    Class: Archer
Other Classes: Assassin, Avenger, Lancer, Berserker
    True Name: Yue Fei
    Epithet: God of Martial Arts
    Alignment: Lawful Good
    Place of Origin: China

    Parameters:

    STR: B
    END: B
    AGI: A
    MGI: C
    LCK: E
    NP: -

    Class Skills:
    Magic Resistance: D
Magic Resistance grants protection against magical effects. Differing from the Resistance effect that merely rejects Magical Energy, this ability cancels the spells altogether.

Cancels Single-Action spells. Magic Resistance of the same degree of an amulet that rejects magical energy.

    Independent Action: C
Independent Action is the ability to remain independent even when rejecting the Magical Energy supply from one's Master; the ability that allows for action even in the absence of the Master. At higher ranks, it is also possible to remain for extended periods of time in this world without an established contract. It is both useful and troublesome depending on the disposition of the Servant and the rank of Independent Action. Acting in autonomy from the Master's Magical Energy supply, the Master can concentrate their own Magical Energy on large spells, or the Servant will be fine even in the case they cannot supply Magical Energy due to injury. The downside is that they can be harder to control and keep by their side, making the only true way to command them is by utilizing Command Spells.

It is possible for a Servant to stay in the world for one day without a Master.

    Personal Skills:
    Chinese Martial Arts: EX
Chinese Martial Arts, also known as Zhongguo Wushu in Chinese, is a Chinese rationality. A value that measures one's mastery of the martial arts that made becoming one with the universe as its objective. Its learning difficulty is of the highest level and, unlike other Skills, it is at A Rank that one is at a level where one is said to have finally "learned it".

The student and eventual adopted son of the legendary Zhou Tong of the Water Margin (but not the Zhou Tong of the 108 Stars), Archer became a master of the Eighteen Weapons of War by the time he was a teenager, and the creator of dozens of martial arts styles by the time of his death. Of the myriad styles attributed to Archer or were directly influenced later by his work, the styles most famously associated with him are the following:

    • Ying Zhao Pai (鷹爪派) Also known as Eagle Claw, or Eagle Fist. An art that focuses heavily on gripping, grappling, and joint-locking; otherwise known as the Chinese Martial Arts concept of Chin Na or qinna. Eagle Claw was developed by combining practices of Shaolin Kung Fu with Chin Na, and allegedly has 108 joint-locking submission techniques. The style taught to Archer’s soldiers with great practical results.
    • Yuejiaquan (岳家拳) Also known as Yue Family Fist, a continuation and development of Archer’s earlier work in Eagle Claw by expanding the art to begin focusing on strikes and takedowns. Yuejiaquan is the first time the infamous technique Black Tiger Steals Heart is witnessed, which is later absorbed into Mantis Style’s vast repertoire.
    • Fanziquan (翻子拳) Also known as Rotating Fist, an art that emphasizes offense and defense being performed simultaneously. Fanzi is usually taught together with Chuōjiǎo, the infamous Water Margin Outlaw Style.
    • Xìng Yì Quán (形意拳) translated literally as Form-Intention Fist, is the zenith of Archer’s mastery of Chinese Martial Arts. Designed to be the ultimate fighting style, Xing Yi Quan emulates spearplay by combining linear strikes with explosive forward movement to limit any possible chance of counterattack. It was designed with the philosophy of ending a fight as soon as possible, and is the first example of an internal (neija) martial art being used effectively in actual combat. The style taught to Archer’s generals and considered a “lost technique” until Ji Jike revived it centuries later. Interestingly, it also became associated with the Chinese Hui Muslims in more modern times, as a sacred art used to protect themselves from oppression.

    Jing Zhong Bao Guo: A
“Serve the country with the utmost loyalty”, the phrase tattooed to Archer’s back in huge hanzi characters by his mother. A phrase that epitomizes the Confucian ideal of the gentleman junzi, one who is only a single step below the sage. After refusing to join a traitorous pirate’s crew, Archer’s mother praised him for his loyalty, but worried that after she died someone else would take advantage of his nature.

A curse of loyalty, but one administered from a place of filial piety, the cornerstone of the junzi. A protection against mental interference functionally similar to Bravery, to an extent. At higher levels it will take a toll on the personality. Archer has become a “hero of all China” applicable in equal parts to commoners as well as the governmental state, yet he is completely incapable of refusing a command from his superior--in this case, the Master--even if it should cause himself serious harm.

This Skill is represented in every incarnation.

    Clairvoyance: C+
Clairvoyance is a visual ability that is also called 'Eagle Eye'. This is generally a must-have ability of the Archer class. It is also frequently used during scouting. Simply looking from a high location is sufficient to fully survey a town and search for enemies. In addition, Clairvoyance will affect the accuracy of bows. It connotes superior visual perception and dynamic occipital capture, such as to supplement the long-range aiming of projectile weapons. At higher ranks, it is possible that the bearers of this Skill have acquired abilities such as precognition ('future vision') and other forms of perception beyond standard eyesight (X-ray vision and so forth). It is a Skill furnished on the flesh.

A skill Archer trained by himself as a prerequisite for his study under Zhou Tong. By staring at the early morning sunrise for years, Archer eventually gained the gifts of the “far-sighted person”, being able to spot individual insects from hundreds of meters away. Due to the lengths undergone in his training, and Zhou Tong’s individual gift of the eyes, Archer is able to exhibit limited amounts of X-ray vision.

    Divinity: A
Divinity is the measure of whether one has Divine Spirit aptitude or not. At high levels, one is treated as a mixed race of a Divine Spirit, and the level declines when the Heroic Spirit's own rank as a Monster or Demonic Beast raises. It can also decrease due to one's dislike for the gods. Those who have A Rank Divinity or above have reached the Throne of Gods. It also has an effect which reduces special defensive values called 'purge defense' in proportion to the Divinity's Rank. It can break through Skills such as Protection of the Faith and Enlightenment of the Sacred Fig.

Archer is the reincarnation of Garuda, the divine sun-bird most often associated with Vishnu. In Buddhist tradition, Garuda is a disciple of the Buddha, providing him shade with its wings. Garuda, known as the peng in China, was expelled from paradise on the order of the Buddha after he witnessed the corruption in the Song Dynasty government. It might also be because the Garuda committed murder in the Buddha’s presence.

Expounding on his Divine potential, Archer was later properly deified as a culture hero of all China. The honorable title given to him for his martial prowess is “wu sheng”, which can be translated to “god of war” or “god of martial arts”.

    Noble Phantasm(s):
Drawing the Bow, Separating Heaven and Earth
    To Stop the Rain

    Type: Anti-Unit
    Rank: -
    Range: 1
    Max Targets: 1

A Noble Phantasm incorporating several aspects of Archer’s life, truncated into a single technique. As a young man, Archer’s teacher Zhou Tong entered him in an archery competition, in which Archer naturally placed first, using a bow with a draw strength of half a ton. Nine instantaneous bullseyes cemented Archer’s place as a gifted warrior. Years later, during his war with the Jurchen, Archer noticed that his soldiers were becoming exhausted and sick quicker during prolonged engagements, something the genius general couldn’t allow. To remedy this, he created the Eight-Sections of Brocade, a qigong technique used as a warm-up exercise and a method of fostering health in his men, based on the concepts and movements of archery he learned as a boy.

However, the Eight-Sections of Brocade stopped its progression of usefulness at simple minor health benefits, at least when used by Archer’s men. When combined with the Peng qigong and Archer’s individual freakish strength, the results of the technique are devastating. Qi cultivation exceeds the limits of his body, pouring into the surrounding space around him. With the territory molded into an extension of himself, Archer is then able to physically “grip and draw back” the qi-laden air as if it were a real bow, the end result of the exercise set causing a long-range explosive shockwave to be “fired off”. Although whether this is due to actual qi manipulation or Archer’s ludicrous speed in performing the martial art is unknown.

Archer’s “arrows” are thus wholly invisible, being merely temporary distortions in space. Because the arrows are in effect ranged versions of his normal strikes, they still exhibit the same effects on the target body. This technique skew his target's nervous and circulatory systems as well as Magic Circuits. It disrupts the internal Magic Circuits like a tornado, and in a Servant's case, the magical energy connection to one's Master can no longer function properly.

    Lore:
A child sent from heaven, and one that returned in disgrace.
Yue Fei was a Han Chinese military general who lived during the Southern Song dynasty. He is best known for leading Southern Song forces in the wars in the 12th century between Southern Song and the Jurchen-ruled Jin dynasty in northern China before being put to death by the Southern Song government in 1142 under a concocted charge. He was granted the posthumous name Wumu (武穆) by Emperor Xiaozong in 1169, and later granted the posthumous title King of È (鄂王) by Emperor Ningzong in 1211. Widely seen as a patriot and national folk hero in China, since his death Yue Fei has evolved into a standard epitome of loyalty in Chinese culture.

    Personality:
To call Yue Fei a serious man might possibly be an understatement. Composing himself with the dignity of a general, he has never seen war or fighting as something pleasurable. Destroying the enemies of the emperor is simply the most straightforward way to achieve his goal of serving the emperor. That being said, Yue Fei is also serious about being a party animal. Emulating Guan Yu the only way he knows how, Yue Fei while drunk is a completely different beast than Yue Fei when sober.

“A wish? No, it would only be meaningless to think about something like that. The only thing I could have wanted has already been delivered to me. It isn’t gentlemanly to be so easily unsatisfied. However, that doesn’t mean my service to China is complete, now that I live again. If you want to call that a wish, then so be it.”

    Creator Notes:
I spent days agonizing over the Noble Phantasm and I’m still not that happy with it. Been a while so problems with balancing are to be expected. I'll clean the lore and stuff up later...maybe

Would anyone happen to know any famous literature characters that could be made into a Servant? I'm wanting to do something more...classical, like Sherlock Holmes, Don Quixote, or Arsene Lupin, for example.

Also, nice sheet, Bugs. At first I was questioning why someone called the God of Martial Arts was an Archer, but it made more sense when I read the whole thing.

Perhaps some of the detectives summoned in Shinjuku, or some characters from fairy tales that haven't been done yet, or even a couple characters from a book that's been turned into a film you've seen on the late show? Nothing specific is springing to mind at this time.

I toyed with the idea of writing a Quasimodo Servant once. NPs could be Sanctuary! (Quasimodo rings the bells of Notre Dame, calling down either divine protection on himself and his allies or holy fire to smite anything that means him harm) and possibly something to do with his role as a sculptor. (Gargoyle familiars? But that might be ripping off the Disney movie a bit...)

"The Illusions of the past. You think to have cast them off, only to find them years later, unwearying, unrelenting. Escaping her shadow was all I could think about, but the past can bind a man as surely as irons..."

    True Name: Culhwch ap Cilydd
Epithet: "The Cousin to King Arthur"
    Origin: Mythological
    Region: Britain (Arthurian Cycle)
    Hidden Attribute: Earth
    Alignment: Lawful Good
    Likes: Olwen, Travelling
Dislikes: Being Looked Down Upon, Step-Parents
    Talents: Charisma, Horseriding
    Natural Enemy: King Arthur

    Parameters:
    STR: (B) END: (B) AGI: (A) MGI: (C) LCK: (E) NP: (B)

    Appearance:
Culhwch takes the form of a youthful man of around twenty-five. He has gray hair and teal eyes. His golden armour with dragon highlights was a gift from his uncle - King Uther, who used it himself in his youth.

As for armaments, he carries the Gleif Penntirec - a glaive that was passed down through his and Artoria's family.

    Character:
When it came to Culhwch, Artoria would fondly describe him as "of gentle lineage". He is a kind and even tempered man, if a little on the reserved side which causes him not to stand out amongst the more colourful characters he is associated with. He has a certain purity of heart and general friendliness that grants him a magnetic charisma and drew several (otherwise uncooperative) people to want to help him. He gets nervous easily and so his oft-repeated catchphrase "I can do this no problem!" is somewhat of a self-confidence boosting mantra. He deeply loves his wife Olwen, though whether that is his natural state or because of the curse placed upon him is anyone's guess. Nevertheless he thinks of her smile whenever his back is against the wall which gives him the courage to persevere.

However, he spent his entire life living in the shadow of Artoria and whilst he loves her dearly, he developed an inferiority complex towards her. It became truly self-conscious when his mortal enemy Ysbaddaden used his dying breath to mock Culhwch as having nothing that Artoria hadn't given him. Whilst Culhwch convinced himself it was mere admiration of his cousin, in reality it had turned into a dark envy of her. Yet those days he spent traveling along with her, the Round Table and the others that joined them along the way were some of the happiest memories of his life so he paradoxically wouldn't change a second of it.

Upon being summoned into the Holy Grail War, Culhwch will eagerly charge into battle to try and gain some form of glory he can call his own. But this makes him easy to manipulate if his Master has a dark heart. Whilst Culhwch wouldn't do anything overtly evil, his good intentions could be twisted into ultimately doing something accidentally he couldn't take back that might break him. Despite this, if he remembers what is truly important then he would rise above it and become a shining knight once more.

His Wish upon the Grail? Thinking back on his life, he understood that being the guardian that protects the Holy Spear is a tough life and so he would use his wish to ease the burden of his descendant in the modern day by asking the Grail to grant their wish instead. It just so happens that is a certain young lady at the Clocktower who has issues with her face...

    Skills:
    Class Skills

    Magic Resistance - (C)
Grants protection against magical effects. Differing from the Resistance effect that merely rejects Magical Energy, this ability cancels the spells altogether. At this Rank, cancel spells with a chant below two verses. Cannot defend against magecraft on the level of High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals. Having lived in an era where magic was still prevalent, Culhwch has a decent defence against it but not being a mage himself leaves it lacking slightly.

    Personal Skills

Eye of the Mind [False] - (B)

A natural talent to foresee/sense and avoid danger on the basis of an innate 6th sense, intuition, or prescience. The accuracy of this instinct can be augmented by experience. The ability also grants an effect of offering resistance against penalties caused by visual obstructions. Gained through surviving his many trials and tribulations against Monstrous and Phantasmal Beasts, Culhwch's intuition has been sharpened into a sixth sense as even when the giant Ysbaddaden threw a poisoned spear at Culhwch whilst his back was turned, yet he managed to not only catch it but throw it back straight into Ysbaddaden's eyeball.

    Happy Comrades - (B)
Through his many Labours, Culhwch acquired many comrades along the way to support his quest. From King Arthur and the Round Table, warriors from Avalon and even the servants of Culhwch's mortal enemy Ysbaddaden - all of them were drawn to his pure heart. Those moments of laughter, teamwork and inevitable sad partings make up some of the fondest memories from Culhwch's life. As a result, both Culhwch's Master and any subsequent allies made, gain a significant boost to their abilities in combat.

    Resolute Devotion - (A)
A Skill that represents one's feelings towards a loved one, which the person won't even flinch at committing self-sacrifice. As a result of being cursed so that he can love no one but Olwen, Culhwch spent years trying to both find her and then completing his Labours to win her hand in marriage. Because of that, he came to have visions of her whenever his life was in danger and her smile allowed him to stregthen his resolve and pull through every time. Applies Plus Modifiers in regards to Endurance, passing Checks and healing items for the duration of time Culhwch's health is in a critical condition.

    Noble Phantasm:

    Gleif Penntirec
A Demon that calls the Wind and Dew

[Type: Anti-Unit Weapon], [Rank: B], [Maximum Range: 1-50 Metres], [Maximum Number of Targets: 1-100]

An ancestoral weapon passed down through Culhwch and Artoria's family. A two handed glaive with a demonic power over the wind. It was said that only after mastering this demon tool could one qualify to wield the Holy Spear Rhongomyniad. Normally kept wrapped tightly within a talismen cloth to seal its abilities so that it doesn't lust after the blood of the innocent, once its True Name is invoked the cloth rips away by a razor sharp wind that gathers around the blade. Indeed, Merlin came up with the idea of creating the Noble Phantasm Invisible Air after seeing this weapon. Once unleashed, the range dramatically increases as each swing of the glaive carries through the wind to strike at enemies even if they manage to dodge the blade. The wind can serve other purposes, from forming a tornado wall around Culhwch to divert attacks and protect him or create an updraft to allow him to float and reach high up areas.

In order to protect himself from being cut by the wind, Culhwch subconsciously created a "safe zone" of a 85cm radius around himself where the wind cannot enter unless he conciously wills it. Should an enemy Servant notice this then they'll be able to enter that zone and strike Culhwch directly.

    Lore:
During the days of knights and magic when Artoria was ruling over Britain as High King, her cousin prince Culhwch was turning of age when his father made the sudden decision to remarry. When Culhwch met his new step-mother, she tried to pair him up with her own daughter to secure her status. But when Culhwch rebuked her, she placed a curse upon him so that he could not love any other woman than Olwen. Upon consulting his father, Culhwch learned that this Olwen was the daughter of the infamous giant Ysbaddaden and he would always give impossible trials to any suitor that asked for Olwen's hand in marriage. His father then said the only way to succeed would be to gain the aid of his cousin King Arthur and her invincible band of warriors.

After arriving at Artoria's court in Kernow, he pleaded his case to her and she agreed to assist him alongside six of her most trustworthy allies - Kay, Bedivere, Gawain, Merlin, Gwrhyr and Cynddylig. Together they all set out and they eventually managed to track down the court of the giant Ysbaddaden. There the giant refused to hear them out until tomorrow, but as they got up to leave Ysbaddaden threw a poisoned spear at Culhwch. The boy couldn't react in time so Bedivere caught it and threw it back straight through the giant's knee. The next day the exact same failed dialogue occurred and Ysbaddaden once again tried to throw a spear but this time it was Merlin who caught it and threw it through the giant's chest. They tried once more to convince him, but this time when he threw the spear - Culhwch himself snatched it out of the air and launched it into the giant's eyeball. Impressed, Ysbaddaden finally agreed that Culhwch could marry Olwen, but only after he completed a series of Labours first. All of the tasks required him to retrieve a person, animal or item - each one harder to get than the last.

And so the eight warriors set out - travelling across land and sea to find each one. Battling the demonic boar Twrch Trwyth to get its treasures, riding the giant Salmon Llyn Llywen to free the imprisoned god Mabon, sailing into Avalon and convincing two immortal warriors locked in an eternal battle to stop and return to Earth and many other adventures. Each time things looked difficult, Artoria revealed that she or her men would have a skill that would allow them to clear the task. Eventually, the Labours were completed one by one until after a couple of years they all returned to Ysbaddaden's court, throwing down all of the treasures at the giant's feet until he was forced to recognise Culhwch as his son-in-law. But before he was killed by the people he had wronged, Ysbaddaden made one final declaration to Culhwch - "Don't thank me for giving my daughter to you, thank Arthur instead. You would have never gotten this far without him. Do you hear me!? You aren't nothing without him - NOTHING!!!"

Those words echoed throughout the court and in Culhwch's soul, weighing on his mind for the rest of his life. Nevertheless, after the fateful battle of Camlann, Merlin appeared in front of Culhwch one final time and entrusted the Holy Spear Rhongomyniad to him so that it would be passed down within he who shared the same blood as Artoria and his descendant would be drawn towards Artoria to give back the Spear when the Once and Future King returned to Earth one day...

    Relationships:
Arjuna - "I know it's hard, but you shouldn't have such a complex towards a family member. Trust me, it's not healthy."

Artoria - "..." (He is too ashamed to face her.)

Knights of the Round Table - "If I could ask a favour, may we spar a little? I wish to see how much further I have to go as a warrior."

Merlin - "Master of Magicks. I did as you asked and kept Rhongomyniad safe within my family. "

Rama - "*Sniff* Your tale has moved my heart, truly. If you ever need my help just ask."

    Creator's Notes:
Given that I made a Twrch Trwyth sheet in the past, it was only natural that I make a Culhwch sheet eventually. As with my prior Twrch sheet, I replaced the magician Menw with Merlin since TM seems to have done that in Uther's backstory.

I was originally going to give him a second NP that would allow him to borrow the various treasures he collected over the course of his quest in a "luck of the draw" style fashion where he could pull something useless like a comb used to tend to Phantasmal Beasts...all the way to OP like the holy sword Dyrnwyn. But that really contrasted with the personality I ended up going for and so I ultimately scrapped it.

The Faceclaim is Luneth from Final Fantasy III. I was originally going to go with Ingus from the same game because he could pass for being Artoria's sibling, but I ultimately went with Luneth because the silver hair made me think of Gray and how Culhwch is likely her direct ancestor given the lack of other candidates that lived past the Battle of Camlann.

As someone with near-complete Welsh ancestry, I'm obligated to love Culhwch. His personality and the lore behind his halberd are definitely the most developed here out of the other Culhwch sheets I've seen. I do always wonder how the Thirteen Treasures never seem to make it into these sheets, though. Especially since they had a more practical use in actually achieving his journey for Olwen. Curious if you were planning something with them?

And I just read the Creator Notes. derp

^ Thanks. Always nice to have some feedback.

Yeah, the treasures would definitely show up in Culhwch's arsenal if he ever becomes a legit canon Servant.

I am curious as to if Nasu has any plans for him in the future, given that Case Files references Arturia's extended family and Twrch Trwyth's appearance in FGO means he must exist by proxy.

Well I for one wouldn't mind more Welsh sheets like from the Four Branches of the Mabinogi or around Arturia's timeframe, or even more Mahabharata sheets from the Javanese version like the exclusive characters created for that particular version.

Tbh I'd rather he appear in Case Files than anywhere else, especially if your idea that he might be Gray's ancestor turns out to be more or less correct.
As for how the Treasures would be implemented, knowing Nasu it'd probably be something like this

Well, you're in luck bud as I happen to have a backlog of Arthurian sheets in the works. Most of them aren't KoRT either so it'll be interesting to see people's opinions on my attempts to integrate them into decent Servant sheets.

Hopefully I can get them out on a semi-regular basis.

Please do so, it's always nice to see the unexpected or genuinely surprising servant sheets when you consider most of the big names have been taken already. Speaking of which, does anybody here know how to do Javanese Mahabharata-type Servants, or was that all Gunbazca's department?

Too late for the monthly contest, but I might as well post it here at least:

    Tsunokuma Sekiso

    Class: Caster

    Alternate Classes: Archer, Saber

    Appearance:
A long black-haired Japanese man dressed in a ceremonial outfit akin to a priest or seer; however, under that garb he wears plated armor, for his place is on the battlefield.

    Alignment: Lawful Good

    Biography:
    Chasing the Whirlwinds of Destiny
During the Sengoku Jidai, Tsunokuma Sekiso loyally served under the warlord Otomo Sorin, ruler over much of Bungo [Oita prefecture, Kyushu). To be more precise, Sekiso belonged to the gunbaisha, a mystical trade of advisors who guided their lieges on military strategy while also combining tactics with supernatural arts such as feng shui and astrology to determine the destined course of battle. Of all the great gunbaisha, Sekiso's legend was the grandest, for not only could he predict the stars and weather, but he could control the elements with mystical attacks that devastated the battlefield. Moreover, he was a master of not only the mystical and martial arts, but also of moral conduct, and even his rivals grudgingly acknowledged his kind spirit and openness to sharing his knowledge with any who asked.

Unfortunately, though Sekiso's divinations enabled him to help his master in many instances, it could not help him when his master would not accept help. And in the quest for more power, Sorin had allied himself with the Portuguese Catholic missionaires, converting to Christianity and receiving guns and support in return. And this new religion had no patience for "pagan" superstitions. When Sekiso warned Sorin that all of the numerous divination rituals he had conducted, using every method he knew, foretold certain disaster in the upcoming battle at Mimikawa, Sorin dismissed his old advisor, for was it not promised that the Almighty Lord would watch over his children and let no harm come to them.

Despite his misgivings, Sekiso was loyal and conceded to his master's wishes. Before departing to lead the troops at the front, Sekiso made his last prayers and burned his records of his secret arts, perhaps to show solidarity with his converted master or perhaps in acknowledgement of what was to come. The Lord in a way did watch over Sorin in the battle, for he survived unharmed. But Sekiso's warning proved true, for while the two lived, tens of thousands of men in his army, including Sekiso, died in the bloody fray, ruining Sorin's dream of further glory. The warlord continued to fight on futilely for more years before dying from illness. As for his fallen gunbaisha, he is mostly remembered as a cautionary Cassandra who tried to save the Otomo army from its doom, only to be foolishly disregarded due to trust in foreign ideas.

    Personality:
Searching for the Truth in All Ways
Sekiso is a morally upright yet flexible man who believes that one can find wisdom and truth from all things, if one takes the time to understand and respect them. He was knowledgeable in all areas of mystic practices available to him in Japan, and was a devout Shintoist and Buddhist, yet he also had an affinity for scientific reasoning, such that he is considered one of the founding fathers of Japanese meteorology. This makes him a rather amiable person willing to teach and learn alike from all sorts of people - whether fellow mystics, practitioners of other religions, or scientists - and he will happily share fortunes and weather predictions with anyone willing to accept his delving into the fates.

Despite their disdain for his beliefs and role in his sworn liege's demise, Sekiso holds no particular grudge against Christians, for he sees that their faith understands certain truths of the world in their own way. That said, he feels that their monotheistic pride in their god blinds them to there being more than one way to interpret the truth, just as their belief in the Lord saving Sorin proved true but not in the way they assumed. Sekiso does hold some dislike toward the Shimazu clan, who were the fated victors of his untimely death and swallowed up his lord's holdings in the aftermath.

While his role as an advisor and mystic largely relegates him to the sidelines in battle, Sekiso is a loyal samurai retainer and ready to step onto the battlefield at a moment's notice. In fact, he has adapted much of his mystic arts into offensive techniques for fighting armies for his master. He strongly desires to have the chance to loyally serve a righteous ruler in the Holy Grail War; he hopes that his master in turn will come to trust his judgement on tactics and fortune, but he will follow regardless. His wish is to save his old master from the defeat that destroyed the great man's pride and ambition.

    Stats/Parameters:

    Strength: D+

    Endurance: C

    Agility: C

    Mana: A

    Luck:
    E

    Noble Phantasm:
    C

    Skills:
    Spoiler:
    Class Skills:

Item Construction (C)- The ability to manufacture magical items, from implements of war to items for daily use. Caster's ability is on the average level, with a specialization primarily in traditional Japanese ritual items and fortune talismans.

Territory Creation (C+)- The skill to build a special terrain that is advantageous to oneself as a magus, such as for the purpose of collecting mana. Though Caster never placed much practice into developing or warding a personal sanctum, as much of his time was out on the battlefield, he did master the art of feng shui to know the proper alignment and arrangement of things, giving him a slightly above average rank in the skill. He could feasibly make a small-scale 'Laboratory', and he is particularly adept at limited-range but mobile Bounded Fields to protect himself and his comrades as they charge into battle.

    Personal Skills:

Advice of the Strategist (C)- A skill given to military-affiliated Servants. By grasping and analyzing the situation, correct advice can be given to one's allies. The higher the rank, the better the probability of the advice given being correct. Though Caster's advice was always correct and led to many victories, its rank is diminished due his failure to convince his lord to listen to his warnings in the final battle.

Animal Dialogue (Birds, D)- Communication of intention with animals that do not speak a 'language of words'. Since it's not like the intellect of the animals improve, very complex nuances are not conveyed. Caster's ability is limited to birds: it is said that he could hail down ravens passing above. He even used his insights of avians to develop a sort of battle strategy based around dealing with birds, whether as allies or enemies.

Master of the Secret Ways (A)- A skill given to mystics who find answers to fate and truth in various signs around them, such as the stars and weather. As befitting a gunbaisho of great esteem, Caster is highly skilled in arts such as astrology and meteorology, letting him predict the optimal pathways to good fortune in all things. Furthermore, at such a high rank, he is able to manifest his understanding of the world's secret truths into manipulating the world's physical properties such as weather, allowing him to summon rainstorms or sudden gales of wind in whatever direction he so chooses.

Military Tactics (C+)- Tactical knowledge used not for one-on-one combat situations, but for battles where many are mobilized. Bonus modifiers are provided during use of one's own anti-army noble phantasm or when dealing against an enemy anti-army noble phantasm. When calling on his divinations for advice, Caster led his liege to victory after victory. Particularly when drawing upon mystical portents, Caster gains a high battle tactics bonus, but the bonus is lost if he is unable to use his mystical insights.

    Noble Phantasms:
    Spoiler:
    The Ultimate Truth

    Type: Divine, Magecraft, World

    Rank: EX

A culmination of all of Caster's study across multiple arts and disciplines to find the truest pathway to the future. The noble phantasm is essentially a comprehensive fortune-telling ritual, one that takes a full day of multiple ceremonies and divinations to be completed, though it is possible to cut out certain parts for a speedier albeit less reliable prediction. Because the divination is meant to be comprehensive, the end result, if done fully and properly will deliver a definitive truth of the world regarding a desired outcome, revealing what must and must not be done to make that wish a reality. There are admittedly several weaknesses to the divination aside from the casting time. First, if there are any mystical paths that could affect the outcome but were not covered in Caster's multiple rituals, the strength of the fortune's truth is diminished; that said, the ritual can be added upon, and Caster is always working to understand new perspectives so he can improve his fortunes accordingly. Second, it only gives the information on how to make the future possible, and it is up to Caster and his master to act properly to fulfill it. Third, by making such a strong push for a fortune, you are wishing for the fortune to become true - this means that once the noble phantasm is activated, the fortune is now a solid truth in the world, and it will be much harder to make it untrue; therefore, even if the resulting fortune is less than desired, Caster and his master have little choice but to accept the world's decree, for it shall be fulfilled one way or another.

    Blessed Light Over Mimigawa

    Type: Covenant, Anti-Death, Anti-Luck, Suicide

    Rank: C

A noble phantasm that embodies not Caster's triumphs, but rather his undoing, for his tale is a cautionary one of failing to trust one's advisor in favor of a foreign religion. Caster naturally is reluctant to use this noble phantasm, and for good reason, for it is a double-edged sword. In activating the noble phantasm, Caster and his master must pledge fealty to the Almighty God, humbly seeking his protection from all harm. Caster and his master will be surrounded in a glowing light of holy power. It grants them holy protection against attacks, and it also works to nullify any circumstances that could lead to their deaths, though it is possible for a strong enough force to pierce through the defenses. And any foe that makes contact with the holy flames will burn, with added damage to enemies perceived as "unholy".

However, in making the pact, a toll is also paid. Both Caster and his master become highly unlucky in all matters except avoiding direct harm to their bodies, and a curse of ill fortune is imposed on all allies not protected by the holy light. Moreover, Caster's considerable mystic skills are lost, such that his Mana, Item Construction, and Territory Creation ranks are reduced to D and Master of the Secret Ways is no longer accessible; other related penalties may also apply. In addition, while his master's protection will remain constant, Caster will gradually lose his protection from death, with his own pagan origins eventually marking him as an enemy of the flames and thereby someone to whom death is directed to rather than from.

Armaments: Caster's primary weapon is the gunbai, a war fan traditionally carried by gunbaisha. Though the fan's primary purpose is to signal messages to troops, Caster has reworked it into a offensive weapon for channeling his elemental attacks. He also carries a sword that he is decent with, though his skill is less than if he were to be summoned as a Saber. If summoned as an Archer, Sekiso could unleash a "sword storm" anti-army noble phantasm, in which a multitude of wakizashi sword swords are enchanted with mystical powers and swept up by the wind in a ruthless cyclone akin to the legends of the kamaitachi.

As a side project, I have been working on alternative sheets for the Servants introduced in Grand Order. To be precise, what they would be like if summoned in a different Class than what we see in the game. Here is the first of many more to come.

    Julio-Claudian Dynasty

The first Imperial House to rule over the Roman Empire. Consisting of the first five Roman Emperors, their reign lasted from the foundation of the Empire in the final years of the Age of Gods until halfway the first century of the Common Era. Its name is derived from the two major branches of this family: the Julii Caesares and the Claudii Nerones.

Despite being referred as a dynasty, direct succession between parent and child is notably absent here. As most of them failed to produce a legitimate heir, the established practice among the Julio-Claudian emperors was to name a young relative as an adopted child. The dynasty met its end when its last Emperor, Nero Claudius, died without naming a successor.

    Incitatus

Caligula’s favorite horse. Also, his mount when summoned as a Rider. Supposedly brought over from the province of Hispania, its name held the meaning of “swift” in Latin. It appears in a number of historical documents as the Emperor’s loyal companion.

According to legends, Caligula was an enthusiast of horse-racing and had his favorite horse enjoy an extravagant life-style. It lived in a stable of marble under the constant care of 18 servants, slept on purple blankets (which was a color restricted for the emperor’s exclusive use), ate a mixture of oats and gold flakes and had a horse tack adorned with jewels. Furthermore, it has been said that high officials would be invited to parties under Incitatus’ name and that Caligula nominated it for a seat in the senate during the height of this insanity, but those are probably just exaggerations that were fabricated after the Emperor’s death.

As a matter of fact, this horse is a Heroic Spirit in its own right. It was just a common animal like any other back during its lifetime, but thanks to the blessings of related anecdotes, it came to be endowed with many special abilities upon being summoned in modern times – such as a high spirituality, understanding human language, walking over water and others.

    CLASS SKILLS

    Magic Resistance: C
The capacity to negate or abate the effects of magecraft. Unable to negate magecraft, but damage value is reduced a little.

    Riding: B
The technical skill to mount on vehicles. It also displays its effects on mechanized vehicles. If it is an ordinary vehicle, then he can manage it better than an average person. It is also possible to control wild beasts that have never been tamed by humans, but he is unable to drive phantasmal species of magical beast and holy beast-rank such as Pegasus, Gryphon or the draconic species.

    PERSONAL SKILLS

    Architect King: EX
A title skill bestowed to a monarch that endeavored into construction projects during most of his rule. By securing its leyline beforehand, it becomes possible to freely reformimprove the urban and geographical characteristics of a given territory. In essence, something that allows him to completely monopolize field advantage.

Incidentally, his Noble Phantasm – Aqua Publica Novus – can only be activated within said territory.

    Imperial Privilege: A
Something that allows one to acquire skills that he originally would not have - even if only for a short while - by means of his insistence. A powerful, selfish claim skill possessed by the emperors who made the impossible possible by means of political power alone. But as expected, it is impossible to acquire a skill that he has no groundings in. He is just temporarily learning "the highest standard" of a technique that is already within the scope of what he can perform. At A Rank and above, even physical traits (such as Divinity) can be obtained.

    Predisposition to Sadism: A
A skill that applies plus modifiers to one’s aggressiveness during combat. Tends to appear as a plus skill, but because the sadistic nature of those who possess this grows the more battle drags on, they end up losing their usual composure…

    NOBLE PHANTASM

Aqua Publica Novus – Waterworks Innovation
    Rank: B+
    Type: Anti-Country

Rider Caligula’s main weapon. A Noble Phantasm derived from the sublimation of a past achievement. During his reign, the Third Emperor accomplished many construction projects for the benefit of Roman society. Among those, probably the most significant was the building of two new aqueducts for Rome – which was suffering from a drought at the time due the previous wellsprings running dry. In a sense, one could say that Caligula himself was a water bearer (Aquarius) that brought about a greatly needed fresh water (pump priming) to Rome.

An extremely powerful water manipulation ability. Not so much as summoning of waterbodies, but rather obtaining an absolute control over the flow of water within a given territory in order to freely govern its distribution. Its power and effective range does not go beyond the bounds of an Anti-ArmyAnti-Fortress Noble Phantasm, but since the control of such an essential natural resource can easily determine the fate of any nation, this falls on the Anti-Country category instead. Furthermore, since it also represents humanity’s karma of self-indulgently interfering with the environment just for the sake of their own convenience, this may as well be classified as Anti-Nature.

Speculum Dianae – Artificial ParadiseFlower in the Mirror, Moon on the Water
    Rank: A++
    Type: Anti-Fortress

The Nemi Ships. Twin, gigantic vessels constructed by Caligula during his lifetime. Located in Lake Nemi (hence the name), the historical ships were believed to have been created as pleasure barges. The Prima Nave (first ship) was essentially an elaborate floating palace, which contained many luxuries such as marble floors, heated baths and plumbing. The Seconda Nave (second ship) was mostly identical, but also contained a temple dedicated to the moon goddess.

(Incidentally, during the time of the Roman Empire, Lake Nemi was well known as a resort for rich people. Isolated from external influences by the surrounding crater walls, the area had its own microclimate that remained refreshingly cold even during the hot summer. A small paradise of abundant fresh water and clean air.)

Upon being sublimated as a Noble Phantasm, the ships were merged and established as a single naval mobile fortress. Not only it is protected from external interference by a powerful bounded-field (barrier), the ship itself is recognized as Caligula’s territory and he receives major bonuses while fighting inside of it. Still, as a fundamental restriction, this can only be summoned over large bodies of water.

These alone would already be enough to earn it recognition as a powerful trump card, but the true worth of this ship lies in something else. Namely, it can be used as a catalyst to perform the great ritual that Caligula once attempted during his lifetime. If the ritual is successful, the divine protection of the moon goddess will manifest, making him virtually invincible.

However, should the ritual fail by any reason, the divine protection will instead turn into a curse of madness that distorts the mentality of all those within range. Caligula himself is particularly affected by this, going as far as tampering with his Saint Graph. In other words, a Class Change into a Berserker...

    Background
    BACKGROUND

Caligula. Born in the 1st Century, he was originally named Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus Germanicus in honor to his famous ancestor. The Third Emperor of the Ancient Roman Empire who left behind many anecdotes of insanity and atrocity. An anti-hero that usually would be allocated to the Berserker Class, but...

...due extraordinary circumstances, at this time he has been summoned as a Rider while in a state corresponding to the early days of his reign, back when he still was regarded a wise ruler.

He came to the world as the child of the famous Roman general Germanicus and his wife Agrippina the Elder. In his childhood, the young Gaius would often accompany his father to the frontlines while wearing a miniature military uniform that his mother prepared to him. This lead him to be nicknamed “Caligula” (little boot) after the small pair of boots that were characteristic of the uniform.

Germanicus was the adopted son and heir apparent to the Second Emperor Tiberus. Furthermore, Agrippina was the granddaughter of the First Emperor Augustus. But despite such outstanding pedigree, Caligula’s ascension was far from a smooth one. To begin with, he was just the third son and would never have the chance to inherit anything under normal circumstances.

Everything changed when Germanicus met an untimely death while away in an expedition. In the aftermath of this tragedy, Emperor Tiberus and Agrippina had a falling out due political reasons. Fearing that the heiress of Augustus would work to undermine his position, Tiberus fabricated accusations of treason so he could have her exiled along with Germanicus elder sons. Meanwhile, Caligula and his younger sisters (who were still children at the time) remained in Rome, under Tiberus’s personal care.

What followed after was nothing short of a torture for Caligula. Well aware that his each and every step was under strict surveillance, he had to put on a facade of a loyal subject and thoroughly conceal his animosity towards the Emperor. For all intents and purposes, he was a prisoner within his own house.

This state of affairs persisted for several years. However, when news that his mother and brothers died under suspicious circumstances eventually reached him, Caligula went into a fit of rage and determined himself to seek revenge. He invaded the Imperial Chambers one night, dagger in hand. Since the only ones present at the time were Caligula and Tiberus himself, nobody knows what exactly transpired in that room. Nevertheless, the son of Agrippina left the room without laying a hand on his family’s nemesis, instead dropping his weapon at the Emperor’s feet. From his part, Tiberus choose to not punish Caligula for the treasonous act and did not pursue the matter any further.

Eventually, Caligula was formally adopted by the Emperor and named as his heir. Even to this day, many are puzzled of why Tiberus would do such a thing for a man who once attempted to murder him. A popular theory says that, in that night at the Imperial Chambers, Tiberus supposedly saw through Caligula’s true nature – the brutality and sadism which were hidden behind the mask of a well-behaved child. Near the end of his life, the Second Emperor came to loathe the country that he ruled. By allowing Caligula to ascend to the throne, Tiberus hoped to set up the downfall of Rome.

    Wise Ruler

Caligula came to power in 37 A.D. His ascension was met with great popular approval, as the rise of a new Emperor was a welcome change to the old and petty Tiberus. Furthermore, he soon began implementing many measures that benefited the general public, which brought him tremendous popularity in the early stages of his reign.

That being said, it was not like there were no problems. For one thing, Caligula was somewhat lacking in moderation regarding finances. His extravagance burned through the Imperial reserves and he nearly bankrupted the state at one point. Meanwhile, although his measures favorable to the masses, they were often implemented at the detriment of the ruling elite – especially the nobles of the Senate and the military. Frictions between the Emperor and these two groups was quite pronounced during Caligula's administration. Nevertheless, he managed to keep the Empire running by means of vigorous, but sensible efforts.

All that changed at some point.

As time went by, Caligula's behavior became more and more controversial. Political adversaries were ruthlessly purged. Acts of barbarity were performed on a whim, for no clear reasons. In his private time, he lived a life of debauchery and indulgence. Chief among his misconducts was the insistence of being treated as a living god by his subjects (although it was not uncommon for Roman monarchs to be deified after death, to do so while the concerned person was still alive was unheard of until then).

Such behavior brought about accusations of insanity and misgovernment against Caligula, which in turn gave new momentum to conspiracies against him. Everything culminated in an assassination plot carried out by the Praetorian Guard. In January 41 A.D., Caligula was ambushed during a public appearance at a festival and stabbed multiple times by his own elite bodyguards (historians often make parallels between Caligula's death and that of his own namesake).

    ***

On a side note, although this is not registered in official history, Caligula’s change in behavior had a clear reason behind it. Everything draws back to a certain failed project of his.

Maybe thanks to its natural isolation, the Lake Nemi still retained some lingering traces of the Age of Gods back when Caligula was alive. By taking advantage of that, the Emperor aimed at turning it into an artificial paradise, completely removed from the disturbances of the outside world. After preparing an appropriate altar, he attempted to summon a divinity that had strong ties with that land.

Unfortunately, his endeavor back-fired. The blessing of the goddess that were supposed to bring peace and tranquility instead became a curse that corroded his mind.

    ***

Everything was for the sake of a single speck of light. After being given hope by a small, brilliant life that was much like a star, Caligula attempted to confine it into a specially made sanctuary for safekeeping. Not unlike how one would place a preserved rose inside a glass case...

    Relationships

    RELATIONSHIPS

Nero: beloved niece. He cannot help but dote her like she was his own daughter… this is a digression, but one of the many accusations made against Caligula was that he kept incestuous relations with his sisters. If those accusations were true, then Nero’s actual father was...

Julius Caesar: of course, a target of respect and admiration. Still, given the issue around his birth name, Caligula cannot help but have something of a complex towards him.

Caligula (Berserker): his maddened self. Although Caligula finds that deranged figure hard to watch, he also feels a little jealous of the fact that he does not have to suppress his inherent brutality.

Artemis: as expected, even the haughty Caligula cannot stand up to her. Given a past trauma, he becomes unnaturally well-behaved whenever the moon goddess is around.

I was thinking about making a Quasimido sheet ages back, but never started it. I was planning on doing something with Victor Hugo's concept of 'the edifice' (architecture as a pre-(widespread) literacy method of communication) for the Notre Dam NP.
