I'd say yes to stating why something's bad, but not for good. It's sort of hard to say sometimes WHY you like something. It can be very easy on the other hand to say why you hate something.

Look, i'll even give reasons!
FFD: It's not be on par with the extremely good pieces (Like Fletching and Lunatique for example) but I feel that it's quality is consistent for it's purposes, fight scenes are good and memorable, and characters grow in new ways as a result of an alternate universe. ThirdFang takes steps in developing his story in a completely new way: such as world-building and new systems for Thaumaturgy (that will likely be controversial for some).
Overall a good piece of work for some, bad for others; a love it or hate it fic.
MIAL: Awesome crossover by Dullahan, world-building skills are something to die for, writing especially becomes amusing when dealing with first-person Lio, spy-thriller aspects integrated into the story, fight scenes are good, original characters are very believable, and the puns... oh man the puns.
TI: A very good piece of work, well structured plot and funny moments interspersed in between serious moments. Stormedge certainly keeps people wanting for more concerning what will happen next.
Also note: Assassin... too fucking cute!
CT: Mozco loves his butterfly effect and it shows, the HGW is taken in an entirely new direction where no one knows what will happen next, very FUBAR compared to the canon routes. Fight scenes are especially good, dialogue is well done, plenty enough reasons as to why I like this one.
Also, bless Kyte and his organizing powers.

+1 to Faker because mad props to Verg Avesta for not only choosing to write out a Mind of Steel fic, but also making it incredibly awesome and GAR to boot regardless of the inherent grimness of that Bad End. My kind of angst - palpable, but also twinged with hope in spite of it all.
-1 to From Fake Dreams. While everything has its share of flaws FFD has too many issues with it to truly deserve a "hell yes seconding this recommendation" and is just firmly in the AA-T-G range. Textbook case of "show, not tell" with walls-of-text of Nasuspeak, it takes roughly 15-ish chapters for all the developments that have been accumulating up to this point to reach something somewhat meaningful.
My Fanfics. Read 'em. Or not.McJon01: We all know that the real reason Archer would lose to Rider is because the events of his own Holy Grail War left him with a particular weakness toward "older sister" types.
For clarity's sake you should also make note that while Fletching happens an Evangel Notes sidestory knowing the original fic that it is a part of is not required in order to read it.
