no, actually Gray has been adamant about Mordred in particular. As with many Gilgamesh fans he rejects any chance Mordred has to lose a fight with Satoshi. I can at least understand the Gil fans, I don't agree but I can understand their problem.

What was the context? You said that in your setting, every Heroic Spirit was real, and claimed that was also true in FSN until Nasu retconned it. But FSN itself says that not every Heroic Spirit was real and that some only existed in myths, which means it's not a retcon. It's just an easily overlooked detail.
Mcjon, this is set in the Lantzone, where canon is what he decrees it is, facts be damned. Stop trying to enforce logic, it's like running into a brick wall.

faulty implications on Nasu's part. See in the novel they clearly introduced Kojiro, he's explicitly fake and the included reason is that the guy in question never existed. This implies that any hero who is real also really existed. That is, what the reader takes away from the statements. Obviously not the case in canon but still what is implied.

It really doesn't. It says that Kojiro never existed, but Assassin is not Kojiro, he is just Nameless Yamato Farmer #4351 who was really similar to Kojiro, had the same kind of weapon as Kojiro and mastered Tsubame Gaeshi, like Kojiro. This is why he's "Fake".

He's not as strong, due to the fact that doing the Moon Dunk devastated his body, but he's in no danger of dying as far as we know.
