I've been playing since the first month of the game, but the mixture of English VA drama, minimal interest in Tribbie/Mydei, and concerns with story pacing (the story itself isn't bad, but most dialogue feels like it's 2-3 times longer than it needs to be) meant that I held off on doing the 3.1 story until today. Just got to the Grove; I'm hoping that Anaxa (both in gameplay and lore) is enough to reinvigorate my interest.
If not... at least Divergent Universe is still fun.
The preload is up, I like that they managed to compress down the file size of each update, without having to re download the whole game.
Holy Shit, wasn't expecting that Castorice video popup after opening the game up. Is that new? They're pushing her like crazy.

The same way they pushed Miyabi in ZZZ, yes.
Tho it is perfectly justified in Miyabi's case since she was the most hyped character in that game since launch. Castorice's case is a lot more artificial hype.

Got Castorice E1, lightcone and Fugue within 150 pulls. Super win frankly.
And with Fugue I can replace Hat MC in FF team and transfer the girl to Cas team

I lost the 50/50, but not only was it to an E1 Bronya, but it was early, at around 40 pulls. So though I had to hit pity again, at least it's not as bad as full pity twice, and I got Castorice at around 70 rolls.
I had to do a bit of the 3.2 story as well as the Star Rail WORLD mini game to get the little bit of ten-rolls needed, but I got her!
...unfortunately for me not a SINGLE gallagher copy.

Lots of Lynx (ended up E6...) and a couple Pelas (previously E5, now E6), but NO GALLAGHER. AAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHH.

The floors leading to it were fine. If not easy. Helped by the fact Hoolay is one of the bosses and I got Feixiao team with premium teammates.
But 12...
DAMN.
Before Castorice, I couldn't even survive the second phase most of the time. My best attempt was 6 cycles with Feixiao-Tribbie-Robin-Aventurine but that had been extremely lucky because attempts to recreate that ended very poorly. I just couldn't time beating a lot of clones for that big attack consistently.
Now with Castorice though...
STILL BARELY MAKE IT.
If I'm lucky and/or smart about it, my team of Cas-Tribbie-RMC-Lingsha can beat Flame Reaver in 4 cycles...BUT FEIXIAO TEAM NEEDS 7 BECAUSE THOSE DAMN HORSES AND LION ARE SO GODDAMN ANNOYING. GAAAAAAAAAH.
Maybe I need to switch out Topaz with March...but I've SEEN it be possible with Topaz...but then again those either have S1 for Feixiao and/or Robin, or E1 Robin. ...or maybe I just need to aim for the horse first in the first wave...

Doesn't help the relics for Cas, RMC, Tribbie and Lingsha are subpar as far as I'm concerned...especially RMC. Mine is stuck at 128 speed and I was an idiot who didn't read the effect of the Remembrance LC in the Herta shop and instead got the Nihility LC for Jiaoqiu for Pure Fiction... Meanwhile best I coule cobble together for a speedy Lingsha is 2pc Messenger 2pc Sacerdos for 143 speed...
But whatever. I'm still gonna experiment.

Because you tried using her against bazillion HP lightning resist Kafka?
I have no idea what am I supposed to do with Castorice's gameplay loop. The dragon leave so fast.
Also watched a guide that says Gallagher is better than Lingsha for her but so far, I have better experience with Lingsha than Gallagher. Perhaps if Galla isn't optimised enough Lingsha is generally better for her.

Testing E1S1 Castorice. Got 1 cycle vs Flame Reaver. Probably can 0 cycle that side if I got E2 or went with DDD Tribbie instead of their sig LC.
Also enemies not wanting to take turns on both sides (like Nikador and Reaver summoning adds then sit there chilling for a bit) are making Jiaoqiu less effective. Perhaps Cipher is there to cover these situations instead.

Gallagher is better because he lets you heal while attacking, which can get you overflow healing to charge Castorice's ult really often, same with Luocha.
Unless you have E2 to fast charge energy back, the dragon only have 3 turns to attack at all time. On the 3rd turn it will explode regardless of its remaining HP, meaning Sundae will just make it explode faster.
So the play is to make sure you time its explosion to take out the whole enemy line then charge Castorice's HP again by healing/overhealing with your healers. So even if the healing can be lower, if it happens more often then she will get more energy.

she isn't great either half. It's not like she's mopping the floor in previous mocs either though, just doing fine at most.
I'm at the point in the story where Anaxa meets with the council of elders.
Awww, they covered up Phainon using profanity here. He says 該死 (gāi sǐ/should die) here, or "damn it" in this context.
Ceres also drops a lot of 啊呀's (ā yā) in her speech. Any character who does that is top-tier.
