Frankly, the only thing in this country that has and should have any power at all: Vote. Also, the irony that by protesting in the street, you increase your chances of dying in the street, especially because of COVID. Last time I checked, the dead have no voting rights.

I mean, yeah. Antifa has been in the right in like 99% of the disputes they've engaged in.
We've voted for a long time, and cops have disproportionately targeted black people in that time. They don't protect and serve us. Not like they should. The social contract is broken.
I work with cops fairly regularly, and in that time, I've seen the kind of people the job attracts. The job, the badge, the gun. These are, by and large, little men who want a big gun and the license to use it. They're all hyped up on fantasies of playing Rambo or Punisher. They have the gun, and they want to use it. They look forward to using it.
I do not trust these people with my safety.
COVID is something I have experience with. I've transported COVID patients in my ambulance. I've walked the halls of our COVID floor at the hospital. I've seen people coughing themselves to death, and I have listened to the junk in their lungs. I know COVID. I hate it.
But I also hate racism and wholesale slaughter of humans like dogs. Hell, worse than dogs. If a cop killed a dog the way they killed George Floyd, you wouldn't see nearly as much hemming and hawwing and "respect his authority" and "obey his commands" from white America.
We're left with two terrible choices -- risk COVID or risk more cop murders. Marching puts you at risk for one, and not marching puts you at risk for the other. There is no easy answer here.
My answer: March. Agitate. Make our leaders remember that they work for us. Tell them that we're sick and tired of this shit, and we don't have to take it anymore.
And sure, yeah, vote, but there are only so many voting days in a year. It's a woefully inefficient way of bringing about any real change.

If a few buildings have to go away to achieve a little less human suffering, then it's a no-brainer. The harm done by burning a building is infinitely less than a mother losing her son, a wife losing her husband, a child losing his father.
