Stardust Days | Dead Apostle Sandbox RP

    Premise:

Somewhere, in a time lost to those alive today, stood a man, looking up at the moon with a reverence that could only be described as religious. He did not serve the tyrant that ruled over the moon itself. In fact, he was one of those that helped to defeat him. So why did he feel such sorrow? It was simple: he knew humanity could not rise to become something more.

The human order was weak here, where the order of the bloodsuckers was dominant. So if humanity could not overcome the menace, then why not become them? That was his dream, the only thing that he knew he could do, despite all the power he had.

And so, the old fool turned himself into something inhuman, a force that would turn humanity into its worst enemy- after all, it was for their sake, right? That was over a thousand years ago, when the great mage known as Aleksandrŭ Borisŭ perfected the core of a Dead Apostle Ancestor’s very principle. From that day on, he would seemingly disappear, not even given a number by the other Ancestors due to his absence.

It was never supposed to be this way. It was only supposed to be an easy task- be it the duties of a mundane student, or perhaps something like a mage assigned to this strange place. The large city of Borolensk was seemingly normal, yet had a lingering sense of doom beneath the surface.

Both the Mage’s Association and Holy Church sensed that something was amiss in that place, suspecting activity from Dead Apostles. It wasn’t a very serious assignment, as the suspected activity was only minor, and yet, one day, everything seemed to change.

A force that both the Mage’s Association and Holy Church had no knowledge about emerged from beneath the surface of the city, and an enormous number of individuals were changed into Dead Apostles, seemingly transformed overnight into the first stage. This, of course, wreaked havoc across the large city, both the Mage’s Association and the Holy Church quickly rushing in to secure the threat with as much haste as possible, barely covering up the damage that had been done from the mundane world.

The most affected areas were within the district of Mamna, where the esteemed University of Borolensk and various other academic centers were located. Despite the city’s large size, it possessed nationally-renowned educational institutions, and was surrounded by various other bigger cities that benefited from their prestige.

As such, it was paramount for the two organizations to secure the area, and to lock down the place with as much scrutiny as possible. They herded the remaining bloodsuckers to the district, locking down the area with the excuse of nuclear waste getting leaked into the area- which was luckily backed up by the previous history of Borolensk as a nuclear plant zone before it became a large city.

Using the city’s subway systems, they imprisoned the various bloodsuckers, as there were far too many of them to truly deal with at once, and a massive bounded field was set up around the district to keep prying eyes away. Some of these bloodsuckers were provided blood- little by little by the various rats and pests that populated the tunnels, and thus moved on to the higher stages of their kind. Though they were few and far between, these individuals would soon be blessed by the arrival of various Dead Apostles to the city. Yet, even without their help, some of these transformed bloodsuckers were able to ascend to the higher stages without the help of a parent.

The mass transformation of individuals that occurred in the city had not just attracted the forces of the Holy Church and Mage’s Association, but also the attention of quite a lot of Dead Apostles who became curious at the event, and most importantly, those few who knew more about the true nature of the event that just occurred.

They had suspected that the mage known as Aleksandrŭ Borisŭ had hidden himself away, waiting for a time to strike, but they never knew that he would be so boldly show himself in such a way. All three groups of individuals: the Mage’s Association, the Holy Church and the Dead Apostles know of six pillars- only one of which has been located- that hold the secret to what is currently going on in Mamna. The former two organizations know it is linked to the Dead Apostle Ancestors in some way, but do not truly know what to make of it, while few in the latter group that know of the existence of the lost Ancestor seek to do with it as they will.

The only pillar that is known is fought ravenously among the three groups, all vying to find the truth about the situation, whether out of duty or simple ennui. At day, it is relatively peaceful, but at night, the three forces of the city clash, leaving only vultures to pick away at their corpses. Some have escaped the city, but all will inevitably be pulled into the clutches of the city. After all, they have a connection with t he Lost Ancestor that cannot be severed.

The truth is, when a pillar is fed enough blood or surrounded by enough death and conflict, awakening and starting the process of awakening the others, each allowing the lost Ancestor to regain his consciousness and power. Will you try to usurp the Ancestor? Or will you let him awaken? Perhaps you might try to find a way out of the city? Who knows what you might do. As a famous mage once said: “Do as thou wilt, shall be the whole of the law.”

TL;DR: Shit is going down in some random Russian city, though you can still play outside of the city if you wish to conduct stuff outside of it.

I elaborated on it more in the document after seeing your question. If you have any further confusion, you can either ask here or in DMs.
