Well, I of course can't speak for everyone, but in my experience the overuse of bad Spanish was a consistent source of mockery (or perhaps memery) in Bleach threads. Heck, I have a friend who still occasionally drops "Exacta!" or "No es exacta, Shinigami!" in random convos.

By the norms and standards of the Spanish language, "Death" is a feminine-gendered word (that was Ratman's point of contention) and proper nouns can and do use the article (that was your point of contention). Have you literally skipped all the other posts in the conversation? Or are you just so stubborn you can't admit you're wrong?

Seriously, leaving aside how asinine it is to argue "it's your word against mine" as if languages don't have rules (both prescriptive and descriptive), or how you tried to move the goalpost from "La Muerte" to the general usage of Spanish, or how you're now trying to slink away with how suddenly you now care about this being off-topic, I'm not even the only poster who said "Nah, it sounds fine in Spanish".

While Ratman was wrong about the word's gender, that was never the bloody point, the point was that naming an attack "The Death" OR just "Death" IS DUMB. Which is subjective, so the only argument to be made is whether there was a fandom consensus on it being dumb or not. I brought up the general fan reaction because, duh, there isn't an archived poll on "which of the mangled Spanish used in the Hueco Mundo arc in Bleach did you consider stupid?", at least to my knowledge. Language rules have NOTHING to do with this because we weren't arguing about grammar to begin with.

The only way for me to "take the L" here is if you can actually find a significant number of people who think that that attack name isn't stupid, to counterbalance all the people I've seen who think most or ALL of the Spanish in Bleach was stupid (including that one attack). And as for your disingenuous assertion, if you weren't so keen on me "taking the L" you'd remember that I've ALWAYS been mindful of the thread topic when discussing.

I'll say it again, just so there's no chance of misunderstanding: "La Muerte" is a dumb name for an attack. "Death" is a dumb name fr an attack. "The Death" is a dumb name for an attack. Almost every other usage of Spanish in Bleach was either plain dumb or so dumb as to run back to being amusing (but still dumb). Feel free to argue with that. Or not. Preferably in another thread.

'La Muerte' is kind of a stupid name for an attack indeed, but I've seen much dumber. It's much less lame than the rest of Bleach Spanish terminology or whatever garbage Quetzalcoatl is spewing out her mouth at any given time.

I'm not too fond of the overall LE Mexican dub (Apocrypha's was overall better with Vlad, Amakusa, Gordes, Mordred, Atalanta, Achilles, Shakespeare and Semiramis all being standouts) but Alicia Velez (Nero) is a treasure.
