firefly is a bit of an outlier even compared to her fellow girls. The narrative pulls at as many heartstrings as possible for you while insisting you're close, she's afforded a goodbye scene along with Kafka in the dream in the last patch, Silverwolf straight up makes jokes about your pull game in regards to her. I can't think of a single other girl in Genshin or star rail that has gotten this treatment.

I hope the old character buff is actually something more like the Euphoria system from Reverse 1999, but I'd take FGO-style buffs as well. From what I hear from sketchy leaks and rumors, what hoyo is going to do actually seems to be much worse than that.

Instead of direct buffs, they're just going to put old units in Standard Banner, and give ""free"" eidolons to make them ""stronger""

Done with 3.1 story. It was better paced and presented than 3.0 so good job. Not much else to say since the characters are still developing (yes Mydei got his big arc done but he'll be back for more). The furry event is pretty fast and nice. I still don't like puzzles but since this time they are not intrusive I'll let it slide.

From my perspective, giving Firefly a close relationship with the MC is a double-edged sword because it's a narrative thread they can never really drop now but obviously will never go nowhere for a very long time. Using Kafka for example, she’s similarly an important person to the MC, but our last personal interaction with her was all the way back at the Loufu. Now, Firefly exists in a similar state where the writers are obligated to periodically reinforce their special connection even though they can't meet each other. By framing her bond with the MC as something personal, the writers have put themselves in a position where they need to continually reinforce that connection. So now it's necessary for the story to dedicate scenes where they interact on-screen to showcase their special bond such as the goodbye memory with Kafka and Firefly in Amphoreus, or otherwise players will start questioning what the point of all it was.

That's an old, old Hoyoverse classic.

Hoyo devs are probably like "guys, we want a new gameplay style/event so this chapter doesn't get stale", and they just ask around the office for whichever games the nerdiest dudes in the office have been hooked on. Chapter 7 of HI3 was a bullet hell shmup. Sim U's prototype started its life as "We all really liked Hades, so we put Hades in HI3", and we ended up with a gamemode for chatting with ancient demigods about their ancient war between ridiculously broken roguelite runs. Just in HI3 alone we've had plants vs zombies, Bejeweled, Pokemon, Slay the Spire, Balatro, Temple Run, and a bajilion others and that game tends to end up a testing ground for whatever they want to polish up and put into the newer ones.

Anaxa looks like he'll be a really solid Sub DPS that can be comfortably played as a hypercarry as well, and his e1 and e2 seem like they'll further enhance his sub dps role (specially if you're like me and have e1 tribbie)

This does, however, make me wonder what the purpose of Jade as a playable character is at this point.
