I just did a brief read-through of the epilogue and I feel like Nasu really didn’t comment on MoonCancer… at all. OC3 seems entirely about Moon Cancer (an entirely new concept, albeit central to the themes of the chapter) and Archetypes, with MoonCancer the class being entirely incidental. I learned nothing about them.

May as well use the OC to talk about something completely unrrlated to the whole concept of OC to make it worth something at least LOL.

As random as this OC is, it should be the biggest hint towards the themes of Antarctica (no surprise there since Nasu wrote it). Basically what people were hoping OC would be in general, but so far it’s been pretty isolated. Paper Moon taught us everyone is an Alter Ego, cool. Id taught us not to hold grudges, cool. They’ve been enjoyable filler, but still filler. EoR had the virtue of setting up themes and plotlines for Part 2 as a whole, I feel like there is still something lacking with OC. Granted it’s mostly Paper Moon and I could go on about how Paper Moon is a bucket of missed opportunities, but Id also more or less caps off an arc that began in an event. It’s good but not quite relevant.

Anyway, Higashide will deliver as always.

Not surprising. It's a Chimera of Extra, Tsukihime, and SU merged grostequely that the underlying theme is obscured. The mention of Prez U is the only thing that made it visible.
