His Caster could be an interesting twist to make "Byronic Heroes" out of others, and the effects of his Byromania are subdued a bit in other classes, since the Berserker form embodies what most people think to see him as, thus it fulfills their expectations to the point of madness. I'm curious to explore his potential political and martial feats that were committed during the Greek War of Independence, and see how interesting the more "heroic" side of him is as the national hero that Greece sees him as. I was worried the concept of him being a Berserker was a bit of a stretch, but glad to hear it received as such. Man just wants his daughter that he never met to love him. For now, however, I'm gonna continue work on this genderbent Dietrich von Bern.

Also, summer celestial bunnies are good civ.

If Sunny's gonna make a swimsuit bunnygirl, so will I!
    Here's the original.

"The beach is so fun! I wish this day would never end."

    Summer Cain

    (Source)

    Class: Moon Cancer
True Name: The Man in the Moon
    Origin: ???
    Gender: Female (?)
    Likes: Playing on the beach
    Dislikes: Summer BBQ
    Alignment: Summer Evil
    Natural Enemy: Yue Tu (Summer)

    Parameters:
    STR: E
    END: D
    AGI: D
    MGI: A
    LCK: E
    NP: EX

    Profile:
A sparkling ocean under a blue, clear sky. A soft, white beach littered with festivities and beach huts. The smell of cheap junk food and the taste of cold beverages. The heat of the summer sun underneath a rented parasol. This is summer! This is the beach! This is fun!

On a complete whim, a certain bunny girl decided to play at the beach, causing her already volatile saint graph to change. Of course, no summer vacation is any fun without friends! Playing beach volleyball together, eating curry at the beachside restaurant, and recklessly challenging each other to swimming marathons. Such romantic sea foam adventures await you and everyone else that has been invited. So just take her hand and enjoy a dream-like experience that will last forever and ever.

You aren’t allowed to say no.

    Skills
    Class Skills:
    Magic Resistance A
Cancels spells of A-rank and below, no matter what High-Thaumaturgy.

    Territory Creation A
Creates a “Beach” where one can spoil away their summer vacation.

    Item Construction A
Able to concoct true immortality potions.

    Personal Skills:
    Self-Modification A
The aptitude to remold one's own body or merge one's own flesh with body parts of others. The higher the ranking in this Skill, the further away one is from being a proper hero.

Cain possesses a volatile body made of shadows. Normally, it just changes at random, but her current form allows her more flexibility in controlling her body. She is able to take any appearance she desires, as long as it is something that can be perceived. It is possible for her flesh to expand and absorb other people, making them become one with her. For the most part, though, she just uses this ability to change which swimsuit she’s wearing at random.

    Beach Flower A+
A Skill that determines how many looks from the opposite sex/of public attention one can gather at the beach.

For centuries, humanity has looked up to the night sky and gazed at the image of the moon, fascinated by its bright beauty. Cain’s ability to gather attention at the beach stems from an innate nature to attract the eye of man, separate from simple physical attraction. It is an innate impulse to gaze at the moon that has been recorded through human history. Regardless of personal taste or personality, one will find themselves looking at Cain while at the beach.

    Endless Summer EX
The ephemeral dream for an eternal summer. A wish for this majestic vacation to never end becoming the will to never stop playing.

For Cain, summer is eternal as is her wish to play at the beach forever. No matter the actual time of the year or the state of the world, summer will always live on within her, thus she will always live on with summer. All damage dealt to Cain will be reversed, returning her to her immaculate condition prior to the attack. This is the power of the summer spirit! … is her excuse but it’s actually just her typical immortality in effect.
    Noble Phantasm
“Welcome to Paradise. Please enjoy your stay.”

Luna Maria – Silent Sinner in Blue
    Rank: EX
    Type: Reality Marble

The true nature of Cain’s beach: an illusionary dream

Cain’s true identity is the Man in the Moon, a legend born from interpretations of the lunar surface. On the surface of the moon are large, dark plains referred to as the Lunar Maria because they were once mistaken for actual bodies of water. These false seas created patterns in the moon which people saw as the image of a man or other creatures. Hence, Cain’s very existence is formed from the lunar seas, so her body itself is the sea.

Cain’s entire body is a Reality Marble containing the seas of the moon. It is a malleable body made from shadows which she can manipulate through Self-Modification, shaping and expanding it at her will. Inside her body is the Lunar Sea, reimagined as a beautiful beach. Everything that one would associate with a beach and summer vacation is there, including sand, warm weather, tropical plants, beachside shops, an infinite assortment of toys, and plenty of sexy swimsuits. Undoubtedly, it is the ideal beach which contains the maximum amount of summer fun possible as dictated by Cain’s preferences. By luring in other people with promises of the ultimate summer vacation, Cain can pull other people into her body and absorb them, thereby throwing them into her reality marble. In other words, every person that is playing in her beach is someone she has absorbed. Inside the reality marble, there is an avatar of herself which will play alongside those who have been absorbed, allowing her to also enjoy the beach as well.

In truth, Cain’s reality marble is actually a dark desolate wasteland without any life much less fun. It a recreation of the lunar landscape; there is no clear water, no blue sky, or white sand. It is all a lie that exists in the mind of the beholder. Just as people once mistook the moon’s craters as actual oceans, those who enter her domain will perceive it as a wonderful beach and play with the illusion as they please.

Regardless of its true nature, those who play at Cain’s beach have genuine fun. And they will keep having fun, forever and ever, because there is no escape from the beach. Once you’ve been absorbed, you’re never getting out. Obviously, there are no convenient exits nor will Cain allow anyone to leave. All those who attempt to exit the vacation will be promptly defeated and returned to their previous festive mood. Furthermore, the concept of time and death are warped within the beach. An instant outside the reality marble can be a literal eternity within, so waiting for outside help is not an option. The sweet release of death is useless as well as everyone inside the reality marble is immortal. Those who play at the beach will never age and those who suffer injuries will simply have their wounds healed. Of course, the landscape won’t ever change either; the sun won’t set nor will anyone need to sleep. It’s not like a loop where the same day keeps repeating but rather a single day that has an infinite number of hours. No matter what, it will always be beach time.

All in all, Cain’s beach is the embodiment of a truly eternal summer vacation. It is her way of letting others experience the despair she felt, trapped alone on the moon for eternity. Summer vacation will never end no matter how long you experience it. So just have fun! After all, that’s the only thing you can do.

Technically, this is Cain’s only Noble Phantasm. The rest of her abilities can be considered sub-Noble Phantasms, side features of her Reality Marble.

    Endymion
    Endymion – Imperishable Night
    Rank: A
    Type: Anti-Army

“This is so much fun, right? Fun, fun, FUN! Ah, so so so fun!”

Beneath scorching summer sun, even one’s sanity is evaporated.

A Noble Phantasm that imposes an eternal slumber onto one’s consciousness so that one can enjoy the beach in a dream-like state. At its core, it is a mental interference effect that greatly reduces one’s ability for rational thought, lowering the chance that one may be able to perceive irregularities in one’s situation. The target’s emotions are not manipulated in any one, just their perception of the world. They become incapable of recognizing their surroundings, such as the fact that the sun hasn’t set for hundreds of hours or that they can’t remember how they ended up on this beach. Under these circumstances, one will mindlessly continue having fun on the beach for the rest of their eternal lives.

The origin of this Noble Phantasm is a modified form of the Curse of Artemis. Throughout human history, the moon has been considered a symbol of madness that steals the minds of mortals. Famous examples include the mad emperor, Caligula, who was loved by the moon or Astolfo, the paladin who lost his wits on the moon. Cain’s reality marble is technically the lunar surface so those who arrive on it have their rationality stolen. Stricken by lunacy, they are able to fully enjoy the many wonders of beach without thinking about the boring complicated stuff.

This curse of lunacy is applied automatically upon entering the Reality Marble. The Noble Phantasm, however, is not perfect. As time goes on, cracks in logic will begin to form and even a crazy man might find things strange. Perhaps, after a few years of playing, one might begin to regain one’s sanity. Of course, if this is discovered, Cain can manually reapply the curse again.

    Lunatic Runagate
Lunatic Runagate – Endless Eight Escape
    Rank: A+
    Type: Anti-Army

“Ara ara. Are you actually trying to escape? Too bad, it won’t work. GAHAHAHAHAHA!”

The sole path out of paradise.

If one is able to regain one’s sanity and wishes to leave the never-ending summer, then there is only one way out besides destroying the entire reality marble. For Cain, the moon was a prison which he was banished to for his sins. As such, it can be reasoned that cleansing those sins would allow one to escape.

Beneath the “Surface Level” beach, there are seven Chimeric Lunar Seas, dungeons of varying terrains filled with dangerous monsters and obstacles. Each dungeon represents one of the sins associated with the Man in the Moon. Similarly, at the end of each dungeon is a boss guardian that possesses the form of one of the interpretations of the Man in the Moon, such as Chang’e or Hina-i-ka-maloma. If one is able to clear all seven dungeons and defeat all seven boss guardians, then one will get the chance to escape. However, if one is defeated within the dungeon, one will be sent back to the surface beach where Cain will reapply the insanity effect and let you continue playing. But if one survives and makes it to the end, there is only a single obstacle remaining: the true final boss.

    CCC
    CCC – Crazy Cursed Creator
    Rank: A++
    Type: Anti-Unit (Self)

Jack and Jill went up the hill,
And the heavens came tumbling down –

The final form of Cain, the embodiment of Sin.

Within the Reality Marble, all interpretations of the Man in the Moon become true since the world itself is the source of those legends. Hence, Cain is able to access all of the possible powers of the Man in the Moon at once. By compiling these legends and mixing them together, Cain is elevated to the level of Sin, the Mesopatamian god of the moon and creator of all things.

Inside this eternal beach, the sinner becomes Sin and can manipulate the world as he pleases. Just as Hjuki and Bil, the two children who follow the moon, represent creation and destruction respectively, Cain possesses the power to create and destroy anything inside her innermost world. Whether it is an army of monsters or an unescapable trap, the only limit to her power is her own imagination.

The only thing she cannot destroy carelessly, however, are the people trapped within her world. To destroy would be to remove them from the world, so instantly annihilating them would just pull them out of the reality marble. The only way to stop them would be to kill them through normal means. Hence, Cain’s avatar will face the brave warriors who dare escape summer vacation as the ultimate last boss, fighting them with all the powers of creation at her disposal. To win is to defeat God itself; that is the requirement to be able to once and for all end summer break.

“I… won’t let you. Why are you trying to escape? Why do you turn your back on paradise? DON’T LEAVE ME!!!”
    Character
    Character Image:
Whether its summer or not, an Avenger’s anger never fades.

Summer Cain is the swimsuit version of Lunar Cain AKA the Man in the Moon. For strange reasons, the change has turned her from a proper Avenger to a crazy, super last boss Moon Cancer servant that you’d expect to fight at the end of a long RPG. Born from the lunar maria, her existence is one that embodies the idea of an eternal summer or rather the fleeting thought of “Ah, I wish summer break would never end.” It’s the kind of careless whim that could drive an alien intelligence insane.

For the most part, Cain’s personality is basically the same. She’s still the kind of person who would play beach volleyball with a puppy’s body as the ball. As whimsical as ever, she decided to wanted to go the beach and then randomly transformed into this horrifying monster. Playing on the beach is half her motive; her other desire is to make others suffer the terrible punishment she did: a life of eternity on the moon. Her hatred for humanity is a strong as ever and she wishes nothing but the worst torture on every single person. And apparently, her idea of torture is having to accompany her while she plays on the beach forever. Absolutely terrifying.

Inside the reality marble, her word is will and she possesses god-like power. For the most part, the only things that would stand a chance against her would be Servants with Anti-World Noble Phantasms or another lunar deity who possesses authority over the moon. Because of this, Cain’s natural enemy would be a certain bunny-eared system moderator, not only because of her lunar powers but also because there’s only room for one scantily clad bunny girl on this beach.

In the end, Cain is truly a tyrant that would make a fitting final boss. But, from one point of view, all she really wants is to alleviate her life of solitude and play with other people. So, if you’re feeling generous, why not accompany her for an eternity or two?

A Byronic hero is what you call someone who is charismatic, passionate but also deeply flawed and haunted by some dark past. Some examples are Kiritsugu, Edward Elric, Iron Man or Lord Byron himself.

    Rivers Run Red
The rivers run with red, washing away what remained of the fallen Babylonians. The assault upon the land had been a great success. Cyrus’ troops ran across the dried, desert lands, swords and spears wet with Babylonian blood. This was a liberation, a just cause. Those who would turn away from the Liberator turned away from the one God. The will of their great ruler was the only answer they had ever needed.

“A just cause,” Pantea stood tall upon an unstained hill, her sword dripping crimson. “If only you had surrendered,” she said, eying the black sheen of her blade. “It would’ve been easier.”

How many had fallen today? How many died by her hand, how many by the enemy’s hand? The thought crossed her mind a few times, but the answer never truly mattered. If one-thousand fell in the Immortals, a thousand more would rise, wearing the gold of their great king. But even so, a life lost is a life lost. They would be mourned all the same.

It would only serve to strengthen her resolve. At least, that’s what she wants to think.

It’s for the Creator. For the Emperor.

It was a mantra she repeated battle after battle. An attempt to rid herself of the burden of death, of murder. Even after so many battles through the years, it never came easy for her. If only she could shut out her heart, become an unfeeling monster. Then Pantea could be no more. This burden would vanish.

Flooding the mind with only their duty. No loss, no more mourning, all to become an embodiment of the Creator’s will.

She sighed, stripping her face of her mask. Her short, white locks billowed with the wind. Dust rose from the ground and into the air. Pantea placed a hand to her face to peer out into the horizon.

The haze that masked the city of Opis had cleared. Off in the distance, the Persian Army began its advance once more.

Footsteps echoed at the base of the mountain. Sand churned underfoot as boots hammered into the ground. Spear shafts stabbed into the barren earth. As a unit, they saluted their Commander. It was a gesture familiar to her. Even while training, even while out of uniform, they greeted her the same way; with respect, with adherence.

She turned away from her troops, staring off into the distance.

She never truly knew her family, apart from her husband. The only thing she knew was battle, and even now, it proves difficult.

Pantea frowned, gazing up into the sky.

If not for the Creator, then for them.

“Your orders, Commander?” a young man kneeled at her side, being careful to look away from her face.

“We follow,” she fastened her mask to her face.

The Immortals affirmed their Commander’s order, setting off to battle once again.

    Height: 172 cm
    Weight: 140 lbs
Armament: Wicker shield, short spear, and a short sword.

    • CON: C
    • AGI: A
    • MGI: D
    • LCK: C
    • Noble Phantasm: C

    Legend
The heat of the land. The toiling desert winds. Whether born rich or poor, it was the same for any child born in Persia. Working in the fields, training, and fighting to protect one's home. These were the tenets that lead Pantea through her earlier years. She never knew her family, never knew prestige, she only knew the land and its people. Fighting to live is all she really knew. Even knowing that she suffered, there was no need to connect with others, to form a connection to anyone or anything. A life of solitude suited her. Living by the land, dying, and returning to the soil.
A man by the name of Aryasb happened upon her. He saw Pantea struggling, fighting, and he extended a hand. Of course, she refused, but that only amused him. He continued on and on until eventually she begrudgingly agreed to a union. Her white-hair, her flawless face. They drew him in. It was more of a curse than a boon. Aryasb simply claimed her due to tenacity, rather than love.
Upon the formation of the Imperial Guard, the Immortals, Pantea could finally find a place to call home. She found meaning in the teachings of Zarathustra, in her King, and in battle.

    Tactics
An Assassin who prefers direct confrontation to any tactics expected of the Class Container. She makes use of Eye of the Mind (False) and AnausaEvarak to whittle the opponent down over a long battle of attrition, due to her higher than average statistical scores and her knack for battle. Once the enemy is within the threshold, she executes them with Atash Bahram, completely negating skills that would otherwise allow them to survive.

    Classic Abilities
    Presence Concealment - Rank D
At this rank, the ability hides one's presence as a Servant. Suitable for spying as long as sudden movements are not made.

    Personal Skills
At the Boundary - Rank B
Skill for those who walk within the Valley, are as one with Death, and are familiar with its ways. At the Rank of B, Assassin shows considerably immunity to instant death skills and abilities. Increases resistance to charm effects.

    Mystic Face - Rank B
A face said to be blessed by the divine. Wherever she walks, people flock to her as long as her face is uncovered. It's meant to be a blessing, but in life, it's only a curse and a bother. Looking upon Assassin's visage enchants all who look, causing them to fall in love with her. However, the mask she wears neutralizes the affect unless it's taken off.

    Military Tactics - Rank C
Tactical knowledge used not for one-on-one combat situations, but for battles where many are mobilized. Bonus modifiers are provided during use of one's own Anti-Army Noble Phantasm or when dealing against an enemy Anti-Army Noble Phantasm. At this rank, advantageous modifiers are provided in situations when executing one's own Anti-Battalion Noble Phantasm(s) or in dealing with the opponents Anti-Army Noble Phantasm; the Servant gains a slight bonus to their own Anti-Army NP while the opposing Servant's gains slight penalties.

Eye of the Mind (False) - Rank B
A natural talent to foresee/sense and avoid danger on the basis of an innate 6th sense, intuition, or prescience. Capable of calm analysis of battle conditions even when in danger and deduce an appropriate course of action after considering all possibilities to escape from a predicament. So long there is even a 1% chance of a comeback, this ability greatly improves the chances of winning.
    Noble Phantasms
Together into the Long Night -- Anausa Evarak
    Rank: D
    Type: Anti-Group
    Range: 1~600
    Maximum targets: 1~80
Assassin’s identity as a Servant is tied both to her name and the thousands of soldiers she commanded. Following Pantea into battle as they did in life. The shadows are capable of conjuring the armaments of the Immortals, everything from their shields to their long swords and slings. Assassin can manifest the weapons independently, but the shadow also reacts instinctively to incoming attacks and reacts accordingly.
It’s a Noble Phantasm encompassing the powerful military might and prestige of the Immortals. While being a powerful military on their own, the Immortals served as the King’s Imperial Guard. Dedicating their lives to defending him and the land they called home.

By the Creator’s Will, Gentle Repose -- Atash Bahram
    Rank: B
    Type: Anti-Unit
    Range: 1~10
    Maximum targets: 1
A curse created by Pantea to grant a painless end to those she was ordered to kill. It’s a Noble Phantasm of variable power that can either deal little or fatal damage. The power of the curse scales inversely with HP. The higher the opponent’s HP, the less damage inflicted. The damage inflicted by Atash Bahram permanently decreases the opponent’s health, bypassing skills such as Battle Continuation and other revival passives.
The curse is Assassin’s final effort to cope with the weight of death, or perhaps a way to absolve herself of blame. Even while fighting, the thought of harming another never sat well with her, even while cleansing the battlefield. Even if others have different beliefs, different ways of living, a life is a life.

"After all, I haven't been diligent in carrying out all of my chores!"

Using medicine from the moon to alter her Saint Graph, the former Lancer and Jade Rabbit of the moon Yuè Tù misunderstands the very concept of rest and relaxation, smoothly transitioning from her duties as an avatar and false terminal in her owner's place to a summer servant carrying out the tasks and responsibilities of a lunar festival to honor her goddess, Chang'e.

It is said that the Moon Festival was originally a harvest festival began during the Shang dynasty, gradually becoming associated with Chang'e and moon worship through stories of the great archer Hou Yi burning incense and sacrificing cakes and fruits to his exiled wife on the night of the full moon. Celebrated with food, lanterns, and dance, the tradition is intimately associated with moonlit nights and romantic evenings, which means a qualified match-maker and food vendor is essential!

Borrowing all of the associations her Saint Graph has with festivals and merriment, no matter how tenuous, Yuè Tù has linked herself to the Aztec Centzon Totochtin, a group of divine rabbits representing the good and ills of partying, alcohol, and intoxication, marshalling them to help her operate a one-stop, comprehensive food stall worthy of the finest conbini.

Mochi! Tea! Fresh fish and piping-hot meat!
Even sake, wine, and other stronger drinks, with proper ID, of course. (Being an Oni is no excuse!)

Reflecting her origins as a Heroic Spirit with intermixed traces of Chinese, Japanese, and Mesoamerican origins, Rider prides herself on a diverse stock of goods and festival traditions, certain to make the evening following a day on the beach magical no matter what region a Heroic Spirit is from.

    Personality:
Superficially, Rider seems more outgoing than her incarnation as a Lancer, confidently holding her own shape rather than Chang'e's and giving a bright, cheerful smile as she energetically pitches merchandise and delivers online or called-in orders to personnel and Heroic Spirits throughout the summer locale. No matter how difficult the terrain, or how unlikely the appearance, the Jade Rabbit will find a way to make sure it reaches its destination, without fail!

Of course, this good cheer and confident energy is as much a mask as her makeshift Goddess Transformation was - in reality, she is as skittish and nervous as always, deflating the moment she is alone and resisting the urge to run away and hide her face. Kind-hearted but shy, the concept of being a summer servant is utterly alien for her, and she just wants to go back to her room and hide under a blanket.

But if it's for the sake of others, she can put on a smile and endure it for one more hour... again...

    Class Abilities:
    Riding
    Rank: B
The ability to ride mounts and vehicles. Though classed as a Rider, Rider is not exceptionally skilled in mounted maneuverability, and her rank in this skill is purely a result of her class container. After all, fundamentally, her food stall does not really move once set up...

    Magic Resistance
    Rank: D+
Cancels Single-Action spells, Magic Resistance of the same degree of an amulet that rejects magical energy. Due to being in her own form rather than borrowing that of her owner her Magic Resistance is reduced substantially.

    Personal Skills:
    Beach Conditioning
    Rank: B
A composite skill of Robust Health and Rejuvenation. As a result of remodeling her Saint Graph and taking on the burden of the Centzon Totochtin, invocation of her ordinary Noble Phantasm has been sealed. However, the overflowing vitality of a divine sacrifice remains an intrinsic part of her body, granting Rider a constant, powerful rejuvenating effect that automatically undoes minor wounds and rejects external interference such as poison or curses. Her endurance parameter is ranked up and attacks have their damage reduced.

    Summer Shapeshift
    Rank: B(+++)
A skill converted from "Shapeshift." Ordinarily a skill that refers to both borrowing bodies and appearance change, for various reasons, Rider's exercise of this skill is limited to her customary form and natural rabbit body and various outfits as appropriate. Unlike her incarnation as a Lancer, transformation into her goddess and master is strictly forbidden. "Even if she likes parties, Ma'am would never be caught dead in this kind of attire or setting!" or so the servant claims. That a familiar divine spirit has already been sighted at the beach several times, all of them coinciding with Rider's rest breaks, is surely an unfounded and scandalous coincidence.

    Discernment of Desire
    Rank: A
    Insight to see through the
    customer
    opponent's
character and attribute. At this rank, when it comes to food or drink, she will not be deceived by words or protestations, and can immediately grasp the preferences and mood of another. Truly, a narrowly refined, faultless desire sensor without peer. While it embarrasses her to say so, this skill also extends to...--Well, it is the season.

    Noble Phantasm(s):
Centzon Totochtin - Summer Festival of 400 Rabbits
    Type: Anti-Army
    Rank: B
Under normal circumstances, Yuè Tù's Noble Phantasm would be the vitality of a Divine Spirit coursing through her own body. However, as a Rider, she has forcibly inserted herself into the numbers of the Centzon Totochtin, using her overflowing life energy to finance the invocation of many small, rabbit-like phantasmal beasts, multiplying them like... well, bunnies. The Centzon Totochtin were divine beasts who frequently met for parties and festivals of all sorts, associated with fertility and drunkenness. Together, the 400 rabbits represented every stage of intoxication, in all of its good and negative qualities or consequences, from lack of inhibition and boundless confidence to sleepiness and poor judgment, and everything in between.

While small, each rabbit is nevertheless an ancient Phantasmal Beast, with an armor class belying their small size and stature, and speed easily reaching several hundred kilometers per hour. However, their offensive power is relatively low, requiring a large number of them in order to add up to any sizable force. A collection of small, fluffy cannonballs, albeit sometimes off-balance or lacking in depth perception or judgment due to their varying levels of impairment.

However, Rider principally charges them with maintenance of the menial tasks of running their food stall, including gathering supplies, fishing, cleaning, and even cooking. Surprisingly good cooks due to their experience with parties, the beasts are reliable up to a point, although they cannot be trusted not to eat some of the stock and have a tendency to fall asleep or lose their place in mid-task, only increasing Rider's stress and burden as the lone sober tsukkomi rabbit in the group.

It should be said while she believes herself to be their leader, the Centzon themselves view her as an inexperienced kohai who hasn't even taken her first drink yet. But they have confidence in her potential all the same.
Beautiful, just beautiful, and I normally hate "Summer" Servants.

This is actually something I made a good few years back for a roleplay, but never got around to using, and which was invalidated in the end thanks to Agartha. Found it when looking through my old documents for something I'm doing currently, and figured I might as well post it since I do like the thematic similarities and differences between this and the canon Columbus, in that both begin with similar premises but diverge in pretty staunchly different paths. Plus, since canon Columbus exists, it's not like I'm ever going to actually use him in a roleplay now.

Fair warning that the sheet itself is several years old and I can't really motivate myself to update something that now has a canon counterpart, so I do realize that things like his Pioneer skill don't take into account the info we have from things like Drake's recent interlude, and stuff like that.

    Rider Columbus

    Name: Christopher Columbus
Title: Discoverer of the New World
    Class: Rider
    Gender: Male
    Alignment: Lawful Evil

    Parameters

    STR: E
    CON: E
    AGI: D
    MGI: C
    LCK: EX

    Class Skills

    Riding: -

Conferred by the Personal Skill “Voyager of the Storm”.
    Magic Resistance: C

Cancel spells with a chant of below three bars. A pillager and destroyer of New World mysticism, he can be called one of the greatest enemies of magi in the Age of Man. However, his relative recency results in an ultimately middling Magic Resistance.

    Personal Skills

    Guilty Hero: A

A skill similar to “Innocent Monster”, as the manifestation of historical distortion born after the Servant’s time. While “Innocent Monster” results in the acquisition of monstrous or evil traits by the Heroic Spirit, this skill is one which does the inverse, causing the Heroic Spirit to gain heroic presence. Incidentally, it is this skill that allows Rider to be summoned even by an uncorrupted Grail, as it causes him to be recognized as a “legitimate Heroic Spirit”.

At this rank, all actions taken, regardless of moral depravity, are viewed as “heroic”. It is not mental interference, but rather a burden of existence held by Rider that alters the implicit nature of his actions, rather than acting on the minds of those who watch his actions be performed. However, certain artifacts of his behavior cannot be cloaked in such a manner.

Furthermore, until the true name is known, this skill will not be viewable as itself, but rather as a randomly-created skill that symbolizes “heroism”. When in the presence of those who know Rider's true name though, while the effect of this skill does not disappear, the artifacts to which it applies can be lowered at Rider's decision.

Incidentally, this skill also makes him far more vulnerable to a certain black mud than he would be otherwise.

Pioneer of the Stars [False]: EX

The unique Skill given to heroes that became turning points in the human history. All difficult voyages and challenges which are considered "impossible" turn into "events that can be realized". It is the overcoming of the inefficiencies of the current era with merely human power.

However, Rider's possession of the skill is less “the ability to overturn impossibility” and more “the ability to make it seem as if impossibility is overturned”. Through human effort, he is able to generate this guise of realization. Thus, the effect of this skill is analogous to that of the real one. The skill is viewed as the normal Pioneer of the Stars skill unless the viewer knows Rider's True Name, at which point its truth as a falsehood is seen.

    Voyager of the Storm: B

The talent that lets one sail objects recognized as ships.

Additionally confers Military Tactics and Charisma at rank C. While seemingly rare, in function it is a relatively standard skill which would be of more use in the Rider class.

    Noble Phantasm

    New World
In 1492, Columbus Sailed the Ocean Blue

    Rank: C
    Classification: Anti-World
    Range: -
    Maximum Number of Targets: -

A Noble Phantasm can be called the crystallization of a Heroic Spirit’s feats. Thus, this is the manifestation of Rider's “discovery” of the New World.

In order to be activated, Rider must meet the criterion of being in an area “foreign to himself”. In other words, an area outside of his standard culture sphere, or on another’s territory.

Upon invocation of the Noble Phantasm, the effect of overturning the foreign nature of the area is realized, and the world becomes painted over by the effect of Rider's “discovery”. Territorial effects placed upon the land and further topographically-oriented mysteries will have their ownership transferred to Rider, and within the formerly-foreign zone of effect, Rider's fame is treated as rising to the highest class. Moreover, drawing on the power of the cumulative history of the Americas and the levels of advancement that occurred in the aftermath of and during the atrocities of the colonial era, this territory acquires the additional concept of optimization...that is to say, Rider becomes capable of making "better use of the territory than its original owner". "Better" in this case referring to the ends of Rider himself; the original owner may indeed find what he has done with their former property to be a horrendous travesty.

This can be called the natural enemy of Casters or those whose Noble Phantasms are Bounded Fields, as it is a means of forcefully stealing their advantages and making them Rider's own. In the case where this is used in a true Reality Marble though, this reacquisition is impossible and instead, the use of New World will be a tool to “shatter” the Reality Marble, attacking the world itself by increasing the corrective influence of the world upon it; this is only the case for true Reality Marbles, so high thaumaturgy Bounded Fields, even ones asymptotically close to Reality Marbles, will not be affected like this.

Further, this force of acquisition is compounded by the Guilty Hero skill of Rider, causing the land to gain the property of “rightfully being Rider's”. Thus, even if attempts to reacquire the land are made, they are fated to “certainly fail” as Rider's enemies are fighting on the wrong side. This can only be surmounted if one’s capacity to resist fate stands on the same footing as Rider's own.

After all, how could the villain ever defeat the hero?

    Some Notes

Actually, a couple years after making him I was finally about to use him for a roleplay just right around when Agartha first came out, and then promptly had to scrap that plan. Such is life. Something that I did like after I'd initially cooled down from that whole thing was the whole "pretends to be a nice old man until he backstabs you" thing that the canon Columbus has going, since it made me feel halfway validated in how I'd designed mine.

He is concerningly arrogant, but has a firm grasp over the fact that as a Heroic Spirit, he is third-rate. He is someone who believed wholeheartedly in the potential of humanity, but his definition of what belongs to humanity is slim. He is someone who can calmly call for mass murder and iconoclasm, but who can strive towards an impossible ending with an awe-inspiring determination. If I was making him nowadays, I might redesign Guilty Hero into a Contradictory Spirit sort of thing, or just give him both.

From a perspective of “power”, he was put together as a unique sort of Servant who “can only exhibit his full potential outside his Staging Ground”. Though, in my original draft I did have a second Noble Phantasm for him if he got an America summon, which worked off of the whole "calling Native Americans 'Indians' and that name sticking for centuries" deal.

He was never designed as something with even mediocre odds of winning a Holy Grail War. Put simply, he was designed as the sort of Servant who was useless outside of very specific circumstances. For him, the ideal situation would be something like fighting that umu tyrant, and taking control of her Noble Phantasm in a stunning reversal.

That's a really cool Columbus. His NP reminds me of (a more fleshed out version of) the one I gave my own Columbus Servant ages ago.

I've noticed that a lot of Servant sheets as of late have had titles related to their personal identities. Am I the only one who finds that a little silly? I feel like that would give too much detail into their identity. I mean, all the other "Servant of ___" in canon have been related to the team they're on, or a specific event, not themselves.

I would argue that first point, but that's just me.

I know that nobody gives a shit about it, but I like to do it so the servant identity can become hidden up until the lore section.
I like to imagine as a minigame where people read the first half of my sheets with only some clues to the identity up until the reveal on the biography section. I know for a fact that nobody gives a shit about it, because the hypocrite here instantly jumps to the true name with every sheet that i read.

Fair enough, I guess if it's just a meta thing, I'm just thinking in terms of summoning an actual servant in a Grail War, you'd hate for them to be known as "(Class) of (Huge clue to their identity)".

And yeah, one of the first things I read is the biography section, tbh.

I just like titles and this is an excuse for me to give them more titles.

Says, if you write a fanfic/RP and your Servant is sniped by canon, will you just stop doing it or keep continue it (perhaps retcon him into Arthur timeline or some shit)?
The situation you have as a writer would be:
    1) The Servant true name has been revealed
    2) The Servant already appeared in the story but true name not yet revealed
    3) The Servant has not yet appeared in the story, but you already planned a plot for him

Doesn't need for you to have write/experience it.

I only do RPs since I don't have the strength of will needed for fanfics, but the way I personally tend to treat it is that characters alone become "fixed" once the RP itself starts, as far as introduction of new canon. If new mechanics/lore comes out mid-RP then that's fair game to integrate or introduce, but if a player character gets a canon counterpart after it's started then I generally say that's fine to handwave for the duration of the RP to be fair to that player, even if it feels a little dirty. If it's a GMNPC then it's a similar story, but if I'm the GM and the NPC in question hasn't appeared in the story yet then I might try and mess around to see if I can find a suitable replacement that doesn't harm stuff.

Hmm, I guess just roll with it is the best idea. I kinda want to start one for quite sometimes. But the danger being sniped makes me hesitant. It can be easily avoided by not choosing someone famous but...
