Isle of Hope and Tears
Ellis Island
Barrier, Rank BA Bounded Field Noble Phantasm, functioning as a gateway to one’s own future. Ellis Island manifests a simulacrum of the famous island itself on the area surrounding Gatekeeper. The Noble Phantasm confers no advantage to Gatekeeper, other than being able to more readily designate it as the area of her Territory Defense Skill.
Those that have the courage and worth to pass through are granted entry into the area, receiving a boost to their morale. Ellis Island also replenishes some of the targets’ Magical Energy and temporarily ranks up their Strength, Endurance and Agility parameters.
It is possible for someone to force their way inside, but this method deals a moderate amount of damage to those attempting it, and there exists a strong barrier effect that they must overcome. Naturally, forcing entry does not confer any bonuses to the targets.
It should be noted that the worth that determines who is or isn’t allowed to pass is outside of Gatekeeper’s control. The criteria change with the times, and there have been times when Gatekeeper has outright loathed having to follow them.
Liberty Enlightening the World
Statue of Liberty
Anti-Unit (Self), Rank A+A Noble Phantasm representing Gatekeeper’s true form. Though normally sealed beneath a borrowed exterior, Statue of Liberty transforms Gatekeeper into the eponymous statue. When it is activated, Gatekeeper grows to a height close to fifty meters, her skin turning to the color of burnished bronze and her appearance and clothing transforming into those of her original shape.
With the increase in stature, Gatekeeper’s Strength and Endurance grow to far greater heights, and the range of her Light of Liberty increases significantly. Besides these effects, she receives a fame bonus from her name and appearance being known worldwide. As her form was made with the Roman goddess Libertas serving as a basis, Gatekeeper also receives a plus modifier to all actions taken against kings and other autocrats, in addition to granting Gatekeeper a low rank in Divinity.
Statue of Liberty has no set of duration and is relatively light in terms of Magical Energy consumption, outside of the activation cost. However, as she continues to use her true form, her color gradually shifts to the green of patina. As this occurs, her ability to move is reduced little by little until Gatekeeper becomes entirely immobile. Once Gatekeeper is fully immobile, she automatically reverts back to her sealed form. If this happens, she will be rendered unable to activate either of her Noble Phantasms for a day.
