I must have missed the part where the US was blocking websites (like in general) or when Portland was trying to declare independence. Of course, the CHAZ did get temporary de facto independence, which collapsed hilariously, but I digress. Like I said, the protest that Portland should be compared to is the Senkaku Islands, not Hong Kong. Portland rioters smashing Japanese stores (Nintendo) to protest America, while the Senkaku protesters smashing American stores (McDonald's) to protest Japan. Portland rioters use communist insignias, while Hong Kong protesters use the US flag. It's clear who the good guys are.
