Interesting ideas though i cant get around imagining them all as Extra!nero in a different outfit (berserker: nude or scraps and a crown, Archer: Toga androman armor, Rider: female version of Ben Hur's outfit)

These profiles are supposed to be applied to a non-genderbent, male version of Nero. Also, because of the Innocent Monster skill, this is the Nero that went down in popular culture: completely insane.

Although I can relate to what you said: I can't help but to picture Archer!Nero as Speedy (something I don't particularly enjoy...)

    Rider
(Sons used to smash their dad’s car the very same night they‘re allowed to take the keys even in the Greece of the Age of the God.)
Awesome work, Sherrin. Definitely a favorite of mine, now - however ironic that may be. =P
And I laughed a lot at the note on Rider. XD

I'm not quite sure what I did but I got thanked for it, which is always a nice feeling.

Anyway those were some great character sheets. I actually think I'm a bit more knowledgeable now, which is always a good sign.

You answered my question. Therefore you get credited for helping.

What I learned after reading a bit more into Nero's biography is, you could pretty much write two biographies of him: in one he's a crazy monster, in the other he's barely an eclectic character that happened to be born into one of the worst possible environment, surrounded by educated criminals.

    Saint

In the Christian faith, “saint” is a term used to refer to someone who, while still human, is in a standing closer to God than other people. For saints recognized as canon by the Roman Catholic Church, most can be classified into two groups: those who were born with a certain special trait (stigmata) that makes them similar to the Son of God and those who performed deeds for the sake of humanity and Christianity as a whole. This Servant appears to belong to the former group.

    Bayard

A magnificent bay horse renowned for its bravery. It appears in several legends, always serving as the loyal mount of virtuous heroes. According with the anecdotes, it possesses the intellect to understand human language and is capable of adjusting itself in order to achieve optimal affinity with its master. So long it is a master that Bayard has approved, he will have no trouble riding it, regardless of his own skills.

…having said that, this is not actually a horse, or even a living creature for that matter. Rather, it is a Holy Spirit that merely took the form of a stallion. An envoy of heavens that has the mission of being of assistance to righteous warriors.

    CLASS SKILLS

    Magic Resistance: A
The capacity to negate or abate the effects of Magecraft. Cancels all Magecraft of A Rank (High-Thaumaturgy that makes use of magic circles and Instantaneous Contracts) and below. Therefore, he cannot be injured by modern magi. In case of a single stroke, he may even hold back the coercion of the Command Spell.

Due the threefold protection of his divinity, faith and the Noble Phantasm, he possesses top-tier Magic Resistance. However, as a side effect, it suffers a major Rank-DOWN when dealing with the sacraments of the Church.

    If a Rider...
    Riding: B
The technical skill to mount on vehicles. It also displays its effects on mechanized vehicles. If it is an ordinary vehicle, then he can manage it better than an average person. It is also possible to control wild beasts that have never been tamed by humans, but he is unable to drive Phantasm Species of Magic Beast and Holy Beast rank such as Pegasus, Gryphon or the Dragon Species.

    If a Saver...
    Aura of a Savior: B
The ability to support others through just one’s presence alone. Improves the moral and provides bonus modifiers to the rolls of all allies within a given distance.

    PERSONAL SKILLS

    Battle Continuation: A+
The ability of returning alive. Strength of vitality for predicaments. A Skill that decreases the death rate due to injury and makes possible to fight even in a condition of bearing serious wounds that would put him on the verge of death. At the highest rank, this is already a type of immortality.

    Divinity: D
Whatever one has Divine Spirit aptitude. The higher the level more one is treated as a mixed race of a materialized Divine Spirit. Other than breaking Skills such as Protection of the Faith and Enlightenment of the Bodhi Tree, there is also an effect that reduces the special defensive value called “purge defense” in proportion to the Rank in this Skill.

Although low, he has some Divine Spirit aptitude due being born with a body in the likeness to the Son of God.

    Discernment of the Poor: C
The insight to see through the personality・alignment of the opponent. It is hard to trick him with excuses, deceptions by means of words. At times, it is even possible to perceive the hidden true feelings that the concerned person himself is not aware of.

At the beginning of every combat, Georgios uses this Skill to instantly discern if his opponent is “an enemy that must be defeated”.

    Guardian Knight: A+
The ability to temporarily raise one’s own defensive power when acting as an escort for others. At A Rank and above, bonus modifiers for saving throws are also provided.

    Protection of the Faith: B
A Skill possessed only by those who sacrificed themselves for a religious view. Despite being called a divine protection, there are no blessings from a supreme being. There is only the absoluteness of one’s mind・body that is born from faith. Induces abnormalities on the personality if its rank is too high.

    NOBLE PHANTASM

Ascalon – A Standard for the Holy Pilgrimage
    Rank: B+
    Type: Anti-Unit
A cross-shaped divine spear that Georgios acquired in the city of Ashkelon. That city possesses is an important place for the history of Christianity. This is particularly true in regards to the time of the Crusades. Back then the Crusaders regarded the city as an important defensive position for the protection of the Holy City (Jerusalem).

Just equipping this spear will grant a great boost to all defensive values and saving throws. There is also an effect that prevents enemies from targeting anyone other than the wielder of this spear while he stands on the battlefield. Furthermore, because it possesses anecdotes of exterminating dragons, it inflicts additional damage against opponents that have the dragon-attribute.

This is a digression, but in the tales of the Seven Champions of Christendom, Ascalon is described not as a spear, but rather as a magic sword that was given to St. George by a witch who fell in love with him.

Silene – The Prayer of a Maiden
    Rank: A
    Type: Anti-Unit
Georgios’ greatest trump card against the Phantasm Species. A woman’s long girdle furnished with strong binding powers against monsters. Not something that restrains the body, but instead subdues the mind, the soul.

Once this Noble Phantasm binds the target, his savagery and destructive impulses will be suppressed to the limit. Furthermore, if the target is something that falls on the “monster” category, it will also display the additional effect of sealing away any supernatural abilities it might possess. However, since what is targeted is mainly the base violent instincts possessed as a living being, its effectiveness is low against the malice born from reason, and it is pretty much powerless against existences that are not endowed with this sort of instinct in the first place.

Incidentally, the true source of this Silene’s power is Georgios’ own divinity and unwavering faith. The girdle is merely medium that conveys that power onto the target.

    Background
    BACKGROUND

One of the prominent saints from Christianity, St. George. His cult is widespread all over the world and he is particularly popular on within the Catholic creed as protective holy warrior. There are several literary works that depict his adventures – with the Golden Legend and the Seven Champions of Christendom being the most famous.

…however, those are mostly fanciful tales with little to no base in real facts. The man who became the source for those tales was someone with a very different past.

His story originated in the Middle East. Around 270 AD, in the city of Lydda, Palestine, a young boy was born from a couple of Greek descent. The father, Gerontios, was an officer in the Roman army, while the mother, Polychronia, was the daughter of a local noble house. Both were devout Christians who valued the quality of humility. As such, they decided to call their son Georgios, which in Greek meant “worker of the land” (i.e. farmer).

Georgios’ early life was a happy, albeit uneventful one. As expected of the young son of a well-to-do family, most of his childhood was spent receiving lectures on the most varied subjects, including the Christian beliefs. Naturally, he eventually grew up to be an educated, pious Christian.

Midway into his adolescence, Georgios parents passed away and left him with no living relatives. Suddenly having to choose his fate for himself, he decided to follow his father’s footsteps and applied to become a soldier of the Roman Empire in the capital city of Nicomedia. It was around them that he met with Emperor Diocletian.

Diocletian knew Georgios’ father from his time in the army and held the man in high esteem. Thus, he naturally decided to take the son of his late friend under his wing and help him in his career. With the support of the Emperor himself, Georgios quickly climbed ranks in the Roman army, eventually becoming a member of the Imperial Guard.

Georgios had everything to become a successful officer in the army, but a twist of fate changed that.

Facing political pressure, Diocletian was forced to issue an edict against the Christians within the Empire. Impelled by his sense of justice, Georgios publicly repudiated that edict. Declaring himself a believer of Jesus Christ to all his fellow soldiers, he swore to do everything in his power to protect the persecuted Christians.

This left Diocletian very upset. If Georgios continued to disobey imperial orders in his quest, he would eventually be sent to the gallows. Diocletian did not wished to lose one of his best officers like that. Besides, he felt he had to save Georgios for the sake of his late friend’s memory. The Emperor promised titles and riches to Georgios in exchange of he converting himself to the Roman gods.

    He received an immediate refusal.

Of all things, do not ask that from me!” Georgios scolded in a rare moment of anger. “Do not ask me to betray everything that I believed to be righteous throughout my whole life. To do so would turn all that I did until now into lies. And more than anything…

…Georgios’ faith was the last heirloom his parents left him. To abandon it also meant turning his back to them. As a good son who loved his family, that alone was something he could never do.

Accepting that his efforts were futile, Diocletian had no choice but to have Georgios punished for his crime. He was then arrested for treason against the Empire and forced to go through many tortures. During this time, Georgios was continuously pressed to renounce his faith, but he remained devoted to the end. Finally, he was exposed to the eyes of the public at Nicomedia’s city walls and then executed by decapitation.

This is the story of Georgios, the man with the soul of a martyr. Afterwards, when his tale was spread across the Christendom, he became known as St. George, the Saint of Providence who guards the weak and saves the oppressed.

Incidentally, though he had a relatively short military career, Georgios still had the opportunity to travel across all over the Empire while under the service of Diocletian.

The Original Crusader (Knight of the Cross)

There is an agreement among modern scholars that most of the known heroic tales involving St. George are fabrication. Preposterous allegories written in times of ignorance, by and for a people that desperately needed something to believe in… but one tale holds a special position among them.

A long time ago, the inhabitants of the city of Silene, Lybia, were being tyrannized by the existence of an evil dragon. It had made a nest near a lake, which was the only source of drinkable water that the city had. Every time that the dragon left its nest to hunt for food, it would spill its poisonous breath over the lake and pollute its waters.

In order to have it constantly withdrawn into his nest, the people of Silene began to sacrifice their livestock and feed them to the dragon. However, that served only as a temporary solution and eventually livestock alone was not enough to keep it satiated. With the very survival of the city at stake, the king of Silene took a drastic measure: they would start to send out their own children to become the dragon’s meals.

The counter-measured worked, and for a time the city was at peace.

But the people were still suffering.

Parents fell in despair when the city’s lottery selected their child to be the next sacrifice. Children cried in vain as the city’s soldiers took them away from their houses and escorted them to the dragon’s nest. The people pleaded for the king to find another solution, but he ignored them, saying that everything was for the sake of Silene.

That tragedy continued on, until one day the name of the princess came out of the lottery. As she was his only and beloved daughter, the king became distraught with grief at the thought of losing her. He tried to appeal for the people to spare her, going as far as bribing them with riches and territory. But they refused.

You forced us to abandon our own children to that beast,” they said “So why now you should not make the same sacrifice yourself? O king, know some shame!”

Forced by the circumstances, the king had to sent his daughter to the nest in order to become a sacrifice. Always dignified, the princess accepted her fate without crying or making protests. In a gesture of bravery, she left alone for the nest without taking a escort with her… but fear began to overwhelm her in the middle of the way.

At that moment, maybe by coincidence or maybe by fate, a traveling Georgios passed by the region and met with the princess. Seeing her distressed figure, he immediately extended a helping hand towards her. Of course, the princess refused.

Please good sir, do not bother yourself with me. Just go away.

She told him everything. She told him how her people was victimized because of the dragon, and how her own father trampled on their suffering by forcing them to do the abominable. Since it had come to this, it was only natural for her to be sacrificed in order to compensate for the sin of her father and appease some of the people’s resentment.

I understand what you’re saying,” the warrior said, his eyes overflowing with conviction. “But your feelings and circumstances are completely unrelated from my desire to save you.

Completely disregarding the pleas of the princess, Georgios met the evil dragon in battle. And after a long, arduous battle, the guardian knight was able to inflict a fatal wound on the beast with the divine spear Ascalon. As the dragon was laying on the ground in agony, Georgios improvised a leash from the princess girdle and dragged the monster back to Silene. It has been said that, upon seeing what the holy warrior had accomplished with the blessings of his God, the whole city was converted to Christianity, starting from the king himself.

…It is unsure of how much of that anecdote is truth. But since vague accounts and evidences supporting it have appeared from several sources over time, some people have reservations in simply discarding it as a fabrication.

At any rate, this is seen as one of the earliest accounts of a “knight-errant”, which have set the foundations for the concept of chivalry. In special, back in the Middle Ages, the Crusaders found great inspiration in this tale about a warrior that travels far away from home and defeats a great evil in order to save the innocents.

^ Blame that on the fact that I've been reading Nasu's texts too much...

Personally, I use "digression" whenever I give a bit of trivia that is not directly related to the Servant himself, but still helps express an important point about him.

I like the Nero profiles. I mean, they vaguely irk me because I'm mostly on the side of 'Tacitus is a jealous little toad', but they're very competently put together.

Can't believe I'm going to say this but he really needs to be buffed. Ali is pretty much as famous as King Arthur and his sword is like the Islamic version of Excalibur and shit. His stats should be at least around the class container at least (A rank strength B rank Agility and Endurance) and his sword should be like B+ tier at least.

We discussed an Ali sheet earlier, actually, and given that there was a specific feat of lifting a gate which required the strength of forty men, I'd think B is correct. I like the sword being buffed (again, something we talked over last time), but while I'll certainly give you martial prowess, I'm not actually big on giving him huge physical boosts. They're not what comes across to me.

His stats should at least match the big western heroes, he's like the islamic equivalent of those guys. I can't imagine him being like Emiya and barely holding off Cu Chulainn, if he was to fight him in melee.
