Summer 2024 Anime: You Either Die An Oshi No Ko Or Live Long Enough To Become Suicide Squad

Well we've got 4 days until new shows start and no thread yet, so here.

This season is looking pretty dead to me from the summaries. Oshi no Ko will be a hit, and I'll try Harley Quinn and friends just to see if it's a big a train wreck as I expect from everything else DC these days (except for the other Harley Quinn show). PA Works somehow has 3 show airing next season, A cheerleader one which looks like their usual fare, a adaptation of Rice and Ruin, and a wacky vampire youtube show. There's also that other V-tuber show that I've seen promoted for a while that looks interesting, and S2 of Tower of God and Megumi Terrace that I don't feel a big draw to but I'll try anyways.

Maybe it'll give me time to catch up on other thing I put on hold earlier.

Pfft, yeah right. I'll probably find out that there's 10 generic ass isekai revenge stories that have real compelling plot/art/worldbuilding in my normal 'try to watch every 1st ep' marathon and fall further behind.

Seeing "Oshi no Ko" and "Suicide Squad" in the same sentence is some fukkin whiplash bruh.

Oshi no Ko is pretty much a guaranteed. It's covering the best arc featuring best girl Abiko-sensei.
Nigejouzu no Wakagimi will probably be a better experience than the manga and improve my manga experience too by making me remember what their character arcs are about.
Sengoku Youko I'll definitely get there after finishing the first season (5/13 atm).
Sakuna I think is a game adaptation so worth at least checking out, I guess.
Tasuuketsu vaguely looks like a death game thing, so I might give it a chance too.

Isekai Shikkaku aka the Dazai Osamu gets isekai'd, no idea in what direction it's gonna go either full on tasteless suicide jokes or they gonna actually work with that.

Make Heroine ga Oosugiru!, No high expactations on this one but hopefully it gets a few chuckles out of me.

Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi just because it looks pretty.

Oshi no Ko - it's adapting the best arc of the story
Nier - I suspect Taro will make significantly bigger changes in the second half
Monogatari - Iunno what to expect after ZokuOwari but I'll be there for it

Shoushimin is by the author of Hyouka so I'll definitely give it a fair try.
Too Many Losing Heroines sounds terrible but I'm hoping I'm wrong because the designs are really cute.
Na-Nare Hana-Nanare looks bad but I'm still going to take a look for the Brazilian girl.
Also Monogatari is Monogatari.

I haven't really been following anime seasons for a few years now but this one is looking particularly barren of anything interesting, wow.
