Snorri didn't really record, rather he added commentary to provide context.

He himself probably used the same source we do, the Codex Regius.

His attempted syncretism was not aimed to please, but rather to make others understand, as well as grant some legitimacy to Norse society from a Christian perspective.

In that case, the answer's no. As far back as Homer, Aeneas is meant to survive the sack of Troy and Vergil's got older Roman models when it comes to saying that Aeneas founded (the city that founded) Rome.

[So, hey everyone! I decided to try my hand to this again, this time my attempt at creating a Hassan-i-Sabbah. Sorry if it's a bit wordy!]

    Apperance
You have finally done it. It has taken you months, but you've finally acquired a Catalyst and have enough Prana to finally pull this off. You place you hard-earned prize(the bottom half of a mask, shaped somewhat like the grinning mouth of a skull) in the summoning circle and begin the spell. And finally, you gaze upon your instrument of destruction. The first thing you notice is the mask; the top of the Hassan's traditional disguise is present, but it appears to have been broken in half, leaving a crack down the middle of the remaining portion and her face below her eyes exposed. You look at your Servant, a young woman no older than 19, more carefully... She isn't hideous? That is the best you can say about her body; the charitable would call her painfully plain. The more honest would call her ugly, if not unusually so. And then, she speaks. You are struck wordless, your thoughts battered into chaotic disarray. It is... Perfect! Every word, every syllable, a work of art so exquisite, it shears away a bit of your will every second you hear it, a thousand tiny hooks digging into your soul. And you love it! It is wonderful, a pleasure you would never have dreamed of before! You know in your heart that she is your goddess, and that all your petty taboos and morals mean nothing compared to her lightest whims. You hear her clear her throat, and you realize you have fallen to your knees in rapture. Worse, you have been so consumed by ecstasy you failed to understand what she said! You bow before her, begging forgiveness, and she deigns to repeat herself. In a tone of smug irony that melts you heart with joy, she asks "Are you my Master?"

    Stats
    Class: Assassin
    "Real Name": Hassan-i-Sabbah the Seventh/Afia
Other Names: The Impious Assassin, The Disgraced Assassin, "Alihat".
    Gender: Female
    Alignment: Neutral Evil

    STATS
    Strength: D(E-)
    Agility: D(E-)
    Endurance: D(E-)
    Magic: B(D)
    Luck: A(E-)
    Noble Phantasm: A++
[Stats in parenthesis are the effects of the Curse of Hassassin]

    Skills
    CLASS SKILLS:
    •Presence Concealment: D
The capacity to hide one's presence as a Servant. Vaguely suitable for spying. In life, Assassin possessed a much higher rank in life, but her betrayal of all the name Hassan-i-Sabbah stands for has provided a significant Rank-Down.

    PERSONAL SKILLS
    •Disengage: B(-)
The ability to break away from combat. At this level, Assassin may quickly escape from conflicts that are not in her favor with no negative effects, something she is likely to do the second a fight breaks out. When afflicted with the Curse of Hassassin, this skill is sealed.

    •Familiars(Songbirds): C
The ability to create Familiars of a type of animal. At this rank, Assassin can create any number of non-combat familiars she can control through thought alone, and may see through the eyes of a single one of her familiars at a time, at a distance up to 8 miles.

•The Curse of the Hassassin: A
Not so much a skill as an affliction, a punishment for her ultimate betrayal of the Hassan legacy, born of the outrage of all Hassassins who came before and after her. Unlike every other "Old Man of the Mountains", her True Name is still extant in the world. Once she is summoned, the power of her curse will nudge the will of Gaia, ensuring at least one source detailing her name and history will arrive to the site of the Grail War.

This is her greatest weakness, for if her True Name is spoken in her presence, her total betrayal of the principles of the Hassan will apply to her the concept "unworthy of the Class Container Assassin". Because her ability to exist in the world is because she possesses the concept "worthy of the Class Container Assassin", the resulting contradiction wreaks havoc on the Ether that makes up her form. For the next hour, her parameters are reduced severely [post-reduction parameters are shown in parenthesis] and her Disengage skill is sealed off. Worse, any victim of Wine of Alquah who hears her true name is freed from its effects, and is permanently rendered immune to the Phantasm so long as they live.

    Noble Phantasm
    Zabaniya- Wine of Alquah
    Rank: A++
    Type: Anti-Mind
It is whispered amongst many of the order of the Hassassin, killers rendered mad by hashish and who believed that their leader would take them bodily to Paradise if they succeeded. Under the Impious Assassin, these legends were mostly true; what they failed to understand was that the source of each fanatic's intoxication was something far more potent than a mere derivative of Cannabis. This assassination technique, the signature of the 7th Hassan-i-Sabbah, was the result of a decade's worth of constant meditation and training, slowly turning her voice-box into a bizarre hybrid of vocal cords and Magic Circuits. The result is a voice that can only be called truly perfect, ensnaring the soul of all who hear her. Those who hear her voice at its most basic level find it harder to resist her commands. Normal humans find themselves becoming cripplingly weak, clumsy, stupid, or generally finding any quality used to defy her orders become lessened. For Heroic Spirits, they merely suffer the penalty of resisting a powerful Master's broad Command Spell, suffering a Rank-Down to an appropriate Parameter when they try to disobey(that is, Strength if she ordered them not to attack, Agility if she told them to stand still, etcetera.) The sole exception is any command which the target believes will bring him harm; she could order a man to drop his gun if there was no apparent threat, but not if a mob of cultists armed with knives were surrounding him.

This, in the end, is merely a amusing distraction compared to the more active effects of the Phantasm. At the cost of heavily increasing the Prana drain induced by Wine of Alquah, she may funnel this energy through her modified vocal cords in the same way a Magnus might cycle Prana through their Magic Circuits, abet with a much greater effect. Anyone who hears her during this brief period who lacks Magic Resistance, Bravery, Mental Pollution, or other defensive skill of at least D are made hers, mind, body, and soul. These thralls see her as nothing short of a goddess, and will do absolutely anything to please her, regardless of their former moral code.

There are a few quirks in regards to this NP. The plusses are applied when using this Phantasm against those who are unaware of Assassin's true nature as a Servant, making it much more effective against civilians and mundane authorities. Another important fact to note is that this only works with her direct, untarnished voice; she could not use it over a telephone or through a speaker, forcing her to get uncomfortably close to a target before she can use it, and being deaf, blocking your ears, or even having her voice drowned out by another source of sound protect the victim from her power. Once Assassin is dead, all victims of this Phantasm are freed, and remember their time in thrall with the hazy distortion of a forgotten dream.

    Lore
In life, her fellow Hassassins knew her by many names. The Beloved Assassin, the Songbird Assassin, the Perfect Assassin. In death, they knew her only by two; the Impious Assassin, and the Disgraced Assassin. But she did not start out that way.

Once, she was a young girl, an orphan plain in face but with a wonderful singing voice, inducted into the Hassassins at the age of nine. She trained with the same fervor as her fellow recruits, but in her heart she was not satisfied. In her heart she feared her own death, and knew that to attempt to spill another's blood with her own hands would invite the end of her life. She possessed a talent for creating Familiars, but nothing she could kill with. And so, for a decade, she secretly trained apart from the others, seeking a way to kill another without being near them. When the time came to declare new Hassan, she was the obvious choice. In part because she had already developed a Zabaniya, and part because, while many had ways of protecting their minds from magecraft, they never expected to have to use them against one of their own.

To say her time as Hassan-i-Sabbah was one the order saw as a great shame is a understatement. She did not love the God of her people as a Hassan should; in fact, she did not love him at all! She outright believed herself to be a goddess, and was quick to warp the minds of her fellow Hassassins to believe the same. Under her mad reign, the order did not kill in the name of their God, but instead slew those who earned the wrath of Assassin. Alamut changed from a home of learning and knowledge to a den of sin and debauchery unseen before or since in those lands. But all rulers, no matter how terrible, must come to a end.

It was her pride that brought her fall about. Yes, she had perverted the order to her will, but she wanted more! And so she gathered those Hassassins who were most in her thrall, and cast off her mask, throwing it to the earth with such force it split in two. She traveled to the great capital, and in a single moment committed her ultimate betrayal of the order, as she shouted to all who could hear "Come, my servants, and attend to you mistress, the goddess Afia!" And so she, the only Hassan wicked enough to break her oath and reclaim her name, marched to the palace, followed by a growing mob of worshippers. At the gates of the palace, she made to speak... And received an arrow through her forehead, courtesy of a nervous and jumpy young guard, killing her almost instantly.

Assassin regrets her death. Not the actions leading up to it, mind; she looks back on those days fondly. No, what she regrets is losing her fear of death, even for a moment. Her wish is merely to remain in this world, moving from "Master" to "Master" as she drains them dry, slowly creating a world where the only being worshipped is herself.

[So, yeah. Is this any good? Sorry if it's a bit too wordy.]

This one's my first foray into genderbending, as well as a challenge to myself to make a Servant that wouldn't be out of place in a stay/night Grail War. What I didn't realize was that this sheet is actually just Medea with Medusa's NP. I suppose I have to apologize for that. Anyway, enjoy. I'm going to make sheets for Baldr and Hod next, so you might want to look out for that.

    Class: Caster
    Attribute: Man
    Alignment: Neutral Evil

    STR: E
    END: E
    AGI: C
    MGI: B
    LCK: D
    NP: C

    Skills:

    Item Construction: C
Caster can construct mundane magical items and above-average Mystic Codes.

    Territory Creation: C
The establishment of a "workshop", or in this case, a "homestead", becomes possible.

    Witchcraft: B
Caster specializes in rituals of involving love and infatuation, which helped him seduce the normally pious John Proctor.

    Noble Phantasm:

    The Crucible: Haze of Disorder
    Rank: B
    Class: Anti-Army
    Range: 1-50
    Max targets: 600 people
This Bounded Field is the crystallization of Caster's legend: whipping the population of three villages into a witch-hunting frenzy due to mounting paranoia. When the Field is fully set up, all targets within it begin to experience a sense of unease. Afterwards, people begin experiencing shaking fits, and before long, the afflicted die. This naturally throws the victims into chaos and they may start killing each other by mistake due to fear. Caster can crystallize the fear and unease harvested from the Bounded Field's targets into prana, making it a very effective means of replenishing energy.

    Lore
Caster's true identity is that of the principal accuser in the Salem witch trials, Abigail Williams. However, Abigail was actually a young man named Abraham, who was a practicing Magus in the town of Salem. His preferred field was, of course, Witchcraft, and, given time, he would have eventually become one of the most skilled practitioners of the craft in seventeenth century America. But all that changed when he fell in love with a pious man named John Proctor. He had used wiles and sorcery to seduce Proctor, but Abraham eventually decided to lift his spell on Proctor so they could fall in love for real. Proctor immediately denounced Abraham, calling him a "man-whore" and a "witch".

Enraged, the young man decided to lash out against society for refusing to accept "deviants" like himself, and so he concocted a plan that would change the lives of all around him forever. He bewitched at least three young women into following his orders and used them to convict nineteen people, including Tituba, his former teacher, and Proctor himself of witchcraft. Both rejoicing that he had exacted his revenge and lamenting that it cost so many lives, he left Salem at the height of the trials, leaving no trace to his whereabouts. He was then killed by a Church Executor on charges of witchcraft while trying to flee the country.

Through hundreds of years, records of the witch trials were modified to accommodate the sensibilities of the public, turning it from a tragic moment of revenge into an almost childish affair, and the scorned young man who was its instigator became a sick little girl, yet another victim of the craft of the Devil.

I took a whack at the greatest hero of Roman mythology.

    Class:
    Lancer
    Identity: Aeneas
    Alternate Classes: Saber, Rider
    Alignment: Chaotic Good

    Aeneas.jpg

When Troy fell and the city’s sons were slaughtered and enslaved, a warrior twice saved by the gods set out on a journey to find a place that he could call home. Unlike Odysseus, who wished to return home after victory in the Trojan War, Aeneas and his compatriots left Troy defeated and looking for a new land to call their own. They would travel for years, facing many obstacles and when they eventually found a place they could call home they fought long and hard against the native inhabitants. Aeneas acted as progenitor of the Romans and the legendary kings of Britain through one of his grandsons, Brutus.

    Stats
    STR: B
    END: A
    AGI: B
    MGI: C
    LCK: A
    NP: B+

    Skills

Magic Resistance: B (Cancel spells with a chant below three verses.)

    Riding: A
(All creatures but those of Phantasmal Beast and Divine Beast-rank can be used as mounts.)

    Bravery: A
(The ability to negate mental interference in the midst of battle. At this rank, it also grants a bonus effect of increased melee damage.)

    Charisma: C
(Aeneas’ role in leading the few remaining Trojans from Troy to Latium makes other believe in him and follow him into battle without basis.)

Disengage: C (Bonus effect of returning battle conditions to what they were at the beginning of the match.)

    Divinity: A
(Aeneas is the son of the goddess Venus and Anchises, a prince from Dardania. Though he was only half god in life, his mother asked the god Jupiter to make her son immortal as he lay dying on the battlefield. Jupiter agreed and Aeneas was cleansed of his mortal nature and recognized as the god Jupiter Indiges.)

    Noble Phantasms
Etna’s Defense: Vulcan’s Etna Forged Armor

    Type: Anti-Unit
    Rank: B+
    Range: -
Maximum number of targets: 1 person
Description: As Turnus and Aeneas did battle, Turnus’ mighty blade struck the Trojan warrior. Rather than spelling the end for Aeneas, the blade shattered when it made contact with his armor. Forged by his mother’s husband, Vulcan, in the heart of the volcano Etna, Aeneas’ armor is impenetrable to all but an A ranked attack.

    Piras Dorata: Venus’ Fury
    Type: Anti-Unit
    Rank: B+
    Range: 5-40
    Maximum number of targets: 2-5
Description: As with the rest of Aeneas’ armor and weaponry, his spear was forged by Vulcan. In his battle with Turnus, Aeneas threw his spear and when it landed it struck an Olive tree. Turnus prayed to the local gods that the spear would not come loose, and when Aeneas went to put the spear he found there was nothing he could do to remove it. Enraged by this Venus pulled the spear out of the tree herself and returned it to her son. When thrown, Storgedorata will always return to Aeneas after inflicting its blow.

    Piras Dorata: Piercing Blow
    Type: Anti-Army
    Rank: B+
    Range: 1-45
    Maximum number of targets: 10-50
Description: After failing to kill Aeneas with a large rock, Turnus took cover behind his shield. When Aeneas threw his spear it pierced clean through Turnus’ shield and leg. When Aeneas calls out the name of his Noble Phantasm and throws it, no barrier or defense can prevent it from striking its target. This does not guarantee a killing blow to the target, only that the blow will land no matter what tries to impede it.

You made an Aeneas sheet with no mention whatsoever of pietas. I can't support this. On a not-unrelated note, this seems to be a pretty straight Servant-ising of the legend, so how on earth do you get a Chaotic alignment out of that? There are other things to mention (every odd thrown spear in epic Classical poetry goes through shields/armour; why not do something slightly different from 'God Hand without resurrections' and what's the condition on that +?, &c.) but those are the ones that really raise an eyebrow.

He also doesn't have Aeneas's Shield in it.

Seriously, there is like a page-long paragraph about how super-speshul-awesum it is, how is it not a NP?

How come a simple auto return effect get a B+ rank?

Also, can you elaborate the piercing power? I cannot imagine it could literally pierces through any barrier or defense, even the NP ones.

I'm sorry to whichever Norse mythology buff I'm going to insult by making these sheets. Rider is genderbent, because why the hell not?

    Class: Rider
    Attribute: Sky
    Alignment: Neutral Good

    STR: C
    AGI: A
    END: D
    MGI: B
    LCK: C
    NP: A+

    Skills:

    Riding: A+
Creatures on the level of Phantasmal Beast and Divine Beast can be used as mounts. However, that does not apply to members of the Dragon Kind.

    Magic Resistance: B
Cancel spells with a chant below three verses. Even if targeted by High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals, it is difficult for Rider to be affected.

    Divinity: B
Rider was acknowledged as the "god of light". Thus, it gives her additional defensive bonuses against Servants with the same affinity. However, the circumstances surrounding her death have lowered her rank in this skill. (Original rank is A)

    Revelation: C
Future events appear in the form of dreams, and may be predicted with certainty.

    Rune Magic: A
Rider was taught by her father the true usage of runes, and so she has mastery over them.

    Noble Phantasms:

Breiðablik: Hall of the Shining One
    Rank: A
    Type: Anti-Unit (Self)
    Range: 1
    Max targets: 1
The embodiment of the event where everything and everyone was compelled by Odin to swear a vow never to hurt Baldr. As a result, Rider is granted full immunity to all concepts that existed before and during her time, as these were already present during the time when the oaths were made. Magecraft from the Age of Gods and legendary weapons of all sorts fail to harm Rider except if they have an affinity for bypassing such. Newer concepts and Heroic Spirits, such as Jack the Ripper, Oda Nobunaga, and Frankenstein's Monster were considered too "young" to be considered as part of the blessing on Baldr, and thus can harm Rider regardless of the Noble Phantasm. This exception is also granted to the mistletoe plant.

    Hringhorni: Twilit Funeral Barge
    Rank: A+
    Type: Anti-Army
    Range: 1-50
    Max targets: 300 people
The god of light's ship, said to be the greatest vessel ever made. It is a skeið longship whose wood is carved with intricate motifs and runes, and whose sail is made from the finest cloth. It would be a formidable sight on the sea, but the lack of soldiers to man it makes it functionally useless aside from providing a means of transport. Its true function is instead carrying the dead as a funeral barge. Once Rider is inside the ship and she invokes its true name, she dies and the ship sets itself on fire on a procession to Hel. All who witness this phenomenon must perform a Luck check. If the check fails, they will be overcome with extreme, irrational grief and jump onto the burning ship. Those who succeed the check, as well as those who possess C rank Magic Resistance or higher will not be affected by the sight, but will have a decrease in parameters in return for not mourning the beloved goddess.

    Lore
Rider is Baldr, the goddess of light and purity in Norse mythology. She is said to be the fairest of all of Odin's children, and her brothers doted on her very much. Her parents loved her very much as well, so much that when she received dreams of her death, they made all of creation swear never to hurt her. Though she did not show it, she was very much saddened by the event. Because of the blessing, she would live a life free of pain, which, to her, was no life worth living. She began to sink deeper into despair when people decided to throw things at her for sport. They laughed and made merry as every missile launched at her refused to hit, inadvertently rubbing into Baldr's face how abnormal her existence was.

But what hurt her the most was the time of her death. Her blind brother, Hod, had become an oblivious tool in Loki's plan, using his handicap to make him murder his sister with a spear made of mistletoe. The shaft flew true, guided by Loki's invisible hand, and struck Baldr in the chest. The pain was sharp, intense, and swift, and Baldr wept, not for herself, but for her brother, who would be sorely punished by the All-Father. She was lain to rest on her ship, Hringhorni, along with her steed and her lover. At that time, her father Odin told her a secret: that all would be renewed, and that pain would no longer exist by the time she rises again. Summoned as a Heroic Spirit, Baldr can only await that promised day.

    Class: Berserker
    Alternate Classes: Lancer
    Attribute: Sky
    Alignment: Lawful Mad

    STR: A (A+)
    AGI: C (B)
    END: B (A)
    MGI: D (C)
    LCK: D (C)
    NP: C

    Skills:

    Mad Enhancement: A+
Rank up for parameters, but most of one's reason is robbed.

    Magic Resistance: C
Cancel spells with a chant below two verses. Cannot defend against Magecraft on the level of High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals. (Berserker's original rank in this skill is B, but it is lowered due to him being placed in the Berserker class)

    Divinity: A
Berserker has been identified as the blind god in Norse mythology, so he has defensive bonuses when he is fighting against Servants with the same attribute.

    Weak Constitution (Blindness): A
A special case of the skill wherein eyesight has been completely sealed. The four other senses are heightened in exchange.

    Instinct: B
Due to living without his sight, Berserker has refined his other senses to compensate for this handicap.

    Noble Phantasm:

    Mistilteinn: Scatterer of Brilliance
    Rank: C
    Type: Anti-Divine
    Range: 1-5
    Max targets: 1 person
A simple wooden spear made of mistletoe. Rather than being crafted or forged, it appears the spear was simply grown from a single plant. It is lightweight and easy to maneuver, making it ideal as a throwing weapon. However, it is not as flimsy at it seems. It has been blessed by the god of mischief, Loki, with numerous enchantments, and it is said his hand still guides the spear towards its target, making underestimating Berserker a fatal mistake. Each and every one of his mad flailings is translated into strikes of deadly precision, and they will not fail to hit the target unless Loki's blessing has been nullified.

However, Mistilteinn's true power lies in its ability to wound even gods. It was the spear specifically crafted to slay the goddess Baldr, so it gains the Anti-Divine classification. Upon making contact with the target's skin, the Noble Phantasm instantly nullifies all Magecraft that renders the target invulnerable, allowing it to even pierce through the skin of one who has bathed in dragon's blood. However, this effect will also disappear once Loki's blessing has been nullified.

    Lore
Berserker is Höðr or Hod, the blind god of Norse mythology, as well as Baldr's brother. Hod was known as the black sheep of all the children of Odin, because his blindness was handicap that prevented him from ever seeing battle. He nursed a strong dislike of Thor, easily the most warlike of his siblings, but the one he envied the most was his sister, Baldr. He had heard all the tales speaking of his sister's beauty, how she was the light that illuminated all of the Nine Worlds. How could she not have spared any of that light for him? Nevertheless, Baldr was the kindest towards her infirm brother, always being a helping hand.

All these things made things worse for Hod on the event of Baldr's death. The trickster, Loki, knew of his secret desires and played upon his infirmity, placing in his hands a spear of mistletoe. Of course, the spear struck true, impaling Baldr in the chest. When Hod heard the screams of his fellow gods, he knew what had happened, and so he ran away, the prime suspect in the murder of the brilliant goddess.

Hod was driven mad by his grief, and so when the half-giant Vali came to exact vengeance over Baldr's death, he willingly offered his life up as penance. As he died, he wept for his sister, whose endless kindness he had repaid in blood.

Höðr appears in the Holy Grail War as either Lancer or Berserker. As a Lancer, Hod would refuse to fight with his spear, because while most Servants' Noble Phantasms are items of pride, his Mistilteinn is an existence closer to a grudge, a reminder of how he had murdered, knowingly or no, his beloved sister.

What about my culture? Almost all of our (nearly nonexistent) mythological literature read like they were written by bad fanfiction authors, and the other half is just flesh-eating bugaboos.

“O son, never again engage in battle with Bhishma or any other Kshatriya. Heroism and courage in battle are the qualities of a Kshatriya, and study of the Vedas and the practice of austerities are the wealth of the Brahmans. Previously you took up weapons to protect the Brahmans, but this is not the case now. Let this battle with Bhishma be your last. O son of the Bhrigu race, it is not possible to defeat Bhishma.”

    Class: Archer (Rider, Lancer, Saber)
    True Name: Bhishma
    Alignment: Lawful Good
    Place of Birth: India
    Original lifetime: 1200~500BC

    STR: A AGI: A++
    END: B MGI: B
    LCK: D NP: B

    Class Skills:

    Independent Action: D

Can remain in the world for one day without a Master. Though this Rank should be higher for such a great Heroic Spirit, Bhishma lives a life of loyalty and not independence, so he does not function as well without a place to pledge his service.

    Magic Resistance: C

Cancels Magecraft of two or less verses.

    Personal Skills:

    Battle Continuation: A++

Bhishma has the mighty boon of being able to choose his own time of death, so as long as he desires to go on, he can keep fighting, overriding even the limits of his Spiritual Core to an extent. He cannot survive complete and total destruction of his corpus, however. His everlasting endurance was what allowed Bhishma to fight on equal ground with Parashurama, the greatest warrior and Avatar of Vishnu, for 23 days.

    Charisma: A-
Though he is a great leader who only a few can compare with, Bhishma has sworn to never rule as a prince or king or regent, so this talent can only be displayed as a general.

    Kalaripayattu: EX
An ancient Indian martial art, invented by Parashurama, Bhishma’s Guru. At this rank, supreme skill with all melee weapons is nothing short of a low standard, as the wise Bhishma was said to be invincible on the field of battle regardless of what weapon he wielded. Legend goes that even Parashurama could not gain any advantage against the incredible power of Bhishma.

    Vyuha: A
The ability to summon the power of Lord Vishnu into soldiers through specific battle formations. By aligning in these formations, the participants are infused with great strength and endurance by the Preserver so long as they hold the formation. While Bhishma’s knowledge of these formations is great, he is above all a field commander and not a tactician, who places the lives of his men in himself and not themselves in hopes of their salvation from the ravages of war, so he prefers not to use this. This skill duplicates as Military Tactics of one Rank lower (B)

    Noble Phantasms:

    A Warrior’s Rest
    Ichcha Mrityu
    : B

A boon given to Bhishma by his father as a gift for the vow of celibacy he took so that his father could remain upon the throne. This is the cursed blessing that led Bhishma to a life of suffering and hard choices, and caused the very conflict that would shake the world to begin with by making Bhishma unable to take the throne.

The boon works on a principle similar to but differently than immortality. So long as Bhishma’s body exists, he can choose when he dies, and though he suffers injury like any mortal man, his life force cannot be snuffed out without his consent. Additionally, wounds seal at an increased rate.

O Dyaus Pita, Lay My Enemy To Rest
    Prashwapastra
    : B

On the 22nd day of battle with Parashurama, the knowledge of this Astra, an arrow possessing the attribute of a god, came to Bhishma suddenly. It is the Astra of Dyaus Pita, a god who Bhishma in truth is an incarnation of. Intending to use it against his Guru, he was ultimately stopped by the visage of Brahma in his Turiya, the pure fourth consciousness great warriors can achieve that allows them to rest as if asleep in the midst of battle. Brahma reasoned that since the weapon would put the great Parashurama to sleep, it would deeply insult his pride and call down the divine wrath of the Supreme Vishnu, so the Astra can be said to be the weapon Bhishma never got to use in his lifetime.

It is an unfailing arrow that cannot miss which immediately lulls the target into a deep, long sleep from which there is no awakening. With the power of his godly visage behind him, Bhishma shoots forth certain rest, though as he is a man of honor, he is likely to not act upon killing his sleeping foe. It is not impossible for heroes of extraordinary will to break the cursed sleep with the aid of two Command Spells, though the ability to avert fate (Luck) can possibly avoid the arrow.

Nice work, Christemo and Nuclear Consensus! Though Nuclear, I figured I'd mention that all the works I've read on the subject list Hod as a famous archer, so maybe he could also do that?

He wasnt really any good, but the legend goes that Loki made an arrow of mistletoe, told Hod to use it and then assisted his aim.
