I'm gonna be unpopular and +1 Three Bladed Weaponry Fetishists Walk Into A Bar. Could use a proofread but I enjoyed reading despite the occasional spelling error. It's not a masterpiece of the craft, but it's fun.

Localizationing stuff
It's sad on the Fairy Tail side of things to be honest, most crossovers i checked are ridiculous, one involves Shirou Contracting with Gaia and Alaya on his own terms and bringing Sakura, Rin, Taiga and Illya to Avalon and he can have two classes assigned, Ronin or Ranger, one has D+ on everything the other has A+++ on everything and the other one is that Zeref summons Shirou as Archer, this is not EMIYA but a Shirou who went and became EMIYA.
The only other Good Crossover in my opinion i have seen outside here is infinite blades, an interesting take on Infinite Stratos, but the author takes a few liberties on both ends, but it's a fun story to read, despite being yet an other Shirou replaces x, or rather Shirou scares Ichika from the place.

Or possibly future Shirou who is somehow a Heroic Spirit.
No, he knows about EMIYA, he hates EMIYA but became the same thing in the end.
@Rajvir second option, this Shirou is an Heroic Spirit, not a CG from what the author wrote.

If I recall correctly, it's that he lived the same type of life as EMIYA but did not contract with Alaya. As a result, he was never broken by his existence as a CG even if he's no longer as naive as he used to be.

That's one thing I never understood, Archer went out dying with a smile on his face.
He still fully believed in his ideals and he was proud that he was going to be a counter Guardian.
Of course after he became one he was forced to endure a millennium of bloodshed where he was always surrounded by broken people. (Summoned to kill everybody)
Which resulted in his servant self regretting everything and willing to do nearly anything to escape his fate.

Pretty much, Zeref made use of the three commands, or a command i do not remember tbh, to order Shirou to protect Natsu and to help him grow strong, Shirou retorted that he would find a way to save Zeref, and Zeref told Shirou his only salvation was death.
Tbh in a crossover i always pictured Shirou hiding his abilities of the Reality Marble under the guise of Ex quip.
I never understood where these people get the idea that Archer was regretted his ideal before his Counter Guardian days. (I imagine he was a lot less cynical as well since he had something to believe in)
