When I go random.
It isn't entirely unlike fluff. Oddly aggressive fluff filled with worried anger, yes, but at least we know they really care?
“You came back for me.”
Forest bit her lip as she clinched the wash cloth in her hand before turning back to look at the speaker. Eyes like steel met hers and she shifted slightly under the intensity of that stare. She quickly looked back at the medical supplies she'd gathered, already making mental notes of what those two really needed, and then back at the man sitting before her.
She shrugged and said, “Like I said, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed.”
Archer laughed, a surprisingly light sound from the usually bitter man, and shook his head. His white hair had fallen into his face, making him look younger and roguish at the same time. “I don't know who's the bigger idiot, you or me,” he said with a half smile as she gathered ice into the towel.
The cold numbed her fingers, but she was still able to twist the bundle together with ease. She walked toward where he was sitting and carefully pressed the ice on his cheek. A tightening of the jaw and flaring nostrils was all the indication Archer gave that the ice felt unpleasant. She grimaced as she held the ice to his swollen cheek and said, “Well, at least this time you didn't just stop like you were contemplating how nifty it would be for the steampunk monster to end it all.”
“We were just outnumbered,” Archer said as he reached for the impromptu ice pack. She let it go and straightened up.
She shook her head and said, “I think they were after you. Lancer wasn't anywhere to be seen and they weren't aiming to kill. They were wanting to capture.”
“Well, ordered to capture,” Archer said with a frown, “But why?”
Forest smiled as she leaned against the kitchen table. She replied, “Well, it's not your winning personality, that's for bloody sure.”
“Still, it doesn't make any damned sense,” Archer said with a shake of his head and a grimace.
She winced and said, “Easy, you took a good knock back there.”
“It's been a while since anyone's really fused over me,” he said with a far away look and smile.
Forest sat up on the kitchen table, swinging her feet ever so slightly as she stretched back. She answered, “I'm fussy. I guess I don't know when to leave things alone.”
“Not necessarily a bad thing,” Archer answered as he eyed her, “I use to be sort of the same way.”
She looked at her nails and resisted the urge to cry. Before she had been flung to this far off world they had been painted a bright metallic purple. Now there were only lopsided patches of the color clinging to pale nails and some of the edges weren't as perfectly rounded as they had been either. Her hands curled into fists and she quickly crossed her arms before looking at him again.
She replied, “And the World screwed you over.”
“Literally. Well, more like the Spirit of Humanity screwed me over,” he said with a shake of his head.
She blinked and straightened up, her hands going on the table as she leaned towards him. He looked at her and said, “I'm in a little bit of a sharing mood.”
“So I'm going to finally hear your sordid tale?” she asked hopefully.
He switched hands to hold the ice pack and answered, “Yeah, but I want you to answer a question first.”
“What?” she asked before shifting again.
Archer's eyes met hers and he asked, “The other night, when I was goading you into trying to hit me. Why did you walk away?”
Her eyes widened before she looked away from him. It was still vivid in her memory, as was his smell so strong in her nostrils that she had wanted to taste him. She wrapped her arms around herself and answered, “Because I wanted to bite you.”
“Why didn't you?” he asked.
She narrowed her eyes and said, “I don't just go around biting people nilly-willy you know. You're not my enemy and you didn't give me consent. I'm not some ravenous beast that's just going to tap into your throat, you know.”
Archer asked, “Do you want to bite Lancer?”
“Lord and Lady, do you have to get into a pissing contest when the man's not here?” she retorted with a glare.
Something hard passed through his eyes and he said, “I just want to know.”
“No. I don't want to bite Lancer,” she said before throwing her hands on her lap, “Are you happy now? Is that what you wanted to hear? That there's something about you that gets under my skin and I don't know if I want to kill or kiss you.”
Forest cursed the words as soon as they were out of her mouth and groaned. She rubbed her forehead, shook her head and moved to get off the table. Archer stood up and she felt the ice pack's weight settle beside her. Almost searing warmth rested on her hand and she could feel his body heat radiating against her. Tension filled her body while her head swam as she looked up at him.
“Well, I'd figure, since you're a vampire, wouldn't it be a bit of both?” he asked with a tiny half smile.
The urge to look away was strong, but she kept his gaze. She whispered, “Not really? Maybe . . . I . . .”
She didn't get the chance to finish when she was suddenly encased in wondrous heat. Hard warmth was pressed against her, wrapped around her, holding her, and pressing against her lips. Her arms moved to wrap around his neck with a help less gasp against his mouth. Each touch of his lips against hers was soft, almost unsure, and heartbreakingly gentle.
With this sudden kiss she felt she was seeing the real Archer, not the hardened facade he showed the rest of the world. Then she decided to kiss him right back.

...Right before kissing, they're still Tsundere for each other?
Well, damn. Nice snippet though
Tsunderes have the best romances ever. Especially when both sides of the romance are tsundere for each other.
I mean, this may change when I sit down and write the actual story, but there's some Tsun-tsun here.
