Now that I have dispensed with posting my old sheets, it's time to return to the present and post something I have been working on recently. This one might be a little bloated as I tried to cram in everything I could about this figure and I still don't feel like I got all of it in...

    Lancer

I’m as busy as a spider spinning daydreams, I’m as giddy as a baby on a swing. I haven’t seen a crocus or a rosebud, or a robin on the wing. But I feel so gay, in a melancholy way…that it might as well be Spring...

    True Name: Loki Laufeyjarson
Epithet: “The Spider of the Æsir
    Region: Scandinavia (Age of Gods)
    Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
    Likes: Fishing, Women
    Dislikes: Bondage, Snakes
    Talents: Comedy, Flyting
    Natural Enemy: Skaði

    Character
Lancer takes the form of Loki Laufeyjarson (also known under a variety of pseudonyms such as Loptr and Þökk), a Divine Spirit and member of the Æsir of Scandinavia…although when it came to the aforementioned tribe of deities, Loki would harm them as often as he would help them.

Like with other Divine Spirits, Loki’s summoning requires a human vessel to act as a host and so he ended up possessing a sketchy Norwegian businessman called “Mr. Aske Ladden”. If challenged about his eccentric behaviour in the Norse myths, Loki will reveal that it is down to his Origin being “Inversion” and that much like a spider hanging from a web, he sees the world from an upside-down perspective which influences his actions to run counter to the norms of society. It didn’t bother him at all that he acted effeminately in an extremely patriarchal society nor that he was more commonly referred to with a matronymic title “Laufeyjarson” instead of the expected patronymic “Fárbautason”. Part of this was that his mother Laufey was the member of the divine Æsir rather than his “lowly” Jötunn father and so he deeply cared about her image as that represented his connection to the Norse deities even if he came across as a momma’s boy. He naturally turned it back on Thor by calling him likewise the “Son of Jörð” to pester him in their verbal jousts whenever his buddy got too rambunctious. Even in his day to day life, Loki was a loafer, a man who lounges around even though he is no longer a boy. Then when he got a mischievous idea into his head, he would become a rowdy fellow who got up to various pranks such as cutting Sif’s golden hair whilst she slept - then when he was inevitably caught he would fast talk his way out of the situation in a way that would be advantageous to everyone involved. Outside of his mischief, Loki enjoyed what might be compared to modern Vaudeville and so he would engage in entertaining acts such as Flyting with others or comedic skits in order to make the perpetual frowner Skaði crack a smile. Thus Loki occupied a peculiar position in the Norse pantheon as he routinely did things that were socially unacceptable and yet provided indispensable aid to the deities which is why they always kept him around despite such a decision ultimately proving fatal to the vast majority of them. Just about the only person who completely accepted Loki for who he was is his eternally faithful wife Sigyn, who stayed with him even after his imprisonment by the deities.

In a Grail War, Loki starts with a more conservative approach, though he is a proud warrior who fought just as well as any of the Æsir, he takes a much more interest in what the human Masters of the present are up to and what motivates them. Therefore in the early days of the War, Loki will not typically be the instigator of battles and will instead spy on the other combatants using his shapeshifting abilities and mystical cloak. If Loki is forced into engaging, he will naturally defend himself and will take out an ominous Mystic Code in the form of a pulsating spear that he calls “Mistilteinn” and use it to fight. Although he does not like to draw attention to it, Loki is the son of a Jötunn and so is naturally very strong, plus given his friendly association with outcast monsters, he will not look down on any opponent regardless of their status. When it comes to his own Master, no relationship is more complicated. He will present himself in a variety of roles, from mentor to big brother and plucky assistant - all depending on what he perceives his Master as needing. The whole time Loki will attempt to slowly break down the social barriers constricting his Master and draw out their true character deep within. In true Loki fashion, this can work spectacularly and turn a cowardly lion into a courageous hero…or backfire tremendously and corrupt a good man into a deviant sinner that turns against him. Needless to say, given his trickster nature, Loki’s Master is as much at risk from him and his antics as they are from the opposing Servants.

His Wish upon the Grail? As he looks upon the radiant light of the Holy Grail, Loki has a rare moment of introspection and thinks that maybe it would be for the best if he didn’t make a wish given his sly and cynical nature. Therefore he would entrust the Grail to his lost love Skaði in the Age of Gods and have her make the wish that would truly benefit everyone.

You always hurt the one you love - the one you shouldn't hurt at all. You always take the sweetest rose, and crush it till the petals fall. You always break the kindest heart with a hasty word you can't recall, so if I broke your heart last night, it's because I love you most of all…

    Skills

    Class Skills

    Divinity - (C)
The measure of whether one has Divine Spirit aptitude or not. At high levels, one is treated as a mixed race of a Divine Spirit - a demi-god. This Skill has an effect which reduces special defensive values called "purge defense" in proportion to the Divinity's Rank. It can break through Skills such as Protection of the Faith and Enlightenment of the Sacred Fig. Whilst he was a Divine Spirit during the Age of Gods, Loki only had a single deity parent and furthermore his need to use a human vessel to incarnate means that this Skill has greatly suffered as a result. Not that he particularly cares if there are no members of the Æsir around that he feels like he has to impress.

    Magic Resistance - (B)
The granting of protection against magical effects. Differing from the Resistance effect that merely rejects Magical Energy, this ability cancels the spells altogether. As a Divine Spirit from the Age of Gods, Loki naturally has extremely high immunity to magical energy and will automatically cancel out spells of A-Rank or below. In practice he is untouchable to modern Mages, however due to the need for a human vessel, this Skill has received a Rank-Down and so Loki can still be negatively affected by Greater Magecraft and Greater Rituals if exposed to them for long enough periods of time.

    Personal Skills

    Mana Burst [Flames] - (B)
The increase in performance, caused by infusing one’s body and weapons with Magical Energy and instantly expelling it and in this variant converting it into flames - simply put the user recreates the effect of a jet burst by expending large amounts of their Magical Energy. Whilst not a personification deity of flames per se, there is a long cultural association that Loki has with them - such as in Sweden where the heat hazes that threaten crops are blamed on Loki’s mischief or as in the Faroe Islands where the first flame from a newly lit fire was called the “fire of Loki” to name a few examples. As a result, Loki can generate large amounts of heat and/or flames from his body for various applications either in battle or outside. In contrast to other heroes who possess this Skill, Loki can bend the flames to his will, allowing them to burn counter to the laws of convection for example to entrap the opponent. Of course he has to be careful when using it or he’ll start more wildfires…

    Spirit of Chaos - (A)
An abnormal nature of one who embodies the “Trickster” archetype in the Collective Subconsciousness. Loki is many things to many people - the master of the air, the spider of the Æsir, the receiver of milk-teeth and the Vættr sleeping under the fireplace. But most of all he is the “Trickstar” as he likes to call it, the greatest wayward son and mischief maker in any pantheon. He was able to complete impossible tasks set to him by gods and kings precisely because the odds were stacked against him, but paradoxically he would lose to people that were weaker than him who turned his joker nature against him. This Wildcard ability manifests as a blank Luck Parameter, whose value is determined by mathematical randomness - guaranteed hits can now miss and harmless attacks can now cause fatal damage and vice versa. If Loki remains in an area, this Skill will spread out and start affecting the surrounding and even draw the opponent into his whimsical shenanigans.

    The Great Pretender - (C)
The title that is given to one who has achieved mastery over their form and has great skill in either mimicking another’s appearance or otherwise transmutation of the body for varying purposes. Perhaps Loki’s greatest asset was his penchant for shapeshifting in order to further his goals. Whether it was humans, animals or even the Jötnar - no guise was too great for Loki to assume so long as it was something he had encountered before. It was a total transformation too, not just some kind of Glamour as seen in the fact that Loki was able to give birth to multiple children whilst pretending to be a female. In the modern day, due to needing a vessel to contain his Divine Spirit, Loki has to put a lot more effort into transforming his human body and so this Skill has a greatly reduced Rank compared to the days of the Age of Gods. Nevertheless, he is still quick and slippery when he breaks his body down into a gaseous form and reshapes it into his desired target.

    Noble Phantasm

    Fjaðrhamr
    Falcon Cloak of Sky Dancing

[Type: Anti-Unit], [Rank: C], [Maximum Range: 0], [Maximum Number of Targets: 1]

Occasionally when he is out and about, Loki can be seen wearing a tatty old brown cloak. Although it may look unassuming, it is actually the famous Fjaðrhamr that once belonged to the Goddess Freyja which she lent to Loki in order to recover Thor’s missing hammer Mjöllnir. By running enough magical energy through the cloak, it unfolds to reveal that it is actually a pair of feathery falcon wings that have grafted onto the back of the wearer. Why would Loki need such a thing when he can already fly by shapeshifting into winged animals? It’s because the Fjaðrhamr has the attribute of being “superluminal” and so can therefore allow the user to pierce through the boundaries separating worlds as was the case when Loki used it to cross over from Asgard into Jötunheimr and back.

Aside from protection against the elements, Loki continues to periodically wear it in a Holy Grail War in order to allow him to easily slip inside of Bounded Fields so that he can perform reconnaissance on the enemy Masters and Servants. It also provides Loki with a quick getaway as he can reach supersonic speeds in no time at all without having to waste time shapeshifting. Given their cumbersome shape, Loki does not try to fight with the wings on and so he will discard the cloak if he intends on engaging in combat from the outset. As is befitting of Loki’s whimsical nature, he can just as easily slap the cloak on his Master and tell them to do the dangerous work for him, but in a roundabout way such an act might save their life in the long run.

    -------

    Mistilteinn
Divine Slaying Spear of the Parasitic Plant

[Type: Anti-Unit], [Rank: C], [Maximum Range: 5], [Maximum Number of Targets: 1]

Had he been summoned as his true Divine Spirit self whilst alive, Loki’s true Noble Phantasm would have been the conceptualisation of him leading the Jötnar against the Æsir during the battle of Ragnarök. However, as Loki has been reduced to a Heroic Spirit inhabiting a mortal vessel, he is stuck with his creation Mistilteinn that slew the deity Baldr which informs his choice of Class.

Mistilteinn takes the form of a cursed Mystic Code. It has an ominous design, creeping green vines wrapped around the heavy black shaft and even onto the blade - if you look closely, it even appears like the vines are pulsing as if they are alive. The spear is a deadly weapon in Loki’s hands as the parasitic vines enwrapped around the spear are not simple decorations but will continuously suck out the Mana of anything the blade has been plunged into and remains in contact with. This can be useful for hit and run tactics to gradually wear down an enemy Servant or in other situations like eating away at magical barriers with every slash. In addition, the spear's creation as a God-slaying weapon means that a strike with it against a Divine Spirit will induce a Critical Chance.

However, the true power of the Noble Phantasm is when it is used as a ranged weapon. By revealing its True Name, Loki can conceptually recreate the death of Baldr. After he throws the spear, Mistilteinn will fly through the air and home in on the enemy Servant even if they try to dodge, like a guided missile thanks to the supernatural wind carrying the spear. If the enemy Servant tries to block or put something between them and the spear then the wind will concentrate around the tip of the blade, turning it into a kind of high-powered drill that will attempt to bore through until it eventually reaches the target or runs out of Mana. If Loki needs to defend himself immediately, then a simple snap of his fingers will cause the spear to stop whatever it is doing and fly right back into his hands.

    Creator's Notes
So like, when the first part of LB6 came out, there was some misinformation about a potential character Morgan was referring to supposedly called the “Spider of Orkney”. It ended up being a misunderstanding but for about five seconds I entertained the idea of Loki being hidden amongst the cast and causing mischief. Funnily enough, that role was somewhat fulfilled by Oberon in the end. To which I recognised and tried to avoid this sheet being too similar to him.

It goes without saying, but a lot of this sheet owes its existence to me reading the research of Professor Eldar Heide, who wrote extensively about Loki and how the later mediæval folktales featuring another character named “Loki” shouldn’t be dismissed as irrelevant because they are radically different and instead can reveal insight on how there might be more to the Old Norse deity than was originally thought.

As an aside, I tried to work in Loki’s potential connection to the fairy tale character “Askeladden” by explaining it as Loki’s human guise and how he is able to summon himself as a Servant despite being a Divine Spirit. His possession of a mortal vessel was also used as a justification for nerfing some of the abilities so he wouldn’t be uber wanked. Lastly I am aware that I reused the concept of Mistilteinn as a Noble Phantasm from a Cerdic sheet, but I felt that it worked better with its creator (or Hodr obviously) rather than him.

The Faceclaim is Mr Heartland from the anime “Yugioh Zexal”. The connection is obvious in that Heartland is a corrupting trickster who after making a contract with what is essentially Lucifer, he gains various powers including shapeshifting into insects.

Because Muramasa is an Emiya-Pseudo that has Höðr as a fragment within him, I was sorely tempted to use Issei Ryudou as the Faceclaim for the longest time as a wink and nod to Loki’s hand in Baldr’s death. But I could not find an image of Issei that I felt fit and so the idea was discarded.

As usual, all comments and criticisms are duly welcome~

    Character

Rider takes the form of William Marshal, the 1st Earl of Pembroke and an incredibly long-lived knight who served under five different kings throughout the rise and fall of the Angevin Empire.

Appearing as the archetype of a gruff military veteran, Marshal is a battle scarred older man complete with eyepatch in typical crusading attire. Despite this, in a more relaxed setting, Marshal attempts to soften his expression and present himself as a friendly sage grandfather type figure to his Master. Having practically raised Prince Henry as his own son, Marshal is experienced in handling rowdy younger people and keeping them from acting rash and getting themselves killed - often using the threat of firing them from a trebuchet based on an anecdote from Marshal’s childhood. Although he tries not to get too emotionally invested as Marshal learned very quickly that in warfare most people are expendable since his own father agreed to let him die after being captured by enemy forces as a child - pointing out that he has more sons, ultimately Marshal cannot resist sticking his neck out for other people, to protect even one person from the horrors of war. The same can be said of his dear wife Isabel, of whom Marshal was only arranged to be married to politically, yet he genuinely stayed faithful to her and refused to take a concubine despite that being perfectly acceptable socially at the time. It is because of that, Marshal despises the kind of person who turns loved ones against each other, especially if they use lies to do so as Marshal was the victim of politically designed slander that temporarily removed him from royal service.

In a Holy Grail War, Marshal takes the position more of a military general rather than a frontline soldier. It is not his age that impedes him as he is remarkably vigorous for a senior man, but rather his lack of familiarity with the eldritch magic and divine miracles of antiquity that he sees as a decisive factor in Grail warfare. Taking his time to study the enemies, Marshal plots the most effective and risk averse strategy to deal with each one and weighs his chances of taking them on if it comes to a brawl. As someone who became such an icon for the Code of Chivalry and who equally adored the Paladins of Charlemagne as he was raised on their stories, Marshal refuses to resort to extreme measures such as involving civilians in the conflict of Heroic Spirits and even if he found an enemy Master vulnerable, the most he would do is to honourably take them prisoner and ransom their return. If his own Master reveals themselves to be an unrepentant villain who engages in morally reprehensible acts, then Marshal would have to be subjected to a Command Seal to obey any such orders and will quickly revolt otherwise.

His Wish upon the Grail? Naturally it would be to break the ancient Curse laid upon him and his family by the Bishop of Ferns, which happened during Marshal’s campaign into Ireland on the behalf of King John.

    Skills

    Class Skills

    Magic Resistance - (B)
The granting of protection against magical effects. Differing from the Resistance effect that merely rejects Magical Energy, this ability cancels the spells altogether. As a warrior from the last days in which magic and fairies were still seen out in the open, Marshal has a solid immunity to magical effects and will automatically reject any spells with a chant below three verses. Even if he is targeted by Greater Magecraft and Greater Rituals, it is difficult for him to be affected in short bursts of exposure.

    Riding - (A)

A Class Skill of Rider and Saber class Servants, denoting the ability to ride mounts and vehicles. Rider-class Servants will typically possess a high rank. It is said that dragon type mounts are an exception, requiring a different ability other than Riding. As a veteran cavalryman and a genius on the tournament circuit, Marshal has incredible aptitude for horse riding and so has this Skill at the maximum Rank. As a result, all vehicles and all creatures but those of Phantasmal Beast and Divine Beast-rank can be used as mounts. Even vehicles that did not exist in the time period he was alive in, for they are no exception.

    Personal Skills

Command of the Regent - (A)

A composite Skill, combining the strategic thinking of a military general with that of the charisma of one who leads the country as its ruler. As the most powerful and experienced Knight in the command of King John, Marshal was naturally selected to be the Regent and guardian of the dying monarch’s nine year old son. As the de facto ruler of the Kingdom of England, Marshal did everything he could to rebuild the country as well as defend it from foreign invasions seeking to overthrow the child king. By grasping and analyzing the current situation, as long as there is even a 1% chance of survival, Marshal’s tactical mind will perceive the optimal route as a silver thread and by following it can turn the tables of battle. The more data Marshal has access to and the less of a factor luck plays, the higher the chance of this Skill resolving successfully. In addition, any allies carrying out Marshal’s orders will receive a temporary boost as their morale is lifted by the reassuring command of a reliable leader.

Perseverance in Old Age - (A)

A Variant type Skill of "Battle Continuation" that embodies a hero who continues to fight and win against foes despite having past the prime of their youth. Due to his sense of loyalty in protecting and maintaining the peace of the Kingdom, Marshal did not balk at the prospect of being made the Regent of England at the age of seventy and continued to lead the country to victory in the Battle of Lincoln with remarkable vigour, slaying the inexperienced enemy commander who was only in his twenties. Now incarnated as a Servant, despite being summoned as his experienced veteran soldier self, Marshal is not limited at all by his older body and is able to fight with the same youthful vitality as if he were three times younger. In addition, the mortality rate from injuries he receives is reduced and it is even possible to continue battle for a single Turn after receiving a fatal blow.

    Territory Reinforcement - (C)

A power of a lord who desires to protect their allies and the territory that they rule over. The higher the Skill’s Rank is, the larger the defensive area and effect increases. After marrying the wealthy landowner Isabel de Clare, Marshal set about making extensive military improvements to his wife’s estates such as Pembroke Castle and Chepstow Castle, as well as building Carlow Castle in Ireland to stay there during his exile from King John’s court. Using this Skill, Marshal is able to strengthen any of his encampments - either at present or for future use when he is absent. Naturally Marshal’s newfound territory will be reinforced to absorb more of an enemy Servant’s attacks, but also his allies sheltered within will have a Damage Reduction effect in addition to their regular defensive values. However as this is an ability created to defend one’s subjects and not the user, Marshal himself is excluded from this effect.

    Noble Phantasm

    Blancart
White Steed of the Noble Knight

[Type: Anti-Unit], [Rank: C], [Maximum Range: 400], [Maximum Number of Targets: 1]

It was the year 1166, and the freshly knighted William Marshal was involved in the Battle of Drincourt when his warhorse was killed by a gang of Flemish soldiers during a street fight. This was a source of embarrassment for the inexperienced knight who was forced to sell his cloak in order to buy a replacement. However with only twenty-two shillings to his name, he couldn’t afford a quality Destrier or even a standard Palfrey, all he could manage was a low quality Rouncy which wasn’t going to help him win the local tournament he so wished to compete in. The local lord Guillaume II de Tancarville heard of Marshal's plight and so out of sympathy offered him the Destrier that no one else in his household wanted. The catch was that this horse was uncontrollable and no one could tame its wild nature. Through repetition, grit and a little bit of ingenuity, Marshal figured out a way to ride its ferocious speed without being hurled off and so he took “Blancart” (so named after its whitish colour) and proceeded to become a legend on the tournament circuit.

Now incarnated as a Servant, when Marshal requires some acceleration he sheaths his sword and snaps his fingers which causes Blancart to erupt out of a hurricane of wind. The warhorse is suitably equipped with full metal armour in a process known as “barding”, which gives decent protection against enemy attacks. Climbing aboard Blancart, Marshal draws the jousting lance from the saddle racks and commands his loyal steed to charge forward. Although the heavy barding prevents Blancart from doing any serious acrobatics, he can still run faster than a speeding bullet as he dashes around the battlefield. Even if the enemy is able to avoid being pierced by Marshal's lance, they still risk being injured from being tackled and/or trampled by the sheer velocity with which Blancart moves. When it comes to delivering the finishing blow, Marshal leaps off of his saddle onto the tip of Blancart’s nose who then proceeds to use his acceleration to launch Marshal at blistering speed and using angular momentum, he starts to spiral as he flies through the air like a supersonic drill as he perforates through any obstacle to gore the enemy with his lance.

    Lore
During the days of knights and magic, young William was the youngest son of the Lord Marshal. Without land or title to inherit the child had to make his own way in the world and so he was sent off to Normandy to train as a knight. As Flanders invaded Normandy, William found himself thrust into war at the tender age of 19. Though he fought well, he was mocked for not understanding the way of the world by his patrons as it was more profitable to seize loot rather than waste time killing people. Nevertheless, William was taken to a local tournament where he found his true calling. He spent a year winning match after match until he became a legend in the tournament circuit. His fame caused him to be asked to help escort Queen Eleanor back to England. But they were ambushed and though the Queen managed to escape thanks to William's efforts, he was eventually overwhelmed by sheer numbers and was captured. He survived his imprisonment through eating leftover scraps until the Queen paid a ransom fee for his release - having been impressed with his bravery. From then on until his death, he entered into direct service to the royal family.

William was quickly made the instructor in charge of Prince Henry's knightly training. Impressed with the prince's progress, William swore a separate oath to him personally which was tested when the prince led a rebellion against his father for trying to give much of his inheritance away to his youngest and favourite son John instead of Henry. William stood by the prince even knowing the rebellion was doomed to fail, and when they were forced to leave England they wandered across Europe and participated in countless tournaments where the duo became undefeated. Encouraged by their success, Henry declared war on Richard with the prize being the right to kingship. But tragedy struck at the final hour as Henry was stricken by a fatal illness and so the final battle never took place. On his deathbed, the prince asked William to fulfill his dream of making a crusade to Jerusalem in his stead upon which the valorous man disappeared for two years to do whilst secretly crusading.

Upon his return, he rejoined the King's court as a Captain. He was immediately showered with rewards and favors from the King, and William quickly learned why. The King was not only waging war with Phillip II of France, but had also fallen out with his son, now known as the legendary Richard the Lionheart who was certain to repeat his brother's actions and lead a rebellion to become King. With enemies on all sides, the King requested William to be his personal bodyguard. This would come in handy during a joint ambush by Phillip and Richard as they tried to kill the King, but to their surprise Richard was knocked clean off his horse in a single thrust by William. Standing above the Lionheart, William brought down his lance...to kill Richard's horse instead as a public act of humiliation. Nevertheless the stress piled on until the old King could take it no more and he died of a fever with Richard finding himself the new ruler of England.

To William's surprise, Richard welcomed him into his court with the offer of marriage to the young Isabel de Clare which found the landless knight transformed into one of the richest men in the kingdom. However Richard did not learn from his father's mistakes as Phillip II was secretly conspiring with Richard's brother John Lackland to overthrow the King. They started by ousting Governor Longchamp who was ruling England whilst Richard was gone crusading and installing John as the Regent in charge. Although William publicly defended John's honor, he secretly suspected him of foul play and helped organize the Loyalists who would install Richard back in power. Whilst fighting John's forces, William's own brother was slain and Richard ordered William to become the new Marshal in his place. Thus he became "William the Marshal" which later became his full name. The false ruler John was put in his place and Richard was king once more.

When Richard was unceremoniously killed by Pierre Basile, he had no heirs so John Lackland ended up becoming king anyway. The relationship between John and William was never one of friendship but of King and soldier, with William being mostly relegated to staying in Ireland to keep him in check. This cost King John dearly as without his greatest military general, John lost most of the Empire his father had built within a few short years. Nevertheless, William was one of the few to stay loyal to the King during the Barons' revolt and even refused to sign the Magna Carta. His loyalty was rewarded when John died as it was decided that Marshal would become the Protector of the nine-year-old King Henry III and Regent of the Kingdom until the young King came of age.

Now in charge of the crumbling Angevin Empire, Marshal decided he would protect England at all costs. The first order of business was to put down Prince Louis of France's claim to the English throne. Despite being 70 years old, Marshal waged war with Louis and the rebellious barons - even charging into battle himself and winning battle after battle until the war was finally won. Despite this, he was charitable to the defeated as he believed that self-restraint and compromise were the key to securing peace and stability for the young King as Marshal knew his time remaining was limited.

Indeed as two years later his health finally started to fail and so he used his remaining days to summon the now eleven-year-old King and all the barons and clergymen involved with the running of the state. He declared his intention of retiring and watched closely as the men feverishly debated amongst themselves who would become the new Regent. Seeing through all the greed and ambition, Marshal declared Pandulf Verraccio - the Pope's representative in England - to be in charge for the time being.

With that done, there was one final thing Marshal needed to do - a promise to a friend from long ago but never forgotten. Whilst on his deathbed, Marshal had called upon the Knights Templar and was enrolled within their ranks and was buried within their Temple Church complete with being honored with one of the Nine Effigies that watch over proceedings even today.

The FaceClaim is Grius from “Metaphor: ReFantazio”. Just handwave the darker skin as being a tan from his years in the Crusades, it’s fine. The personality on the other hand was based on Charles Gray’s depiction of the ACD character Mycroft Holmes.

Tried to get this one out before he inevitably shows up in Fate/Strange Fake. I'm aware that Blancart was only his horse for tournaments and that he used a bunch of nameless warhorses in actual battle but I liked the idea of a faithful companion so I rolled all the horses into one, despite the implausibility of a horse living that long.

Also I am aware that full barding only really came into effect during the 14th century and so would have been anachronistic for Marshal, but Fate is full of anachronisms so I think it's fine to lean into the rule of cool.

Any complaints will be sent straight to past me.

Mr. Aske Ladde: The whole "hurt those you love" feels a little Beryl Gut to me, which is funny. I've never heard of Loki loving Skadi, which I suppose shows my lack of knowledge. His lines are fun; very mischief/fae-like trickster, rather than the more sinister deceiver people usually go for for Loki.
Speaking of, his host's name feels really quite suspicious.

...unsurprisingly, because this is a loki sheet, and a new one at that, i can't help but not only read it, but comment on it.
    So what are my thoughts?
It's...not much, unfortunately. Well, nothing constructive at any rate. But nevertheless: I really like this sheet. Admittedly my knowledge on Loki is severely much smaller than yours considering this:

(Which I would very much love to read btw but it seems I can only get some of them...if I'm lucky) While mine is just scattered online sources, reading parts of some of the poems Loki is in (and Sigyn), aaand Overly Sarcastic Productions' video on him. But still, this Loki is closest of all the Loki sheets to what I imagined my version of Loki would be, someone capable of good and evil in equal measure while seeming both clever and bumbling at the same time (tho obvious mine would be shipped with sigyn than skadi tho it wouldn't be that simple and i'mma just stop there before i ramble), so unsurprisingly my favorite part of this sheet is the description of his personality and so on. Particularly the part of his relationship with his Master. Either it'll work extremely well or backfire horribly. And the whole liking "what might be compared to modern Vaudeville". I can already imagine what he'd be doing. Sounds very fitting for (this) Loki. XD Oh and yes I did notice the Askeladden reference.
On the technical side, very cohesive. And honestly I like everything about it for different reasons that it's hard to pick a favorite. Class Skills are, well, Class Skills, but nothing bad. Personal Skills: I like that the "shapeshifting" skills has its own name. I hate that I didn't think of it, but now I can't help but wonder what inspired it in the first place. Spirit of Chaos is a skill I wish I came up with, both name wise and mechanic wise, and I don't even have the (possible?) excuse of not knowing "what it was based on". And I'm kicking myself for not thinking of the reasoning you gave for giving Loki Mana Burst [Flame]...but then I remember my Loki=Rod sheet was getting bloated anyway thanks to it being a combined figure, plus I was already feeling like I was pushing my indulgence at the time, so I held back on fire excuses. And as for NPs...well, haven't read your Cedric sheet, so can't comment about the redundancy, butt I can say:

Ah, so like the All-Butcher skin for Loki in Marvel Rivals. XP
Just kidding just kidding. I just have Marvel Rivals brainrot from playing it so much.
What I actually wanna say is, well, I like how annoying it is as a weapon. Fits Loki really well. Though I admit I do like the Fjaðrhamr NP more, but that's more cause I've seen Mistilteinn as NPs more before so it seems less "shiny" compared to seeing the cloak, and I just like that it's a cloak that not only gives him wings but essentially a phase through form and that if he feels like it, he can slap it on his Master...or maybe even a random person if he feels like it.
Though I can't help but (also) ask: one, wasn't Angrboða Hel's mom though? Are you implying Angrboða's genderbent into a male for this version of Loki? Or is it something else and I'm overthinking it? And two, what's up with him loving Skadi? Like genuinely curious what is your basis for that, because it feels like it you do have one for that.
And with that...in short: again, really like this Loki sheet.

Now have some Loki and family lines for funsies:

Loki=Rod: "...oh great, another Loki... What kind is it this time? ...Ah. Well at least the vessel doesn't piss me off."

Sigyn (Lover): "Hahaha. It's good to see you without Rod's influence, not that I mind you as that. How have you been, Loki? Any stories you can share?"

    Sigyn, Narfi & Nari:
"Oh wow. It's Pa! But without any bullshit messing with his summoning!"
    "...I mean, he's still using a vessel."
"You know what I mean. I'mma go talk to him! Maybe we can have some fun."
"Please no. He hasn't mentioned any of us as his kids so I don't think—"
"Can't hear you. It's still Pa. He won't mind as long as we do some trickster shenanigans!"
"Nari! Get back here! I don't care how funny it'd be! It's going be awkward!"
(Meanwhile, Sigyn watches and trails behind them in amusement, content to simply be an observer. After all, she is aware of what kind of Loki this one is, and where his heart lies. As much as her body thrums in need to hold him close, she knows it won't be quite the same with this Loki)

    Sigyn & Vali:
"...ah, hello, my love. It's... It's good to see you smile again."
"...yes, I feel the same, Father. It's good to see you."
    "...but I hope you understand..."
    "...if we see Skadi again..."
    "We won't hold back."

Just call me Hirohiko Araki because my sheets are often peppered with references to music. The first quote at the top is lyrics from "It Might As Well Be Spring" as sung by Dick Haymes. The second quote after what his wish would be is lyrics from "You Always Hurt the One You Love" as sung by the Mills Brothers. Lastly the Great Pretender skill is named after the Freddie Mercury song of the same name.

No, you are right. Because I didn't write a Lore section, I was just writing stuff off the cuff and so I got Hel's birth mixed up with Sleipnir. My bad.

I don't have it on hand, but I read some interesting scholarly speculation that there was a potential lost relationship between the two based on various bits of information. I just took that and ran with it, with Skadi being the first love that got away - like that scene in 5 Centimeters Per Second.

    Lancer

I’m as busy as a spider spinning daydreams, I’m as giddy as a baby on a swing. I haven’t seen a crocus or a rosebud, or a robin on the wing. But I feel so gay, in a melancholy way…that it might as well be Spring...

    True Name: Loki Laufeyjarson
Epithet: “The Spider of the Æsir
    Region: Scandinavia (Age of Gods)
    Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
    Likes: Fishing, Women
    Dislikes: Bondage, Snakes
    Talents: Comedy, Flyting
    Natural Enemy: Skaði

    Parameters
    STR: (B) END: (B) AGI: (A) MGI: (A) LCK: (~) NP: (C)

If one day Loki wakes up to find a swarm of fangirls around him, he can blame a certain something in a certain franchise for that to happen.

Oh yes, having Jonathan Tucker play him in the adaptation had really a huge impact on his cultural perception, good catch there.

Credits to ZerbanDaGreat for the first Noble Phantasm, which I shamelessly ripped from Fate/Hollow Order, which used it for a different Lancer variant of this character. The rest of the sheet is all my own creation.

    Also, surprise I guess.

All I long for is the chance to meet them after getting out of here. Oh, please, could you picture the sorrow etched on their cute little faces when I can't make it to the concert? Hah. But I suppose I'll just keep practicing my singing while I'm stuck here. Wah!”

    Bond Line 3
“Hooray! Thank you so much for finally freeing me from that stuffy prison cell, Master. It was starting to feel so unbearably cramped in there. I was on the verge of losing my mind, you know. Anyway, at least I can dive back into my side gig as an idol now. I bet everyone was beginning to wonder where I disappeared to. Heh. At least — that's what you want me to say, right? Well, I'm afraid that's not the case this time, you silly little squirrel of a Master. I’m really, honestly, quite annoyed with you. So, I’m going to have to punish you. Oh? Honestly, it was almost too easy to make you all believe I had truly changed and felt genuine remorse. Heh. Just a few simple lines about aspiring to be an idol, mixed with a touch of tears here and there, and you fell for it! But don't worry, Master, I will take good care of you, I promise. It might be a bit - or perhaps a lot - painful, but you will survive. I can guarantee it. Heh. People in this world are remarkably foolish.”

    Bond Line 5
“Oh, my dear Master, please don't fret about a thing. No one will even blink if you seem to 'disappear' for a little while. I’ll just have to subject you to a bit of torment until your memories fade away—that's all. Then I can return to my idol life, bask in the admiration of my devoted fans, and ensnare all those foolish girls who are so hopelessly enchanted by me. Heh. First, I think I’ll take my time peeling away their delicate skin with these flesh peelers, savor each moment as I pluck their precious little eyes from their sockets and gobble them up.. Finally, I’ll unleash a series of unspeakable horrors on them that would make even that French lunatic shudder in fear. Heh. I know, let's start with that sweet Einzbern girl—what do you say, Master? Oh, please, just surrender. There’s truly no point in resisting now; it’s already far too late.”

I act like I can't stand you, you act like you can't stand me, and I pretend I’ve changed for the better. Heh. But, to my surprise, it actually, genuinely worked! What a brilliant idea, bigger me! Personality
Fractured and irreparably damaged, her psyche is ensnared in the memories of her past, making it difficult for her to return to the present. Caster continually vocalizes her distress, wailing and pleading to anyone who might listen for liberation from her confined state. She resorts to self-inflicted harm, striking her fists until they become bloodied masses or gnawing at her own fingers in anxious dread. In essence, her mental condition is thoroughly compromised, rendering it incomprehensible and resistant to rational discourse.

However, upon potential release from her confinement, one may observe that her behavior bears a striking resemblance to the Lancer variant of Elizabeth Bathory, a self-proclaimed idol eager to perform for the world. The madness in her gaze diminishes, and a more positive perspective towards her circumstances begins to emerge. Nonetheless, she also exhibits an incessantly annoying demeanor and lacks musical talent to the extent that she cannot carry a tune, in addition to the aforementioned traits.

Regrettably, all of this behavior constitutes nothing more than a cruel deception and a sinister fabrication designed to elicit sympathy. Caster embodies the Blood Countess, a serial killer who has tortured and murdered over 500 innocent individuals for the pursuit of beauty. She feigns remorse for her transgressions while concealing her true sadistic tendencies behind the facade of an idolized superstar. Consequently, her genuine desire is to perpetuate her prior atrocities, violently torturing and eliminating all young girls who come into her vicinity, along with other unfathomable and horrific acts she plans to carry out against them.

Should anyone uncover this facade, Caster will seek to inflict pain and suffering upon them as well, regardless of whether that individual is her Master or not.
    Class Skills
    Territory Creation A
Despite originating from an era in which women were regarded as inferior to men, it was Caster who asserted control over her ancestral residence rather than her absent spouse. This empowering capability allows her to recreate the central tower of the castle as her workshop, where she constructs various horrific torture devices and traps using Item Construction. However, the tower is manifested at the instant of summoning, remains beyond Caster's control, and initiates the operational function of her first Noble Phantasm.
    Item Construction C
Through the innovative and inventive approach of utilizing extreme and unethical concepts, Caster developed novel and distinctive methodologies for inflicting pain and suffering via torture, some of which remain in use today. This synergy with Item Construction enables Caster to create both contemporary and mystical torture devices, including a living brazen bull, nail rippers, flesh peelers, stretching racks, crucifixion crosses, flagellating maces, spiked whips, sentient iron maidens on wheels, and draconic gargoyles that serve as sentinels or castle staff in the guise of the wraiths of her former victims, who have been grotesquely deformed and drained through her incomprehensible tortures.

These animated entities exhibit unwavering loyalty to Caster, responding to her ever changing desires and eccentric whims.
    Personal Skills
    Bloodsucking B
Driven by the belief that the consumption and immersion in the blood of virginal girls would restore her lost beauty and youth, Caster committed the torture and murder of over 500 innocent children to feed this depraved obsession. Although she is not part of the Dead Apostle lineage, this belief has bestowed upon her the capability to consume blood for the restoration of lost prana at a rate surpassing that of conventional methods, such as consuming human souls or executing a mana-transfer ritual.

Furthermore, her variant of the Bloodsucking skill possesses an unusual characteristic; by bathing herself in blood, she gains the ability to perform a limited form of temporal reversal. This enables the healing of fatal injuries within a matter of minutes and nullifies the effects of time-based skills and Noble Phantasms.
    Torture Technique A
Prior to executing her gruesome murders, Caster inflicted severe suffering and torture upon her captives, all aimed at maximizing their pain and despair. When employing [tools of torture] or [methods of torture], this attribute allows her to double the damage inflicted through her attacks and also guarantees the maximization of bloodshed by inhibiting clotting. Additionally, if the target is female, the inflicted damage is doubled once more.
    Mental Pollution A
Caster suffered from multiple psychological conditions, notably sociopathy and psychopathy. Additionally, she displayed minimal remorse for the lives she callously extinguished even in the face of her sentencing for these crimes. This lack of empathy, coupled with the state of her confined summoning, has led to her mental state becoming irreparably fragmented. She may strike the walls of her cell with bloodied fists, aggressively assault those who approach, derive pleasure from torturing individuals whom she envies, and incessantly howl like a banshee until released. This behaviour results in her achieving a form of immunity to mental interference, yet it renders her incomprehensible to those without similarly distorted psychological framework.

Interestingly, it also appears to exert a form of vampiric enthrallment, specifically on individuals of the female gender, akin to the effects observed with Charisma B.
    Noble Phantasm
Cachtice - Demon Fortress of Blood
Rank A | Type Anti-Army | Range One to Ninety-Nine | Maximum No. Of Targets Five Hundred Persons

Descended of the Bathory lineage, Caster gained access to her hereditary estate, the very castle bestowed upon the family founder after the vanquishing of a dragon, and the location where she was subsequently imprisoned for her transgressions, crying out for liberation.

Consequently, Caster can evoke the castle through her Territory Creation skill, albeit only as its central prison tower. However, as time progresses and the accumulation of spilled blood and prana intensifies, the draconic core concealed in the blood lake at the castle's center begins to reconstruct the castle's true form, revealing opulent wings and hidden chambers that emerge from its labyrinthian corridors. In simple terms, this true form of the castle is fundamentally a colossal torture chamber of death.

It permits Caster to manipulate the operations, aesthetic, and functions of all the rooms and mechanisms within; for example, she might summon descending spiked ceilings that crush unsuspecting intruders or manifest a lake of blood from which mindless wraiths pull victims into the abyss. Conversely, Caster is also a captive within the castle, being sealed inside the innermost chamber at the moment of summoning, wailing and shrieking in terror.

Therefore, there exists only one method of escape from this predicament; by sacrificing a command seal, Caster gains the ability to operate beyond the confines of the castle for a brief period, akin to possessing Independent Action E. Additionally, she may consume excess prana that has permeated the castle walls to extend the allotted duration.
Dorotya - Repulsive Servant of Blood
Rank D | Type Anti-Unit | Range One to Ninety-Nine | Maximum No. of Targets Five Hundred Persons

Due to the extent of her criminal activities, it became imperative for Caster to engage accomplices to execute her whims and desires while perpetrating the murder and torture of numerous children. In her capacity as a Caster servant, she can manifest up to three of these co-conspirators as specialized familiars, with whom she can share sensory experiences.

This trio consists of the same maidservants who, in life, accompanied her and were subsequently captured, sentenced, and executed by being burned alive at the stake. Consequently, they possess a shared rank in the Torture Technique and Charisma skills manifested in Caster, and further receive bonus modifiers on all checks involving deception, trickery, coercion, seduction, and falsehood aimed at luring young girls into Caster's malevolent grasp. In turn, this may be accomplished through extending invitations to birthday celebrations, organizing extravagant balls, facilitating illicit activities, attending social engagements, or even offering tutoring in the refined arts of science, painting, and music.

However, due to their inherently low parameter rankings, their combat experience is minimal, rendering them easily defeated by even the weakest Servant. Should one or all three of them be vanquished, Caster can recreate their existence through a ritual involving prana and blood, provided they have not been eradicated using high-level exorcism techniques.

Additionally, the trio of familiars shares an intriguing characteristic; they bear the names of the three most loyal maids of Elizabeth Bathory: Dorotya Semtesz, Ilona Jo, and Anna Darvoyla. They assume the appearances of a seemingly benevolent grandmother, a seductive femme fatale, and an innocent-looking young girl, respectively.

The implication here is that Lancer Liz is a big, fat, lying liar that lies. On that note, I've never really liked her having Innocent Monster anyway. It would make sense if it did the same thing as Chad Extra Vlad's, because no portrayal of Ezerbet has ever made her a dragon.

Could I ask why? Most of what I've seen about it points to her being guilty.

    “Greetings, esteemed Master.

To wish upon a star constitute the inaugural step in the noble pursuit of a 「dream」—mark thou, in undertaking such act, every single dream may well blossom into 「reality.」

Guarding the doors of possibility, here I stand, ready to lend an ear to your ambition. The realm I safeguard is one of imagination, hopes, and dreams. In a timeless land of enchantment, the era of chivalry, magic and the art of make-believe reigns anew—thus, fairytales come true. Fantasy is tendered to those youthful in spirit, to all who dare to wish upon a star. In essence, I come for the dreamer in a dreamless land.

—Or, you may refer to me as your 「fairy godmother.」 Indeed, that would be greatly more expedient than addressing me as Queen Victoria.

Oh...? Oh, dear me, I have failed to properly introduce myself, have I not? Alas, that, I did... Albert, why did you not prompt me regarding this most vital of matters? You silly thing, you have rendered me a figure of folly before our Master!

—Ah, this? This is Albert, my little helper. He has grown so accustomed to fulfilling the role of my secretary, yet it appears that, on occasion, he too may exhibit a certain forgetfulness... Pray tell, what precisely is he? As you are well aware, a 「prince」 is solely intended for a 「princess,」 yet, as fate would have it, it would be too lonely to come by myself. Do indulge your godmother in this display of sentimentality, will you.

Well, now... Ushering the age of wide-eyed expectations, one might indeed deem me the godmother of Europe.

Yet, today, I intend to make only your dreams come true, no matter how unattainable they may appear. ‘Tis the power of fairytales, would you not agree? Why, yes, I perceive by this silence that you are beset by a torrent of emotions... You poor dearie... Your gratitude may be bestowed upon me at a later time, do not worry about it.

Pray, close your eyes and hold fast to your most fervent wishes.

Rest assured that I—the Queen who once lived in a beautiful world—shall make them come true. This time, that beautiful world shall be all yours to savour.”

    FOREWORD

“My dearest, dearest, dear Albert and his excessive love and affection gave me feelings of love and happiness I never could have hoped to have felt before”, a girl dared to write on a sheet of paper, once. The weight of those words frightened her, but still followed her for life. She accepted that bittersweet burden without ever understanding why she was deserving of it.

The woman who redefined Britain’s monarchy, Queen Victoria restored the reputation of a monarchy tarnished by the extravagance of her royal uncles. She also shaped a new role for the Royal Family, reconnecting it with the public through civic duties.

She was a towering presence as a symbol of her Empire, associated with the kingdom’s great age of expansion and economic progress. At her death, it was said that Britain had a worldwide empire on which the sun never set.

However, above every achievement, she was known for her beautiful love story.

No matter how long it has been since Queen Victoria and Prince Albert were married, their relationship remains one of the most well known in history. From the moment she had ascended the throne, she had resisted all attempts to force her into wedlock—despite some of Europe’s most eligible bachelors being paraded before her—but he was different. A brief encounter at celebrations for Victoria’s 17th birthday in 1836 had planted the seeds of an attraction between the pair, even though they’d not see eye to eye until much later... But even with this only evidence, it was clear that her marriage to the prince was born out of love rather than duty. Since then, they had become the protagonists of one of the most memorable tales of all.

The greatest queen to ever exist returns once again to the world that has once celebrated her, ready to shower the world in the same love she once knew, all the while donned in the gentle colors of a fairy godmother.

    CLASS SKILLS

Since it has pleased Providence to place me in this station, I shall do my utmost to fulfil my duty towards my country. I am very young and perhaps in many, though not in all things, inexperienced, but I am sure that very few have more real good will and more real desire to do what is fit and right than I have.

    — Queen Victoria

    Victoria Regina EX

The 「authority of a queen」—or rather, more than that, it is a Skill crystalizing the 「authority of Queen Victoria,」 conceptualized through the bonds of blood of her offspring, who went to spread her influence and her dreams all around Europe. However, rather than commanding allies through their lifeflow, she decided to do differently this time: and so, as the ever-powerful and dazzling regent of the mightest empire of the world, she commands Classes and abilities that were foreign to her during her life with the naturality of a genius. In other words, it is the privilege of always being 「the perfect Queen,」 even though she is set on her job as a fairy godmother right now. Which might just barely explain why she has the aura of an elemental fairy right now, if anything.

It has little to nothing to do with the original flavor of the Skill at this point, even with this amount of stretch, but perhaps such is her power and she can even bend the rules to fit her whims like that...

“Pray, allow me to elucidate: I have held manifold titles throughout the course of my reign. Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Empress of India, Grandmother of Europe... Just as one adorns a gown befitting each particular occasion, a monarch deftly navigates through their appellations with both wisdom and grace. The England of yesteryear has faded, and upon another’s head rests the crown nowadays, yet a lion, I contend, never relinquishes its majesty. Whilst I may now present myself as your gentle-natured fairy godmother, the powers encapsulated within my name continue to blaze with fervour—for they are my magic.”

    Item Construction A

As an archetype, the 「fairy godmother」 is a magical fairy-type being whose role is to help out others to grant their fondest wishes. Naturally, as a Queen and a Fairy, she is able to create many things out of mana—from fancy tea sets for an afternoon snack to a pumpkin carriage. According to her words, she could even recreate the fleet of ships of the Britain of old.

“I could hardly be deemed a proper Servant... Or even the most illustrious Queen of England—yes, yes, hold your applause for now—if I were incapable of conjuring some bits ‘n bobs from time to time, is it not so? Furthermore... A certain someone I loved dearly once said that just like each star is unique, yet contributes to the cosmos in its entirety, the radiance in you makes you who you are. And that is precisely who you need to be. Or, in smaller words so you won’t hurt your pretty head, stop fixating upon trifling particulars—merely keep wishing from the depths of your heart, and I shall take care of the rest.”

For as long as the dream continues, and for as long as a Master believes in their wishes, she is bound to be there, grandmotherly and smiling. The image of an untouchable, saint-like Queen that is translated into the capacity to birth anything, even 「miracles.」

    Territory Creation A

Although she thought having left all the power to influence 「reality」 itself for her Noble Phantasm, certain Skills in her repertory allowed her to tap into an endless well called 「miracles.」 She can conjure the whimsy and the dreams of the past, but not only that. Perhaps as a consequence of this ever-present ability, while close to her, one cannot help but to feel extremely invigorated—after all, under the protection of the Queen of Miracles, one can do anything.

In any case, this is not her only strength. That, because she is surrounded by a field of dreams that no amount of reality can shatter—a boundary of authority with a distant scent of rosemaries, a reminiscence of a place in which dreams were born and never died. Or, in other words, she is simply able to reshape the world according to her own will. Within the space of her territory, her word is law and her dreams are always real. Rewriting the rules of reality is but child’s play to a fairy godmother. Or a Queen, for that matter.

“If 「fantasy」 is just fantasy, and it cannot ever be deemed 「real,」 how then does it bestow upon us powers that we continue to use in the real world? Whenever 「fantasy」 becomes 「reality,」 it influences the real things in this universe. And humanity does term that which transcends their existence a 「miracle.」

Miracles arise naturally as manifestations of 「love.」 The real miracle is the love that inspires them. In this regard, all that springs from love is a 「miracle.」 Thus, they are assuredly real—and I serve as testament to that truth. Tread your path, dear Master, and may you perpetually discover miracles within yourself. Whilst I am present, I shall assist you in their pursuit. And, please... No need to thank me... Though I shall graciously receive them, should you feel compelled to extol praises upon this humble ol’ fairy.

—Oh? What’s with my expression? Please, it is not as if I am appalled that you are not immediately prostrating yourself in fervent devotion, truly.”

    Binding and Fettering B

In fairy tales, a fairy godmother’s job is to assist a character in achieving their objectives by granting their wishes, giving magical objects or assisting them in overcoming challenges. Therefore, it could be said that the archetypal figure, and this Queen Victoria by extension, is a representation of 「fortune.」

Originally a Skill from the Binder Class, it is attached to the Queen of Miracles in order to symbolize the contract between her and a Master: in which one is forever bound to dreaming, in which one is forever bound to shape those dreams into the world.

“Something, something, about wielding dominion over the fates of others by entwining their essence with my own through a bond of blood... My word, where have you heard such a tale? Oh, I do not assert that it is a falsehood—nay, I merely inquire as to the source of your intelligence.

Might it be that the very same little bird, perched upon yon bough, that sings with my own voice? I do recall that I was to be summoned as a Binder Servant, yet… Something had withheld this privilege from me—almost as if I am already here, somewhere, clad in this most peculiar Class. But lo, I find myself in the present as a Caster. What a mystery that is...

—Are you certain you know nothing of such matters, now, do you...?”

    PERSONAL SKILLS

She had lived long enough. The idol of her people, she had come to press on the springs of government with something of the weight of an idol, and in the innermost circle of public life the prevailing sentiment was relief.

    — Henry James

    Opal-White Star EX

In a traditional story, a hero is a being that defies all manner of danger in order to pursue a happy ending of their own. As an avatar of fortune, a fairy godmother is the personification of a 「miracle」 that is bestowed upon them in their journey.

In this sense, Queen Victoria was both the 「heroine」 and the 「miracle」 of her own story. As the face of an Empire, she had suffered many tries against her life—but all of them were unsuccessful. A crystalized legend that survived the ages and gave birth to an unnatural ability to manipulate 「danger,」 or in other words, the possibility of harm or injury, or even any kind of trouble. An idol of luck, it is only natural that her powers would envelop the very idea of 「safety,」 or else how could she be called a proper fairy godmother... Or so it is what she declares.

Her overwhelming magic powers are able to control anything that has to do with the lethality of an attack, which means she can transform blades into rubber ducks, bullets into candy, poison into summer rain. Ranged attacks will cross her boundary and become shooting stars. Explosions will turn into beautiful fireworks. Summons will become cute plush toys. The possibilities are truly endless—just like her magic.

    Just like her overwhelming legend.

“When one is faced with the threat of annihilation, they shall, by some marvel, endure... Plunge one into perilous circumstances, and they shall, perchance, thrive. Such is the wonder of the human spirit—when ensnared by threat, only then does one aspire to triumph. Or, that is to say, the light of a star is not a flimsy thing at all. Do not fret for my safety.”

「Spiritualism,」 the belief that the dead communicate with the living. Although the Victorian Era is often associated with scientific and technological progress, during those times, many Victorians were prone to the paranormal, supernatural and occult. Queen Victoria and Prince Albert themselves participated in Spiritualist séances as early as 1846—and for the Queen, that was an interest that was only deepened after his death.

Acquiring information using sight outside the normal range of detection about an object, person, or location, becomes possible—or, in other words, 「clairvoyance.」 At a high Rank such as this, the sightseeing of the future is not her only feature, but she can even detect spiritual traces and beings on the air.

However, this Skill is not limited to the prediction of the future, but thanks to the association with the deep spiritual beliefs of that time, all forms of 「divination」 become available to her as well, something that can be used on herself or in allies and foes. She says that, as a fairy godmother, it is only natural that one should know how to gauge the prospects of the one she is tasked to protect, but...

“When someone you love becomes a 「memory,」 that memory becomes a 「treasure.」 Or, to elucidate, the song is ended, but the melody lingers on. Albert—oh nay, little one, I speak not of you—he was the very essence of my heart, and upon his departure, the world...

——Oh, but what utterance can I convey that you are not already aware of? Even absent my gaze into your eyes, even without my tender stroke across your palm’s contours, I still perceive. Life is replete with sorrow, commensurate with the extent to which we permit our affections to bloom for others. Loss is a concept familiar to you, as it is to me. In this vein, our understanding for each other extends far too deep for my own comfort
    .”

Incidentally, when she is off the clock, she might use this Skill for side jobs as a fortune teller or a horoscope writer for Chaldea’s newspaper

It is said that 「science」 is a way of talking about the universe in words that bind it to a common reality. If so, then 「magic」 is a method of talking to the universe in words that it cannot ignore. In the beginning, God said to let there be light, ushering life into the universe with this action—and a distressed hero need only to pray for a wonder for the idol of miracles to grant their wish.

In other words, this is the power of absolute command, or the final word of a 「Fairy Queen.」

Pax Britannica means the peace imposed by British rule—that is, the practice of implementation of it. Put differently, it was a system of force that sang the benefits of peace. Peace for the purpose of profit and humanitarian advancements, the attempted elimination of piracy and slavery, and the propagation of Christianity and education. The British Empire of the 19th century was based on seaborne trade and industrial leadership, and they counted with the willing cooperation of native rulers and allied states. That is, this Skill that invokes the memory of a never-ending sunrise, it is the crystallization of the irresistible command upon anything or anyone, perhaps even herself.

By simply commanding, a myriad of powers can be acquired or taken away. Not only that, but she does not even need to profess her intentions out loud—merely having the 「intention」 is sufficient. It does not only encompass the ability to will oneself into acquiring unknown abilities, but it is also about the skill behind commanding an army to stand still, or even an enemy to forget how to breathe. The word of a Queen, after all, is absolute, and this Skill marks the impossibility of going against the greatest empire under the sun.

That said, even though she can do much with the power of 「authority,」 since she is a grandmotherly Servant full of love and wonder, she tends to favor benign miracles
    .

“Miracles do befall those who possess faith in their existence—that is rather romantic, albeit tremendously false. One might assert that a true miracle lies in traversing a world bathed in azure heavens and verdant foliage, rather than treading upon water or soaring through the air. The pursuit of knowledge and discovery is where all begins, yet at the stroke of midnight, dreams shall dissipate as fleetingly as hopes. What this wise godmother is trying to convey is that at times, the world shall ardently strive to deprive you of the solace of joy... And in such a moment, one must summon forth all their strength to resist.

Pray consider this as a lesson inherited from me, one which I find myself still endeavoring to comprehend at times.”

Writing to her eldest daughter Victoria in 1858 about the gloominess of Windsor Castle, Queen Victoria stated, “I long for our cheerful and un-palacelike rooms at Osborne.” After the premature death of Prince Albert, the queen spent more and more time there—it became a sanctuary for her after the loss of her beloved husband. As a benefactress, or an idol of fortune, through this ability she opens the doors of her paradise to all and everyone.

A Noble Phantasm that recreates the Osborne House, a royal estate amidst the southern English countryside, in the peaceful Isle of Wight.

As a 「linchpin」 to countless priceless memories, it was more than a residence: it was the place where miracles, love, and happiness began... And where they eventually ended.

A world cut off from the constant decay and destruction of rest of the planet. Daytime is filled with spring’s sunshine and the smell of summer, and night is wrapped in the autumn air and stars of winter. A world where flowers of all colors bloom on gently sloping plains.

In other words, the place in which a great, benevolent queen awaits until her triumphant return to bring true glory to Britain. 「

The laws of physics—even the laws of humankind—are but a mere suggestion within these fields. As the lady of these lands, she can ultimately change anything and everything, permanently or temporarily, from 「humans」 to 「objects.」

The boundless influence over her dominion extends to every aspect of an ally or a foe captured within her domains. As a Fairy Queen, it might be only natural that this influence gives her clout, allows her to pull over whatever she wishes and, above all, even make requests for people to change their minds about things that would normally be irreversible... Like, kindly asking them to stop fighting inside her beautiful fairytale, perhaps.

Her far-reaching connection to the land of dreams and make-believe won’t allow for immunity—which means that even a Servant with traits that originally were meant for them to withstand her brand of authority will find themselves, eventually, weak against the miracle of her existence.

However, the Osborne House is a place of peaceful respite and happiness, and blood shall never be spilled in its domains. The Queen only ever asks for foes to calm down and share a cup of tea with her.

She has given so much of herself to others, unaware that those who only know how to take shall ever be insatiable. As her fairy godmother, I shall endeavour to aid her on her journey... Yet akin to a wishing star, she need not perceive my presence for now. Merely basking in my light suffices, I daresay. —Moreover, I find no desire to critique her rather shoddy craftsmanship right now. I mean, behold those phantoms! Yet therein lies the exquisite tragedy of existence—despite the chill and the gloom, spring shall ever grace our presence. Yonder, in the resplendent sunshine, lie one’s loftiest aspirations. Though 'tis an unattainable wish, such folly had never deterred a dreamer from pursuing their reveries.

“She had not emerged from slumber, but rather has entered a preceding reverie, which itself does dwell within yet another, and thus continues ad infinitum, akin to countless grains of sand. The course she is to pursue is inexhaustible, and she shall perish over and over before she is truly roused... Yet, I firmly opine that love is deserving of any sacrifice. Its potency is such that it may never become a matter of contention.”

    Prince Albert

“Ah... Well... S-say, do you not think me amazing? Albert readily thinks so, my little dearie, however I await for your applause, indeed I do! Yet, I understand you require time to recover from gazing upon true perfection… ’Tis perfectly well, I can remain patient!

Ugh... Very well, I understand... You truly wish to know... Yes, yes. Then, I implore you to take a seat. Permit me to impart some wisdom unto you beneath the warm sun of a reverie. Or perchance, allow me to regale you with tales of myself, in some measure. Not that which adorns the annals of History, but that which dwells within the depths of my being. Even a fairy godmother merits a modicum of selfishness, if only once.

The manner in which I perceive it, the greatest achievement was at first, and for a time, a 「dream.」 The oak sleeps in the acorn, the bird waits in the egg, and in the loftiest vision of the soul, a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of 「realities.」

Yet, the essence of 「reality」 is likewise that which, when one ceases to hold it in belief, does not vanish. A sequence of unbidden transformations that, when resisted, only manifest ripples of sorrow. Thus, I might counsel you to pursue your dreams, for they invariably know the way, yet... Even as a fairy godmother, such counsel would be unkind. I cannot, with clear conscience, bestow upon you advice I am aware may not always ring true. Perhaps there are things even I am unable to do for you.

Words can be moulded into any form, after all. Promises may be uttered to soothe the heart and beguile the soul. In the final analysis, words signify naught.

—Yet, that is not particularly dream-like, is it?

I once chronicled my days as an exercise in dominion. ’Twas the singular moment in the day when I was permitted to be utterly candid with myself... Moreover, following the demise of Albert, and the death of my heart alongside him, it felt as though it was the sole avenue through which I could enlace with my humanity. I still recall the words. They seemed so frigid, so inconsequential, yet they continued to flow from the quill. “Last night, I wept.” Don’t you say so.

I wept, for the arduous transformation through which I have assented to become 「Queen Victoria」 had been fraught with anguish. I wept, for I was no longer Victoria, not in the manner that he alone uttered my name. I wept, for my eyes were at length unveiled to harsh reality... I wept because I could not believe anymore and I loved to believe.

I wept, for I had lost my heart and I was not accustomed to its absence anymore.

Pray, why do I make such a declaration? I suppose it is to ensure your comprehension—reality may be surmounted with ample imagination. Nevertheless, alas, on the reverse of the looking-glass, it shall remain immutable.

I possess little patience for entities devoid of soul, thus I shall not accompany you further. I shall not gaze upon the countenance of my reflection. You are alone now, I lament to say.

    But remember—it all starts with a 「dream.」

Yet oft, one is simply living in a 「nightmare,」 from which from time to time they wake in sleep.”

    FOREWORD

“The important thing is not what they think of me, but what I think of them.”

Given that this comes from one of the most famous monarchs in history, this quotation would appear brusque and arrogant. But if one strips the ego out of the statement and instead looks at it at face value, the statement has tremendous strength. To be able to see the world’s circumstances through a relatively neutral perspective is a cultured skill, but being a person of character is the high ground of a life lesson. As long as one is living a life so that they may hold their head high, everyone else is subject to their determination as to their validity of character and moral attributes.

She strived to be someone above all else, in every way it mattered. And in many of them, she succeeded.

At the height of the British Empire, a small island controlled roughly a quarter of the world’s population and landmass. To the architects of this colossus, the largest empire in history, each conquest was a moral achievement. And each achievement was dedicated—and largely attributed—to the presence of a mighty queen. Her wisdom and strength of character were the cornerstones of Britain, as they conquered everything in their path.

The black-cladded queen looks at a sleeping world with unclouded eyes, passionless and unmoving. She is conquest itself, and she has returned to remind the world about the never-setting sun.

    CLASS SKILLS

We will not have failure—only success and learning. Namely, we are not interested in the possibilities of defeat. They do not exist.

However, rather than commanding allies through their lifeflow as originally intended, as the ever-powerful regent of the mightest empire of the world, she commands Classes and abilities that were foreign to her during her life with the naturality of a genius. A force of nature hellbent in conquering and domineering, casually walking amongst men. In other words, the privilege of always being 「a mighty
    Queen
    demon King
    .」

At this point, it has little to nothing to do with the original flavor of the Skill, but her power and influence were always grand, perhaps so overwhelming that she can even bend the rules to fit her whims like that...

“One asks to be indulged, Mage. Are you a master or are you a servant? Do you bestow power upon others, or do you covet it solely for yourself? Do you strive for possession, or do your efforts aim to grant others their due? Is your blade a manifestation of your very soul—or is it but a burdensome tool, wielded with scant regard? Are you a soldier, child, or are you a savage?”

    Riding A

The ability to 「ride」 mounts and vehicles. In the case of Queen Victoria, who commanded the greatest Empire at the apex of its power, this Skill is deeply related to her ability to conquer thanks to the association to her treasury.

In 1296, the Stone of Scone, the pride of Scotland’s kings, was sent to the Tower of London 「in recognition of a kingdom surrendered and conquered,」 which meant that England’s influence was such that it did not even need to move to prove a point. It renders the functions of the Riding ability moot, in a sense, but in turn exemplifies that 「conquest」 is her mount, and she is the harbinger of it.

“This, indeed, was what One came to find. The triumph over solitude was the vital element which would one day transmute One into a Queen. Should you find yourself in this realm, unable to sever the ties of the 「loves」 and 「hates」 of yonder world amidst the rabble, the reminiscences shall surely overwhelm you, inundate you, and wither your resolve. Withdraw from all save this singular pursuit. Such is the grievous price of royalty, the utmost selfishness. Unless you cannot bury and conceal the thoughts of your dearest love, you shall be unable to maintain the kind of focus that shatters most men.”

In any case, just to make sure, she is not a true Horseman of Apocalypse. We cannot explain why she has the riding abilities of one...

    Magic Resistance B

The 「anti-magic」 possessed by the untouchable Queen.

During a hundred years, Britain enjoyed unchallenged power, even adopting the position of the planet’s 「watchdog.」 In particular, it was said that every maritime route was under the country’s thumb, but military advancements and the hold of enlightenment and reason were also part of its domains. And as such, any sufficiently advanced concept is indistinguishable from 「magic.」 Following this logic, it could be said that she even controlled magic itself—having, therefore, a natural resistance to it by means of understanding it completely.

“What renders mankind so apprehensive of the unknown? Alike to the creatures of yore, naught remains of it in this realm. The final of the conquerors, the advent of the last explorer, has already perished beneath a name accursed. The curtain has fallen upon that epoch of History... By none but arbiters fashioned by mankind. The world is now ruled by hydrogen bombs, ballistic missiles and rockets capable of striking the moon. And the dread evoked by them is most acutely recognized. One must confess, even, a certain envy.”

    Anti-Humanity E

An attribute given to those who goes against the reality of humans, or in other words, the capacity to oppose 「Alaya.」 An ability that puts a stop to everything created by humanity, along with the disruption of any laws that work in their favor. A Skill inherent to beings of the Beast Class, marking them as the eternal enemies of mankind, destined to be defeated.

She never harbored any hatred towards humanity—rather, she did not harbored any sentiment at all over them. To the physical representation of subjugation, it wasn’t even a personal grudge or an overwhelming greed that moved her body, but merely her unchecked nature. Her brand of dominion would put her at odds with the Human Order at large, but somehow she would keep moving.

There has been only one thing that, for a time, stopped her. But even that person eventually became a memory.

“Life has a peculiar inclination to revolve in circles. Ideally, it would traverse a rectilinear course—wherein one should ever be aware of their destination and could smoothly advance, casting aside all that once was. Yet, when one endeavours to progress, it often ensues that they retrace their steps, for one carries the weight of all their burdens.

We often forget that which we fervently wish to recall... Whilst we imprint upon our minds the recollections we would rather disremember. The most disquieting aspect of memory is its inexorable nature. It has perfected an unfathomable craft of oblivion, erasing, smudging, and filling the voids with fictitious details. It compels One to acknowledge that they are no longer a mere 「woman」 but rather a 「queen.」 One’s comfort bears little significance, and One’s existence is of scant worth. The majority of One’s obligations may be of a disagreeable nature, yet such concerns are not One’s to ponder.

—The world had indeed prepared One for this, albeit not for dreams adorned with blossoms. A dismal contemplation, is it not? Yet one may only play the hand dealt to them.”

    PERSONAL SKILLS

She is born to rule men. She is like me, we are both rulers.

    — Cetshwayo

    Shaded Brinicle EX

Queen Victoria had a majestic reign but despite this, she was not universally loved. While some people protested against her, others had a slightly more radical method. Until the 1880’s, at least seven attempts of assassination were made on her life—however, her courageous and at times even unfazed attitude towards these attacks were a source of great strength towards her popularity. While not all Victorians were enthusiastic monarchists, usually, attacks on the Queen prompted intense outpourings of emotion. As Victoria herself quipped, “it is worth being shot at to learn how much one is loved.”

Just like the queen continued to appear publicly despite the fears of violence, sometimes even finding in herself the strength to scoff at danger, the crystallization of her 「ruthlessness」 could ever only follow in her steps.

She was Britain itself, imposing and untouchable. And so, through this ability, this characteristic continues to materialize, and in turn makes the likelihood of anything that is considered 「harmful」 to ever touch her null. In short, it makes it possible so she can defy all forms of danger—no matter how deadly, dangerous, risky or difficult. The Rank makes it so that even intense outbursts of emotion will be promptly quelled, should they harm her in any way, be it emotional or physical.

A queen that can defy any kind of probability, that is able to crush any kind of danger. No matter the threat of death, no matter how low the odds are, just like the stories of the old, she will overcome any challenge, she will win any war. Advance, Britannia—immortalized, even if changed, just like the old world.

“This One beseech you, do not implore for shelter from perils, but rather for the fortitude to confront them unflinchingly. Never has there been a conflict that was not waged between two factions, both convinced of their own righteousness. The truly perilous souls are those who labour under the delusion that their actions are executed solely by virtue of their inherent correctness... And therein lies their menace. Ah... But such supposition connotes a semblance of 「equality,」 akin to waging war upon a neighbour. However, such is not the nature of our proceedings here. One shall simply seize, and One shall indiscriminately crush. The plight of mere ants holds no significance to this One.”

    Unlit Tide EX

In the Book of Revelation, this is said: And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him.

The Opium Wars in China found between 18,000 to 30,000 deaths, although no one could figure an exact number even to this day. Similarly, in 40 years, British colonialism killed 100 million Indians, directly or indirectly. Britain was a powerhouse who took to itself the task to protect the world, but slowly their definition of 「world」 became narrower and narrower, until their borders were surely the borders of the Universe itself, and everything else was of little importance. To the 「not humans」 on the other side of this definition, to them there would never exist the possibility of mercy.

As such, through the Skill, she is the 「embodiment of horror.」

Dread, fear, horror and terror. By manipulating the pulsating urges in people, animals and other creatures, whether by increasing, decreasing, causing or otherwise channeling fear, even manifesting the emotional energy to physical level, she controls horror itself. Fear is control, control is fear—such was the motto of the Queen of Miracles. To fear even the most harmless of things to the point of becoming catatonic, always looking back, always fearing the day those eyes would turn to their land, ready to ravage their history.

Incidentally, the ability doubles as a Civilization Erasure Skill on the same level, which might explain why everything she faces reflects this particular perspective.

—Perhaps, rather than enjoying one’s suffering, she simply envies how that makes one alive.

Should a lion be swayed by the yapping of the hounds, it would find itself the jest of the jungle. Nevertheless, One finds herself in a particularly gracious mood towards you this day... Rejoice, child. Rejoice, and ponder with great care. Britain did once exult in One's victories, finding therein joy and a sense of importance, thus did One conquer, too, on their behalf. Pray, inform this One then, what monstrosity must One vanquish? What treasure must One pilfer? Reveal to this One the enigma One must unravel or the crone One must deceive. Simply disclose the path, and One shall undertake it, irrespective of peril, toils, or expense. Thus is the nature of the devotion One offers to One’s summoner.”

    Blacken Maelstrom D

A power that grants to one person the right to rule, to enforce orders and to establish laws within their dominion. That, is 「authority.」

The Corona Radiata, or the sun crown, was one of the first human-made symbols of authority on the planet, and one of the earliest crowns worn by a British ruler, according to archeologists. Edward the Confessor wore a crown at every opportunity to assert authority over his territory, and at his death, after being made a saint, objects connected to his reign became holy relics. His bright crown, a priced treasury of the Crown Jewels, became the symbol of kings. Therefore, it is understood that the sun crown is an inescapable authority known and recognized by 「humans,」 made to be used against 「humans.」 The queen of the Empire in which the sun never sets, therefore, is the sun itself.

Befitting the empress of the globe, through the Skill, she can dominate anything and everything, transcending all forms of resistances—an authority that extends to every corner of existence. An unstoppable force of conquest, capable of bending the will of individuals, subjugating entire civilizations, and reshaping the fabric of reality itself.

Working as a Territory Creation Skill on the same rank, she is always surrounded by a field that denies the authority on others, while enforcing her own. Like an unstoppable wave, her influence spreads and consumes everything in its path, assimilating all that exists into her 「domain,」 or in other words, into 「Queen Victoria’s Britain.」 And in it, her influence is absolute, and resistance is futile—everything and everyone ultimately becomes an extension of their will.

“The strong do prevail over their adversaries, the mighty do crush them, and the shrewd do outwit them... This world is destined for those who are fated to conquer it, rather than for those who merely dream they possess such power, even should they be correct. Yet—One daresays, there exist far more instances of the curtailment of the liberties of the populace through gradual and insidious encroachments by those in positions of power, than through violent and abrupt usurpations.

Nevertheless, wherever there resides a man who wields authority, there too is a man who contests such authority... And therein lies the enjoyment of existence. Pictures of perfection, as you are aware, brings One naught but revulsion. A hammer, now and then, does require a nail. One crafts one of them yonder, and they validate One’s existence for all eternity. Indeed, we each have our parts to enact.”

Curtana, the Sword of Mercy, is one of the Crown Jewels of the United Kingdom. Said to be, once, the holy knight Tristan’s sword—or in tales with far more historical accuracy, the sword of Edward the Confessor—is a weapon deeply associated with the coronation of Britain’s monarchs, to the point that it became the symbol of many of them upon summoning, each aspect of it tailored to suit the Servant who calls upon the blade. However, usually its end is blunt and squared to symbolise piety towards foes.

Symbolizing the far-reaching control of Queen Victoria during her reign, the sovereign of an empire that reached most of the world known to men, this is a Noble Phantasm that manipulates the very concept of 「authority.」

Using powerful slashes as conductors for her authority, she is able to impose absolute commands upon anything, living and non-living existences, even natural or supernatural phenomena alike—after all, England was 「the world」 and she was its queen. Naturally, she was 「the world」 itself by that logic, and so would be able to bestow orders upon what is natural from it.

The will to be applied to achieve virtually anything through sheer force of intent.

The control over any dominion—her orders, her decisions and her laws being completely irrefutable and impossible to disobey.

The complete hold over 「emancipation」 and 「enthrallment」 of any concept—free will, personal abilities, history, individual characteristics.

Perhaps, even the absolute change of the laws of the universe could be possible, for Britain was the very universe, and she was the very queen of it. But above all else, above every other ability granted to her through the control of authority—

—Curtana is a sword of mercy, with a blunt tip.

A sword made not to 「kill,」 but to 「incapacitate,」 in the highest form of mercy bestowed by a ruler.

After all, if she disappeared with all of those who opposed her, then she would have nothing else to look forward to. The world would truly be all hers, to look at from above a lonely throne. The thrill of the hunt is half the fun for a lion, or so they say.

—Incidentally, perhaps because Queen Victoria was known to like to dance, the Servant tends to perform dance-like movements with her sword as she moves around in a battlefield. In this sense, for the sake of freedom of movement, perhaps this is why she came to be summoned with so little clothes when she was known to be extremely prudish in life.

Or maybe, she just likes short dresses now. Who knows...

“Affection and forbearance were the particular gifts of Albert. He possessed a nurturing spirit, fervently believing in the potential of others—thus did One found herself so profoundly adrift in the wake of his passing, for he was the very essence of One’s heart. As for this One, One indulges in a far more rudimentary dialect: 「conquest」 and 「dominion.」 One did, indeed, triumph over you, yet in due course, you too have laid claim to One’s heart. Such was an error upon One’s part, to expect not to be cursed.

One has come to discern that every exertion of authority is tinged with a subtle, often nearly imperceptible, measure of disdain toward those upon whom such power is wielded. One may only subdue another’s spirit if they possess knowledge, comprehension, and with the utmost delicacy, a measure of contempt for the individual they subjugate. Which, One surmises, prompts a mutual disdain between us. And yet, One cannot unearth within herself the animosity One ought to harbor for you, whose actions have severed One’s heart from her. Neither do One finds solace in the knowledge of your demise, shared as it is with One’s own, filled with sorrow and solitude. Ah, truly... Once they have departed, one’s heart...”

    Prince Albert

“Have you ever known the pangs of love? It is a most dreadful plight, is it not? It renders one most vulnerable... And thus, was one of the many lessons imparted to One by Albert.

What One gleaned from his presence is that naught does render a chamber more desolate than the yearning for a soul to share it with. One discovered that One would eternally hold a candle for him—even unto the moment it seared One’s very hand. And when the luminous glow had long since faded... One would remain ensconced in the darkness, clinging to the remnants, quite simply because One could not relinquish One’s hold. A most ignoble weakness One laid bare before the world—but such was One’s existence, such was One’s demise.

Once, One had a companion who lent meaning to each passing day, and then, in an instant, One was adrift... And all semblance of meaning dissipated.

—Yet, this was not an unfamiliar plight for this One.

One have traversed life as an empty vessel throughout One’s existence, until One encountered him. A receptacle fashioned to be a 「Queen,」 yet unacquainted with the essence of being 「Human.」

It was dear Albert who bestowed upon One a 「heart,」 and verily, he was the one who carried it hence upon his departure.

One would gaze upon his progeny—endeavouring to recollect that they were our children. One’s contemplation would oscillate between an excessive scrutiny and a most insufficient regard. On certain occasions, One would find it quite delightful how they discerned the good in mankind, aspiring to render the world a more amiable abode, or how they endeavoured to uplift One’s spirits in their own quaint manners... Conversely, there were days when One could not help but hold them in bitter contempt for their mere existence. One would abhor them all. Oftentimes, One would converse with them not as individuals graced with names and aspirations, but rather as mere extensions of Albert. And when One glimpsed a fragment of herself mirrored in their gaze, One was seized with revulsion.

Would he feel naught but shame for this One, did he possess the ability to perceive One’s musings? One could jest at an assassination plot, dismiss a war proclamation from a foreign power... And yet, this vexatious thought ensnared this One with paralyzing dread each time.

At times, One found herself yearning to... To... Yet, One would never dare to entertain such thoughts. Naturally not... For One would contemplate his feelings, envisioning the extent of his disdain towards Oneself. Such reveries alone were sufficient to quell the impulse.

What One lamented most was the absence of that profound connection—knowing he existed somewhere, dreaming about this One, whilst One, in turn, dreamed about him.

—Love is a most grievous affliction, is it not?

It was most fortuitous that One reverted to One’s erstwhile habits. Every soul appeared far more content in such a manner—the realm thrived under a more efficacious queen.

Yet, One found herself, at intervals, reflecting—

Upon that child, devoid of both affection and animosity—

That child, who knew not the essence of being 「inhuman,」 as she had yet to experience even the realm of 「humanity」—

And in spite of Oneself, One perceived her as wretchedly pitiful.”

    FOREWORD

“A woman on the throne of England—how ridiculous!”

These words were uttered by Prince George of Cambridge, after he’d been pushed far from the succession by his little cousin, Alexandrina Victoria. And many at the time agreed with his assessment.

She was born in the midst of a succession crisis, and yet, thanks to luck and determination, one day she would become the woman who redefined Britain’s monarchy, Queen Victoria. She restored the reputation of a monarchy tarnished by the extravagance of her royal uncles and also shaped a new role for the Royal Family, reconnecting it with the public through civic duties.

She was a towering presence as a symbol of her Empire, associated with the kingdom’s great age of expansion and economic progress. At her death, it was said that Britain had a worldwide empire on which the sun never set.

Even the mighty queen who casted such a huge shadow on the world was, once, a little budding flower hampered by a plain appearance and a shy disposition.

The memory of a grand queen lives on in the melancholic eyes of a Servant who sees a world not hers yet—one that will never be.

    CLASS SKILLS

Then, dear Mamma, I hope you will grant me the first request I make to you, as Queen: let me be by myself for an hour.

    — Queen Victoria

    Camouflage D

The hallmark of a being summoned under the Faker Class, it allows a Servant to mask and change the appearance of their parameters, Class and, in rare cases, even their appearance. In short, it is a Skill that denotes a Servant’s ability to convincingly pretend to be someone else.

「Alexandrina Victoria」 is an egg that one day will birth the being called 「Queen Victoria,」 or so has History decided. But, ultimately, she is not that legendary queen. She is the plain, unassuming girl who wished to be alone with her thoughts, the girl who wanted only to understand what even they could possibly be about.

Her receptacle may retain signs of the woman she one day will become, and under dire circumstances she could even begin to tap into the authoritative presence of that queen, but in the end, those are just faint certifications that someone might recognize. “Oh? This shrinking violet is to become our Queen?”

—However, this Skill also has nothing to do with the efficacy of her Noble Phantasm. One thing is one thing, another thing is another thing.

“My dear Mamma was ever by my side, and yet... I have always comprehended that we are all solitary beings, brought forth alone, destined to depart this mortal coil alone, and—despite what the fanciful narratives of romance may espouse—we shall one day reflect upon our existences and discern that, notwithstanding the presence of others, we traversed our paths in solitude. I do not assert that we are forsaken... At least, not perpetually... But fundamentally, and ultimately, we are alone. I do ponder why the Almighty has bestowed upon us the burden of longing for companionship nonetheless...”

    Independent Action D

Although her path to the throne was not obvious at the time of her birth, as the years of her childhood passed and as her elder cousins failed to thrive and died, Alexandrina Victoria grew in importance. It gradually emerged that the little girl growing up quietly behind closed doors at Kensington Palace would one day reign over the whole of Britain.

The 「Kensington System」 was a strict set of rules concerning Alexandrina Victoria’s upbringing. Never being allowed to be apart from her mother or caretakers, although said to protect her from the association to her unpopular uncles and to be a fresh start of sorts as a queen, it was ultimately aimed at rendering the young princess weak and dependent, and thus unlikely to adhere to any other relatives.

Although as a Servant she does need no minders anymore, it seems that the memory sinked deep enough that it manifested as a low Rank in the Skill.

“I was imparted wisdom by one whom I cherished dearly, that when we unveil our tale to a soul who responds with compassion and comprehension, the affliction of shame cannot endure... I beg your pardon, is what I convey by this. It appears that I shall be a burden upon you...”

    PERSONAL SKILLS

What I wished to say is that I understand more than you think of what your life is. I know what it is to live alone, inside your head, while never giving a clue as to your real feelings.

    — Prince Albert

    Mystic Eyes of Providence
    Reverie EX

Humankind’s oldest magecraft, a 「mystic eye」 is a form of supernatural power concentrated in someone’s eyes, granting the power to interfere with the outer world through sight alone.

“That child was born under the sign of dominion”, they had declared at her birth. She would not know of it, but her path had already been given by her 「Origin」 and any obstacle would be taken care of, in time. Not believing at first, the Duchess of Kent had a taste of that destiny when her husband passed away. His death allowed her and the young princess Alexandrina Victoria to be moved to Kensington Palace. From there, 「Providence」 allowed a cousin to die an unnatural, unexplained death—or an uncle to not produce any surviving heir. 「Providence」 allowed a forgotten princess to climb up the ranks, until there was no other heir presumptive but her. The inherent compulsion called 「Origin」 carried that girl to the throne, even though she had been isolated for the benefit of a world not yet ready to welcome something like her.

She was born under the sign of dominion—born to rule. It was a compulsion that would be sadly concretized, and those eyes would defy all danger so she could survive until then. A natural weapon that sees through all things and will distort even causality itself to create 「a future in which no harm befalls Alexandrina Victoria.」

During her life, Queen Victoria survived seven attempts on her life.

This Servant knows that danger will come to her—and knows that it will pass her, for such is her fate. She can only hope these close scrapes with death will stay on a single digit number.

“I find myself unable to recall a time when I was cast off by peril as it approached me... Indeed, my rearing, albeit somewhat sheltered, imparted the lesson that as a queen, I would be perpetually under the keen eye of scrutiny and observation. Many would pass judgment upon me, and on occasion, that judgment might indeed be a guilty one—danger would become my lady-in-waiting, should I put it thusly. Yet, I distinctly recall the dread I felt in the company of Albert at such attempts. In those moments, I fancied that I could suffer no further horror, nor be wounded anew... It appears to be a prevalent folly, believing oneself so irrevocably scarred that the very essence of injury renders one invulnerable.

Is it not peculiar? The prince, destined to be mine only when I ascend to queenly stature, remains vivid in my recollection even now. Perchance he is the solitary memory I shall never relinquish, regardless of the condition of my summons.”

    Victoria Regina
    Trance EX

「Alexandrina Victoria」 is a seed from which will sprout the being called 「Queen Victoria.」

In either of her stages, for herself, she is not a being full of interesting facts about herself. One could say she was the mother of the deeply conservative and prudish 「Victorian culture,」 or that she was the queen who popularized waltz as a musical genre in her country, or black as a color for a dress. Even her husband, Prince Albert, has more notable achievements attached to his name—such as being the mind behind the Great Exhibition, for one. However, she was both the representative of royalty and the figurehead of an empire on its apex, and those are usually the templates from which she extracts her abilities, in the shape of Crown Jewel swords or historical anecdotes.

Being a young seedling does not stop her from tapping into the 「possibility of Queen Victoria,」 for it is this very possibility which is the basis of her legend. It could be said that her history is so overwhelmingly weaved by her own point of view that it’s simply impossible to not see, on some level, as the Queen.

Naturally, to exemplify such a paradox, she is given her moniker, Victoria Regina, and the powers behind this title. Perhaps, this has even been the culprit behind she retaining the memories of her future self, instead of being a fully-realized Lily version of herself.

In short, it is a sub-species of Imperial Privilege, specifically tailored to her and no one else—a queen that once ruled 「
    Britain
    the world
」 can allow herself to be selfish, from time to time.

“I have always held the belief that Albert and my children displayed a valiance far surpassing my own timid heart. Until the very end, I found myself incapable of imparting unto them the truth of my dread... It was not merely that my affection extended to 「some」 of them, but rather that I perpetually pondered whether their love could encompass more than 「some」 of me, should they unearth the true nature of my soul.

—Then, I was gone, bereft of the opportunity to convey such sentiments. Our distance remained ever insurmountable.

And upon the reawakening of my senses, I became acquainted with a sorrowful tale, that of a young lady poised upon the threshold of her own becoming... A lady who may lack clarity in her desires, and remains ignorant of her own identity, yet undeniably merited the chance to discover her essence. Alas... She was always so very slow on the uptake, that young lady...”

Incidentally, the original flavor of the Skill was to be called Lightless Jewel of Void Misfortune, indicating an achievement that was, at least, undoubtedly hers: herself as a new link in the endless chain of owners of a cursed diamond. However, Queen Victoria herself said to dislike both the bloody history of the object and the way it was acquired and given to her, and said the jewel should be relegated to oblivion with the other Crown Jewels instead after her passing.

—She could simply have given it back to India, you say? Hell no, are you crazy?!

Anyway... Naturally, the Skill’s name was promptly changed to reflect her lack of care towards it, and something else was decided instead... Maybe, it was for the best...

    Nega-Authority
    Mirage
    D

The condition of being superior to others in 「power,」 or the state of holding 「dominion」 over something. In other words, the power to overthrow 「authority.」

The great British Empire was a powerhouse that conquered and dominated anything it set its eyes on—it was the very essence of the strong making the weak submit. And one could say that the mighty queen of such an Empire, being the Empire itself, would also be the figurehead of 「conquest.」

However, Alexandrina Victoria always had in her, even before becoming a queen, the possibility of catastrophe. If a butterfly’s wings can cause hurricanes somewhere in the world, what would the will of a girl that could only share a shapeless love with her shapeless people through the dominion of those shapeless lands bring?

Her essence would make sure that she could crush every authority and every power, for dominion was the star of her birth.

And so, to remove the 「authority」 of something or someone is just natural. Being it the right to act in some way, or the power to give orders and make decisions, the possibilities are truly endless. Some examples could be to take away the authority of a foe over their own abilities, to apply an absolute command over something or someone to suit her own designs, or in higher Ranks perhaps it could even change the very structure of the universe.

As it happens, when a princess from Brazilian shores gave up the authority over 「authority」 itself, another seedling of catastrophe took its mantle—or so it’s believed. However, much to one’s relief, neither Alexandrina Victoria nor Queen Victoria seem to hold any inclination for Beasthood, at least for now. That does not make her any less of a candidate, should the fact she already holds this Skill means something.

“Life does persist, even after the music ceases. I was a queen, albeit without a happy ending of my own, yet there was no conclusion for me as of yet. And one fateful day, I found myself weary. Not worn out, but worn through... Like one of those spouses who awakens one morning and proclaims, ‘I can no longer bake any bread.’

In my youthful days, my existence, empty as it was, was akin to a symphony that crescendoed ever louder, peaking when I found that person
. I was... Happy, for some time. Despite myself, I was happy. Yet, there I found myself in the end... Dispensing the only affection I possessed amidst those who would not even embrace me upon awakening from a distressing nightmare in the middle of the night.

I squandered my years acquiring the art of feeling less, when I fought so hard to feel just
a little... With each passing day, my emotions dwindled... Do you know whether that was me, growing lonely and old? Or could it be something far more ominous, like me never being able to run away from my true nature?”

    NOBLE PHANTASM

    Sunna Ampulla
In the Back of Her Mind, Behind the Sun

    Rank EX
    Anti-Concept (Self)

Believed to have divine origins, the ampulla in a British regalia, a vessel from which the anointing oil is poured at the coronation of a new British sovereign. In terms of religious importance, the object is second only to Saint Edward’s Crown.

Thus symbolizing the coming of a glorious monarch, this Noble Phantasm is the breaking of the egg called 「Alexandrina Victoria,」 so the queen she will become one day can finally be born. In other words, an instant and perfect reenactment of a particular state of her life. Not only that, but just like it is said that the soil will influence the growth of a tree, the many decisions of a Master during the period they were nurturing a princess will influence the type of queen she will become.

Queen Victoria, the greatest queen to ever exist, ready to shower the world in the same love she once knew, all the while donned in the gentle colors of a fairy godmother.

Queen Victoria, the black-cladded queen who embodies conquest itself, returned to remind the world about the never-setting sun of her empire.

And perhaps, there are many other possible versions of that queen—versions that even herself isn’t aware of. As long as the seedling princess is shown a world of love, then it is only natural she will give that love back. Such was the lesson impaired by her by the person she loved the most.

One day, no matter what happens, she will have a crown resting upon her head, and a world under her feet.

What will become of that world, only the future knows—

It grieves my heart to witness its shameless promenade, masquerading as the finest triumph of that person. I feel compelled to grant it a death devoid of suffering, as a benevolent sovereign ought—yet, I find myself lacking in confidence, fearing I may be tempted to chastise it somewhat for its misuse of that esteemed name. Therefore, I beseech your aid, so I may assuredly execute that which is right and just.”

“Alas, there exists a multitude of people I must confront, yet I find myself lacking in courage at this juncture. However, I am certain that when I embark upon the solemn task of proper contrition, that child shall be the first to receive my humble apologies. Allow me to rehearse that moment with you, yes? Pretend you are my Vicky for a moment...

Ahem... Vicky... You are well acquainted with my anguish, my sentiments... For reasons unknown, you were amongst my most cherished allies. Therefore, to pay homage to the affection you have persistently borne for me... It may sound ungracious, yet I beseech you to cease your reveries concerning myself and your father. Fantasy is indeed a means of 「escapism,」 and therein lies its merit—if a soldier finds himself ensnared by the enemy, do we not regard it as his solemn duty to strive for liberation?—yet to live is to acknowledge that certain doors are irrevocably sealed.

I recall a wise adage positing that the mind does open and close four doors, as dictated by its necessities. The 「door of sleep」 grants us refuge from the world and its tribulations, allowing time to elapse and offering respite from our sorrows. Then there exists the 「door of oblivion,」 wherein some wounds prove too grievous to mend, or require an eternity to heal... And there lie memories that remain eternally painful, unreconciled by time. Time does palliate most afflictions, yet the others remain enshrined behind this door. Furthermore, there is the 「door of madness,」 invoked when the mind sustains such a grievous blow that it retreats into the abyss of insanity... There are moments when reality manifests solely as torment, and in order to extricate oneself from such suffering, the mind must forsake reality. Last on the list is the 「door of death,」 the ultimate sanctuary. Nothing can wound us after death, or so it has been conveyed to us.

You have traversed each of these doors, you are cognizant of their closure to you. Hence, I implore you as a mother, rather than a queen—depart, and find freedom in this new realm, unfettered by the specters of your progenitors, your husband, or your homeland. Life, albeit fleeting as a Servant, may only be comprehended retrospectively, yet it begs to be lived with purpose and forward motion.”

    Edward VII
“You had... Desired from me a love I could not bestow upon yourself—yet it is not your failing... I have ever been... Lacking in this regard. I find myself at a loss as to why your father remained steadfast with me throughout those years... But I digress... I wish I could express a desire to be your... 「Mother...」 Or perhaps your 「friend,」 should you wish to establish such a boundary... Yet I comprehend that it might seem disconcerting... ‘Wherefore was all this eagerness when I needed it most?!’, you might inquire, and I would not hold your outburst against you...

Perhaps I find myself in a state of happiness... And perhaps I am unaccustomed to the sentiment. I am relieved that you have discovered... You see, something beyond
my own self to cling to, and that you did not permit my specter to entirely engulf your essence... You cannot ever fathom how profoundly proud I was... Truly, I do not jest! Deep within, I was glad that you were always true to yourself... Even when your frivolous actions brought shame upon the Royal Family, or when you quarreled with your father—well, maybe I was angry at those moments, but... Anyway... It may seem an odd sentiment to convey, but... I thank you for being nothing akin to me.

And I... I do not mind if you find this strange, or if you will repudiate it. Consider it a curse, if you so desire! But know, I shall forever 「love」 you, in the singular manner in which I know how to 「love」 another. I... I beg your pardon for that, my child.

...No, no, I am stuttering too much yet. One more time, please? I wonder why I am so ill at ease in expressing my sentiments to him, of all my children.”

“Pray forgive me if I appear too presumptuous, but... Know that neither Albert nor I derived any delight in the deeds we performed upon you. I cannot vouch for him, yet as for myself, I harbor no pride regarding those days. Nonetheless, an apology shall not be forthcoming— for I acted according to the necessities of my station as a Queen, and were I still in that exalted position, I would do so again. Yet, I find myself sovereign over no one, any longer. And you are now a free man.

If perchance you do still consider yourself ensnared within a cage of mine own making, I beseech you to allow me to rectify this misapprehension—you are free henceforth, Duleep Singh. Go forth, take to the skies as you have long desired. And in a future time, when your ire and sorrow have been soothed—for I know you are strong and shall triumph over every ghost of your past—should you wish to serenade our window once more, or alight upon a branch in our garden in order to rest your wings... The fields of Osborne shall await the return of their son. We shall be prepared with tea and the delicacies you once cherished.

...Ah, I feel I will be yelled at right here at the end. Is it weird that I find myself anticipating such a prospect? To be hated is much better than to be regarded with indifference, I suppose.”

    Prince Albert
    (BnEl15)

“Ah, goodness gracious... I find myself unprepared for facing him... I beseech you, promise you will not mock me? I remain at a loss as to what words I might convey to him, precisely...

W-well… If I were to commence from some point... I daresay I would confess that I am tired. Tired, tired with nothing, tired with everything—should one bear the burdens of the world be a matter of personal volition, or perchance the circumstance of having no alternative?

My heart brims with all manner of revelations for Albert, yet at this present moment... I yearn not to elucidate a single thing. I simply wish to curl myself beside him in slumber, whilst he is already reclined, and merely listen to the rhythm of his heartbeat. Perhaps he shall inquire, ‘How fared your day?’, and I would retort simply, ‘It was well’, and that shall suffice. Thus, we would seamlessly resume from whence we paused.

You know... I find clarity now—I am no longer merely 「Alexandrina Victoria,」 the maiden destined to ascend as queen. Nay, I am likewise 「Alexandrina Victoria,」 the lady who erstwhile ruled as sovereign. I am free, in essence. And it is within this very emancipation that I feel most unmoored—

I now comprehend that I possess naught but my own self to present unto the world. And in the core of my being, I am acutely aware that this shall ever be insufficient. If I were to be graced with a blossom for every moment I consoled my thoughts with him, I could traverse this garden of mine for eternity—yet, what importance does this have? Is this truly sufficient? Can this affection be enough for him to pardon the manner in which I tarnished his remembrance? The way I tended to our progeny? The manner in which I permitted grief to engulf me? Would he indeed cherish a feeble woman, no longer a queen, one who cannot bestow upon him the very world?

I ought to find joy in the knowledge that he is out there, yet instead, I am beset with a profound sense of 「nothingness...」 A multitude of 「nothing」 encircles me of late... I feel most vacant, as though that which instills in me the capacity to feel, to ache, to laugh, and to love has been extracted with surgical precision, leaving me as nothing but a hollow shell. This torment has persisted since his departure from my life. I am so sorry for...

—See? Sorry, always sorry. What in the world can you buy with an apology?

I think that I find myself inclined to convey to him, above all else, that I harbour a wish. Whether he desires my presence at his side or not, I would like to implore him to permit me to express, once more, the depths of my love for him. In this manner, I shall preserve the memory within my own heart as well. It hath been an eternity since I last uttered such words...

And after such an occasion, I would most assuredly pledge that I shan’t encumber him as life does. He shall not be compelled to select me for the sake of propriety, nor from a trifling attachment to a 「me」 that has ceased to exist—he is unfettered from my hold, should he desire such liberty. I shall confine to my own heart all my humble aspirations... Baking him a cake, hearing him perform a new composition, strolling through the verdant fields of Osborne hand in hand. He has bestowed upon me sufficient joy.

Yet… perchance, if he deigns not to accept me again... Before we take our leave… I yearn to express that my heart was only born upon our first encounter. Indeed... I would like to extend my gratitude for his making me feel truly alive. Thus would the ache of separation bear some significance.

—That being said, mayhap I am permitted to entertain a fantasy wherein he would receive me, despite all that has transpired?

I shan’t linger in this reverie for eternity—no, I vowed to confront the truth in him—but... but... Perchance, I merely desire to remain in the comfort of this moment a while longer... Weak woman as I am...”

    Please consider Versailles as a close second theme of this sheet. This song is amazing, it was worth the wait. ;_;

So yes... 2025!WF will be all about wanking my blorbos and not caring if it makes sense for others.

In this particular case though, I thought it was very self explanatory that she was an "Arthur" kinda person, in which she was being raised to be an empty vessel for Britain until Albert butted in and screwed all their best laid plans. As he should, as the fairytale hero he is!

As for her two personas... I tried to gather everything I found about Queen Victoria out there. For some, she's this grandmotherly cool girlboss who ruled competently, and for others she's the face of these atrocities England commited when they were on top. That I dialed up both aspects up to 11... WELL, I SAID IT'S ALL ABOUT MAKING MY BLORBOS SPECIAL, DID I STUTTER?

Anyway, I'm so tired (you probably are too, this sheet is 10k I swear to god). I hope you had a good read. You can put this in a book tracker, even.

    Have a nice week!~

Just an amazing read, from start to finish. It's clear just how much passion went into this, and I'm probably going to need to read it through a few more times just to take it all in.

also glad this doesn't fit the contest prompt because damn would it sweep
