I know this was nearly a month ago. But I think Ratman meant your server region (or whatever it's called).

If you're playing against someone in the USA, and you're in Singapore or something, there will probably be more than the normal amount of lag unless you both have a really good internet connection. So people will be more likely to play if they know that they are near or in the same region. Fighting game player, in particular, seem overly picky about this kind of stuff.
