Great. He got out of that mess with the body, hopefully. And it seemed like they had golems to stop the fire so no real harm done! Progress. His clothes did smell a bit like smoke, but that was explainable. When he met that three-eyed girl, he would be billing her for a new coat.

“W-Wha…. LYN! This is exactly what you were supposed to stop them from doing!”
Oh, it was that idiot again.

"It's not my fault, they ran off without me!"

He said without knowing what they were doing.

But then he saw that his students were fighting gangsters and there was an awful scent coming from them? Should he step in? If they died, that would be problematic, and besides a chaperone should defend his children from hooligans. It was practically in the job description. He broke off into more of a jog and gave the kids a quizzical and moderately angry look. They were now seeing displeased Lyn. Something which was highly atypical from how they had seen the Professor before. Just the tone shift would be enough to stress them a bit.

"Just what in the holy name of God do you think you are doing?"

Nothing about this situation was ideal.

Alina was currently jacked into a man whom Owen had just ascertained was armed, the man’s nervous system literally in the palm of the alchemist’s hand. While any considerations of Atlas knowledge and skill were definitely beyond Owen’s personal understanding outside of the absolute basics, it was already abundantly clear applying anything of the sort to a…whimsical character like Alina was a useless endeavor.

Farrah, ever the practical one, looked to be abandoning the situation. Owen couldn’t blame her, but a passing thought intruded as he watched her scurry the other direction: Wouldn’t these guys associate her with the rest of the group? If that was the case, running away seemed pretty silly.

    Silly, yet perfectly reasonable.

“That…seems like a really big gamble.”

One that they didn’t have to take in the first place. There would be time to be cross with Alina later, right now the situation couldn’t very well be ignored for much longer.

As Owen racked his brains as quickly as he could, shouting and the smell of smoke finally reached him from further down the road.

    No. No no no no.

Damn it, he wanted to be anywhere else right now.

    Anyone else right now.

The rush of Owen's own blood pounded in his ears, his heart rate skyrocketing in tandem with the coming climax to the action he could barely sense around the corner. Nervous fingers twitched at his side, before dipping into his backpack to pull out what looked to be a butterfly knife. Turning to Wagner, Owen's mumbled a directive under his breath.

"Sorry. Can you bring that other guy back?"

Farrah fixed Lyn with her most disparaging glare. Admittedly, it was a little pouty and not all that intimidating but she could more than make up for that with her tone. They’d gotten sidetracked twice, Alina had provoked dangerous people, and now their so-called chaperone showed up out of nowhere, carrying a corpse! She’d had enough of this. Would it kill these people to show a semblance of professionalism?! Even if they did, it was a little late for that. She was already livid.

“And exactly where the hell have you been?!” she shrieked, storming over to him and demonstrating that she was more than capable of looking down at a person taller than her. “You just up and vanished on us when you’re the one who’s supposed to be keeping us in line. I’ll admit, you didn’t inspire much confidence to begin with, so I wasn’t expecting much, but my god, you’ve failed to come anywhere close to my most minimal expectations. Congratulations, sir. You want to discipline us? Go ahead and try. I played no part in this, but even if I had, you are the last person with any right to chew us out for this. For heaven’s sake, you’re the one who ran off to go start a freaking fire! I don’t know about the rest of you, but I started smelling smoke a few minutes after you ditched us!

”This would almost be hilarious if I didn’t actually have a serious reason for being down here, but unfortunately for everyone involved, I’m trying to help a friend, and I’m not going to take your bullshit on top of everyone else’s when you’re easily the least responsible person here. And yes, Alina just provoked a bunch of thugs like a complete idiot, but at least she didn’t go and start destroying mysteries before we’ve even had a chance to leave town!”

An idea took form in her head, and while she had her doubts as to its efficacy, she sure would feel better for doing it.

”You know what? I have a better idea. I might be a student, but seeing your brain is clearly a purely cosmetic feature of your body, I’ll make you a deal: I’ll be taking over as chaperone, since I’m obviously less likely to run off and commit crimes than you are. I’m going to report your spectacular, gross impertinence to Lord Tindal, and you, Lynhammer, are going to thank me for this. And in exchange, I won’t hand you over to the Church the minute we encounter them in exchange for not killing the rest of us.

”Yeah, didn’t you know? They’re sent people down here, too. Don’t ask me how, my friend and I don’t share secrets. I’d take my deal if I were you. I am in no mood for making an even bigger mess. And don’t you dare try and ‘help’ Alina, either. She might not think things through, but I’d rather you didn’t dramatically lower her life expectancy with whatever you’ve convinced yourself is a good idea.’

“Huh! B-Boss! Sir- You gotta understand!”
The man in front of you practically recoiled as the hallucination was forced into his sight. Mental interference like this was one which required high fidelity to ensure the afflicted does not catch wind of the trick, but in at least in this case the vision was worked into their world seamlessly. However, the nature of such an illusion was one left entirely to the perception of the individual. Especially in the case of representing a man you knew very little of.

The two man reacted with a similar level of fear and embarrassment, but there was enough desync in their actions that it was clear they weren’t having a shared illusion. The one who fled fell over at the sight and was trying to explain himself, but the words of the man who drew his gun at you was of far more interest.

“These aren’t just some normal group! They’ve fucked with our bodies! I worry sir! I pray sir! Grant me the strength of a higher access key!”

    Elyra Reissford, Thekla Holzknecht
    Phase 1
Day 1 - Afternoon (New Moon)
    Western Slums - Foggy Backstreet

For the shambling corpses wandering these misty streets, there was barely a chance their instincts could respond in time to your group's surprise attack. The first corpse targeted had barely two seconds of awareness before it severed into pieces. In one second, it’s decrepit muscles instinctively recoiled with an instinctual fear as something incomprehensibly holy was unsheathed nearby. In another, it felt a presence behind it and tried to move out of the way. Though a supernaturally enhanced beast that could keep up with even the most athletic of humans, that strength was but the slow and feeble struggle of a worm compared to the heights an executor could reach.

In one single motion the corpse was extinguished. Its body was so deteriorated that even this casual first strike was enough for it to cease all functions. The second of The Dead was grazed in the after shock of the swing, recoiling from the strike. It did not feel pain so even when wounded it did not hesitate to instantly begin the hunt. A single remaining eyeball twitched as it locked onto the executor who had approached it, ready to carry out its programing in a hunt for blood.

Yet this filthy abomination was still operating within the speed of humans. By the time it even perceived you and snarled, you had already outpaced the beast several times over and left its range, leaving it to stare up at you through the thick fog on its lonesome.

    Elyra Reissford
    Phase 1
Day 1 - Afternoon (New Moon)
    Western Slums - Foggy Backstreet

Sure enough Thekla made her move shortly after Elyra dispatched the first Corpse in front of her. With a daring maneuver Thekla crashed through the roof of the dilapidated structure housing the large Ghoul. While she didn’t have a clear line of sight on the action, she could see the flash of light caused by Thekla’s Holy Sacraments. Undoubtedly the Ghoul was being dealt with per their plan.

Elyra estimated that it wouldn’t take much longer for her to deal with the second Corpse either. Taking that into account, she jumped forward to position herself in a location where she could better support Thekla, abandoning the high ground advantage. Her initiative was rewarded when moments later the Ghoul came stumbling out of the building with a loud crash. Due to a combination of its size and the building's disrepair, it ended up taking the building down as it moved.

The grotesque malformed caterpillar-like beast was much larger and sturdier than the Corpses. It seemed to be comparable to a large car or a truck. Nonetheless it showed signs of extreme damage, likely due to Thekla’s assault. It was burned badly enough that even Elyra could smell the stench of its rotting and melting flesh.

Without turning around, Elyra flicked her wrist and sent out another Mana-Thread behind her at the remaining Corpse. The impossibly sharp micro-filament sailed through the air, slicing through its arm and dismembering it. With a fatal wound like that, the Corpse’s combat power would be reduced to a negligible level.
In the next moment Thekla appeared charging at the Ghoul, the collapsed building not hindering her in the least. She performed a set of superbly executed slashes, one horizontal and one vertical, the stance reminiscent of a holy cross. The technique utilized both the kinetic energy of her twin blades as well as holy power imbued within, dealing the Ghoul a devastating blow. Elyra took a second to analyze the scene before her.

“So this is the Church’s ‘Saint of Killers’”

The one armed Corpse took this chance to shamble up from behind Elyra to make a strike at her with its remaining limb, but this too ended up being a mistake. A predictable attack made from a poorly positioned stance was basically an invitation to counter. Elyra spun and parried the blow with her left arm, then followed through with a powerful kick that slammed the Corpse all the way back into the wall of the building behind her. Given the distance and the remaining durability of the Corpse, there was no need to even check its status.

    “Target Eliminated. One remaining.”

Elyra didn’t know if the Ghoul was capable of cognition or fear, but it promptly turned 180 degrees and moved to strike at Thekla once more. The large beast was clearly worse for wear, but made no attempt to flee. It looked to be in great pain simply from moving its ruined and burnt body. Perhaps it knew that it could not escape and instead attempted to do as much damage as possible before expiring?

Elyra was about to pursue the creature when she noticed something amiss. Due to the large lacerations inflicted upon it by Thekla’s blades, it was leaking a copious amount of nutrient fluids. Said fluids began to eat into the dirt and buildings around it as soon as it made contact. In other words, Acid Blood. If that wasn’t enough, it seemed like the creature’s heart pumped blood at an extremely high pressure. The acid ended up splashing to areas as far as 6 meters around it. She sent Thekla a quick warning through the Wire-Tap Thread that connected them.

“Watch out, its blood is acidic.”

Though given the Saint’s experience in combat she doubted such a warning was necessary. Elyra knew her alarm was more a result of her own anxieties surfacing than anything else. What kind of creature would evolve to use acidic nutrient fluid!? Well, that was the wrong question as it clearly wasn’t the product of evolution. It might not even need those fluids to survive. She could be looking at a thorns-type defensive modification that only appeared to be blood.

Elyra hesitated for only a moment before she moved to get back into range. With a sudden burst of movement that was uncharacteristic of its size, the Ghoul shot forward with its jaws open, aiming to catch Thekla in them and inject her full of venom. The Saint of Killers was ready for this and deflected the fangs with her swords, warding off the slobbering mouth full of acidic teeth. As the Ghoul was knocked aside Thekla burned it again with a Holy Sacrament.

It was time to finish this. The Acidic Blood was a potent threat, but it was relatively easy to avoid, especially for someone with her level of speed. It would be foolish to lose the initiative and positional advantage she and Thekla had at the moment. Elyra changed her approach to her next strike. Rather than using another slicing attack that could potentially scatter acidic fluids everywhere, Elyra formed a bundle of Mana-Threads into a sharp mass and propelled it forward. The attack pierced deep into the Ghoul, leaving a sharp and calculated puncture wound. She could sense that the Ghoul’s vitality was fading. It had inordinate mass, but that alone was not an inherent advantage. Elyra stepped back once more to allow Thekla the chance to deliver the coup de grâce.

With one final desperate lunge, the caterpillar Ghoul threw itself at Thekla. Its last futile attack yielded no results. A Ghoul may be stronger than 99% of mundane humans, but it was completely outclassed by Thekla, an Executor revered for her power even among the top class killers of the Church. Turning its own attack against it, Thekla smoothly parried the creature before striking it down.

In the end it was a flawless victory with minimal resource expenditure. If Elyra was a battle junkie she might call this an ideal result. Though she didn’t take any particular joy from this moment. Combat was a necessary risk at times, and its outcomes were dictated by calculations and physical specifications. While she did enjoy competition and the chance to display her prowesses, the enemies they faced down were simply a Vampire’s fodder. It would be more surprising if they took any significant damage from the encounter. She turned to her companion to check her condition.

“Thekla, are you alright? That seems like the last of them in this area.” Elyra didn’t see her take any hits but it was polite to ask. However….

It was more important to question the greater implications of Corpses and Ghouls strolling around Magisfair. Such creatures do not operate autonomously. They now had confirmation that a greater threat loomed over them.

“If there are Corpses and Ghouls here that means one thing. Dead Apostles.”

It seems everyone has a piece or ten to says, and she sure some unkind words has been thrown at her. She can't really tell what they are saying when everyone are talking at the same time, and she is currently concentrating to fix her mistake. She vaguely heard something about leadership dispute with Lyn, but if she cares about something like that, she wouldn't be in London in the first place.

What is important right now is her hallucination is a success.

The guy with a gun blurted out interesting things like 'higher access keys' in the heat of his anger. As expected (no, Alina, don't lie), it's easier to extract information from agitated people.

(From the context of the current situation, it seems these 'access keys' of theirs can help them in battle... somekind of a limiter magecraft?)

So she once again resume her one man's opera, and use her Etherlite to continue the script called 'scary Urizen and his smelly underlings.'

"You want to use the higher access key for something like this? Do you even remember why we give those to you?"

So 'Urizen' says directly to their brain.

”You know what? I have a better idea. Lyn listened to her tirade with a growing sense of disquiet and annoyance at the child's ultimatum. After she seemed to have finished and waited for a response, he went for the simplest way to get her to shut up. The way they disciplined children back in the olden days. He backhanded her across the face.

"And just who, my dear child, do you think you are to be giving me demands and threats? Hmm? You are a spoiled brat out on a lark. I am here to keep you safe as a chaperone. If you don't like the way I have been teaching you, that is all right. But you will not raise your voice at me. You will not threaten me. I'm too old to take that kind of behavior from kids like you. But I understand that you are under stress, so I'll give you another chance. Apologize now and we'll say that the unpleasantness that just occurred is all taken care of. All right?"

This man was clearly out of his mind. She gingerly prodded at the stinging mark on her face. Farrah couldn’t contain all this frustration anymore, and at this point, whatever happened to this so-called professor was going to be his own fault. But she sure as hell wasn’t going to give him the satisfaction of seeing the tears he slapped onto her face. She wiped her eyes with her thumb and forefinger and pinched the bridge of her nose.

”Apologize? To you? Maybe you just think we’re all too irrepressibly stupid to pick up on your smug behavior and your complete disinterest in anything related to what we’re doing, but I’ll have to disabuse you of that. We’ve noticed. Sorry to burst your bubble. Oh, wait, never mind, I’m not sorry at all. In fact, I am delighted.

”You show up late, talk down to us, treat us like idiots, do everything you possibly can to make us distrust you, abandon us, and then – presumably – start a fire and almost certainly destroy priceless Mysteries in the process, then you show up after we’re already in trouble and now you’re demanding respect? How helplessly, self-gratifyingly, unimaginably stupid do you think we are?!” she snarled. “I’d suggest you think very carefully the next time you try and discipline someone for the consequences of your own actions.”

”You’ve already ditched us once, and you’ve actively harmed me, so you’ll have to forgive me if I think you have something that’s… let’s say contrary to our safety in mind. You have taught us nothing. Except maybe that you couldn’t be trusted with so much as a pet rock. Those tend not to die, but I’m sure you’d find a way.

”You’ve done all this. Meanwhile, I’m here, trying to do what we’ve been assigned to do, what I’ve been ordered and threatened to do, and you’re off fucking around! You won’t tolerate any disrespect from me? Well I won’t tolerate any more disrespect from you! I don’t care what you think you’re doing. I don’t care if you don’t even realize you’re doing it. Figure it out, and do it now, because this isn’t a lark, and it’s not a fucking field trip! It’s my friend’s goddamn life, and if you want to jeopardize that because you think we’re all bigger clowns than you, and you think it’ll be funny, then I’ll do whatever I fucking have to! You obviously think the three of us are a big joke, but so help me, if my friend turns up dead because you fuck up the job we’re supposed to be doing here, I will rip you limb from condescending limb right then and there, on the goddamn spot. Now you can pick a fight over this, or you can grow up, and do your fucking job the way it’s supposed to be done! And if you don’t, well, I have someone I promised to protect, and you’ve given me enough of a reason to suspect that you’d be only too happy to be their second-degree murderer.

”You’ve earned nothing but my contempt, sir,” she said injecting as much ‘fuck you’ into that one syllable, “and a whole-goddamn-lot of it. See, I actually have something to lose if I fail here, or, as seems more likely, if you sabotage us. So if you want me to think you’re anything other than a clown, a traitor, or just an asshole so condescending that it overrides even your sense of self-preservation, you’re going to shape up, and do it quick. And if you don’t want me to threaten you, then you’ll have to demonstrate that you’re not the threat to me and the people I care about that you’ve been playing so irreverently!” She glared up at him. Whatever authority he had, it did not place him above ⬜⬜⬜’s life.

Once she saw the weapon, Wagner readied her defenses. It was the kind of technique which required no thought to use besides preparing it, an important form of security In the Department of Lore where even perceiving something wrong means death. The moment that gun was fired or the gangster pulled any tricks she would be able to respond instantly. As the student's current guardian she has been tasked with ensuring the safety of the group with her life. So long as they were there she could not escalate and execute the threats with imposing undesirable risk. Thus, she silently rooted herself in place, observing she always does.

She could hear the others approaching, but so long as they were not here in the moment she wouldn’t falter or budge from her post. Instead, carefully analyzed every move of the man with the gun as they rambled at something unseen like a mad man.

The man seemed startled but he saluted like his life depended on it, clearly reciting something that was beaten into his head without mercy. Lacking context it felt more cryptic than you would like, but what was clear from his words was that they were borrowing their power from somewhere else.

“I’m sure we could both handle this with the rank of Elohim!”

His begging seemed to bend close to prayer, asking a mere illusion for a miracle. But even his desperate focus was drawn away for a moment by further escalation of chaos amongst the group who assaulted them.

Hostile Action Detected: Commencing Defense Protocol #3.

It was a cruel action, but more than that it was a terrible miscalculation. Wagner didn’t have a chance to prevent it for that was how it was designed. Like ripping your hand away from a hot stove, her prepared defense was beyond instinctual, acting even faster the laws of survival encoded into the human. It was meant to react before she could think for her own safety. Yet in the unexpected clash between allies, her careful prep backfired.

The second the slap happened the movement of her limbs instantly followed. With the augmentations made to her body she had a total of four arms and four fists all of which turned upon Professor Lyn in a flurry of blunt violence. Her body twisted towards the target, now out of her control, her punches flying out in a blur that was difficult for a regular person to follow. Lyn seemed to react, twitching to dodge with superhuman speed himself, but not even he could react in time before numerous blows crashed into him in quick succession. It was an event that lasted only a second or two before Wagner could regain conscious control, but even then the preprogrammed technique had already carried itself out to completion.

    “......... My Apologies.”

Wagner took a moment to contemplate, looking at the battered Lyn awkwardly before eeking out an apology.

“Don’t apologize, you saved me the effort!”

The situation only seemed to escalate as Professor Reid tore through the road and crowd alike as he barreled over to the situation in a desperate hurry. He had no understanding of the situation but saw clearly Lyns failings and the dangers of the gangsters. The sight of the colorful butterfly man yelling in the middle of the street brought more stares to the group than anything that had happened thus far. This continued to escalate further and further.

“.... Oh darkened will, may you fulfill your empty heart.”

With the ending whisper of an incantation, the very air of the place. The light of the artificial sun felt as if it had dimmed, light itself faltering in face of what was forming. Perhaps it was an overreaction to go this far, but seeing a gun pointed at a student simply brought about this kind of reaction in him. Wagner would surely criticism him for the overkill. But he wasn’t the kind of man who wanted to always act so carefully when important things were on the line. It wasn't the way of a magus to be so wasteful, but for Reid it was at least the way of a teacher.

    “EEEHHHhhhh!”

The gangster, already tense and sweaty, fell directly upon his ass in cowardice as the light left his eyes and bright sky was blotted out. There was a disturbance in the air that couldn't be ignored as the biggest moth you had ever seen flew overhead. A creature darker than night which seemed to dim the very day simply by existing. It felt like trying to stare into a hole in the world, one you might just slip into if you weren’t careful. Perhaps worst of all, the awe of the thing made you sick, as if the creature harbored a tangible malice for the world it inhabited.

You felt that maybe you should count your lucky stars that it was on your side.

    Wise Up!

After being hit by Wagner's onslaught of fists, Lyn slowly made his way back to his feet, groaning and dusting himself off as he did so. For a second, he seemed to look at Wagner with murderous, almost predatory rage, but then thought better of it. He readdressed Farrah.

"Ah, Miss Harcout, may I please apologize for my actions towards you?"

Was this Lynhammer being contrite or just an act of some sort?

"I apologize for slapping you. It's just what my old teacher used to do to me when I misbehaved. Well, what she did was much more painful, but still. I hope that what just happened to me is an appropriate form of payback. If you're still not convinced..."

Lyn then slapped his own face. Hard. With a loud crack.

"I hope that makes up for it."

Lyn looked old and tired, much less like his energetic, sleazy self. It was surprisingly wholesome to watch.

"I also have my own reasons for the forest and I do hope that we can save your friend. I know what it's like to feel helpless in the face of tragedy like that. To be desperate and stressed. So, again, I apologize if I haven't inspired any confidence in you by my actions. I'll try to do better, and by the way, I didn't start that damn fire. I walked off to buy a pastry. I'll do my best to help you, Madam Harcourt. I can be quite helpful. And, if you're still not convinced, we can do this!"

He produced a pen, somehow unbroken from his beating and a piece of paper from his pocket, scrawling a few words down in an unusually neat and old-fashioned handwriting.

"I have a magecraft that lets me bind contracts. In exchange for you not informing the clergy of my presence, I won't do anything to hurt the mission. Of course, if you did tell the clergy about me, I'd have to brutally dismember you, but the contract will kill you anyway if you break it so don't worry!"

    He proffered it to her.

Well that was… something. She sure had a new perspective on Ms. Wagner now, at least.

And the more she watched him, the more certain she was that this man was at least forty-nine cards short of a deck. But she could see him at least trying to be sincere. Keyword being ‘trying’ because he failed, and the attempt alone still looked like it had almost killed him.

“I… well, it was definitely cathartic, but you’re going to have to prove yourself if you want me to forgive you. Demonstrate that we can actually trust you, that you’re not acting against us—” she took the geiss scroll from the older man and tore it into pieces. No way was she signing one of those. “Not with magecraft. You’ll do it like an ordinary human. Make yourself trustworthy, and I’ll believe it. Which means you’re going to stay with the group. You’ll be less childish, and you’ll behave yourself. I’d also tell you to think before you speak, but I think you already are, to a pretty suspicious effect.”

    She took a deep breath.

”Stop screwing with us, and even if we can’t be friends, we’ll at least be able to work with each other.”

On the flipside of all this was that Lyn’s irresponsible behavior had made Prof. Reid emote. She felt like she could trust the dour, if colorfully-dressed mage a bit more now that he had shown himself to be less robotic. That massive black moth was pretty spooky, though.

Owen frowned. Lord? As in this Lord Chapel person, or someone else? It had to be him, it was the man’s card they were discussing, after all. Unless they were just hawking something they’d stolen, Owen had seen enough of those rowdy types around King’s Cross trying to press tourists into buying crappy cassettes and the like to know there was a likely possibility. But there were too many variables at play, something Owen had never had to bother with before in the depths of the Lore Department. Decisions required enough tangible information. Without it, was it a decision at all, or merely a complex nerve response cooked up by the lizard brain?

But from the way he spoke…and what of this Elohim?

Unfortunately, Owen’s deep thought was interrupted by the world ending around him. An eclipse was occurring just overhead, several thousand feet below the surface of the earth.

He couldn’t look away. The massive magical creature blocked out the very pseudo-sky that spread its diffuse light upon Magisfair, plunging everything beneath its massive wingspan into primordial blackness. But still, Owen couldn’t look away. He craned his head so far backwards he thought for sure he’d develop a crick in his neck, but still he stared at the mighty thing that a man truly immersed in magecraft had conjured seemingly from nothing. He couldn’t look away because to do so would be an insult to the majesty he was witnessing.

Air leaked from his gaping mouth, his mouth mechanically forming the syllable his vocal cords refused to produce:

    “Wow.”

For the second time since crossing the threshold out of Tindal’s office, Owen was happy that he’d chosen to come down here. How could he not, with something so sickeningly awe-inspiring recreated as if it was the normal thing in the world?

The dull machine gun thud of Wagner’s too-many fists brought Owen to another kind of catharsis. Turning expectantly, a brief look of disappointment flashed across his face at the sight of Lyn already on his feet again and pestering Farrah. Owen knew from simple osmosis that Wagner was no slouch, so his puzzlement that any person she laid hands on was still standing was all too real. The brief snippet of words Owen’s ear managed to catch about some kind of “contract” had him tightening his grip on the butterfly knife in his hand until small white dots bloomed on his knuckles. Somebody would have to really do something about the obvious issues that were liable to assault their group; with a sinking feeling in his gut, Owen was realizing that person might have to be him. Eventually.

Something else was still gnawing at Owen as he turned his attention back to Alina and her captive gangster. His vision, the image of one of the gangsters being shot by their own gun, hadn’t yet come to pass. Had his eyes been wrong after all?

…And there he went. Guess they weren’t getting much more of this guy.

Gingerly stepping over the comatose gangster, Owen addressed himself at Alina again.

“Okay. Admittedly, I thought it was really, really stupid to…you know, make him crap himself like that. Also smelly. But! It worked, right? For whatever that’s worth.” Owen rubbed his chin, contemplating.

“I mean. To be honest, none of what he said really tells us much…but now I’m kind of glad we held off on meeting this Lord Chapel, after all that.”
