History:
A one in a million existence. An extreme “If” possibility buried within several other “If” possibilities.
In the proper history of most realities, it is observed that Arthur Pendragon was sent to be raised by the knight Sir Ector, cared for and trained alongside Ector’s own son, Sir Kay. From this, they would learn the skills and way of a knight, forging the first steps to the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table.
This is not that story.
Rather than be sent away to be raised by Sir Ector, the young Artoria had instead been plucked away and raised by her elder sister, Uther Pendragon’s eldest daughter Morgana, who would eventually become known as the Queen of Evil Fairies, Morgan le Fay. The witch perhaps for a brief moment saw the kind of future the two of them would have, and resolved to spare Artoria that cruelty she felt.
“If the world cursed me and called me a demon I would care not, for surely the world is right to do so. But if it spat on her, and called her a soulless dragon with no capacity to understand men's hearts, I'd scream back at it, for certainly it is wrong.” Perhaps that was how she felt then.
The two hid themselves in the realm of Avalon, the land of fairies, perhaps to wait out the troubles of the World, to wait for when the White Dragon finished his rampage and slumbered. Yet fate would still find them, and Artoria was given the same test that would occur on many a parallel world: pull the sword Caliburn from its resting place, marking her the rightful king of Britain and her people. Or to simply sit and watch as they burned before the dragon. She accepted, as she always would, though the reason was perhaps a bit different than others.
“I saw me and my sister smiling. It can't be a mistake.”
She pulled the sword out, as she always would, and it acknowledged her as the rightful king, as it always will. Yet the sword only shined its golden light for mere moments before shattering almost instantly. The chosen king she was, but a proper knight she was not. No shining knight would willingly side with an evil witch, let alone the Queen of Evil Fairies.
Perhaps it was for the best. A dragon witch can't be seen with a holy sword in hand after all.
Personality:
She's a sheltered child, innocent to the ways of the world, only knowing the peace of Avalon for most of her life. She loves to learn about new things from the outside world, and loves trying to use it to make new ways to get her sister’s praise. For the most part she is still similar to the other Lily, and has a need to help every person in need she comes across.
As her magic directly draws on her innate dragon element, it has gotten her to be somewhat temperamental, and may be a bit possessive of things close to her. She also has a bad habit with eating lots of junk food. Please give her a proper meal instead.
She still has no talent dancing with men.
Wish for the Holy Grail:
If she had it, she'd probably just use it to help more people with her magic. A simple desire for a simple girl.
Relationships:
Arthur/Artoria Pendragon:
“‘The King of Knights?” Yes, I suppose that's one thing I can't be now. But it's fine, right? There's already so many of “myself” who are knights, so one of me who is a witch is fine!”
Saber Lily:
“So that's what Caliburn looks like if it had not broken? Seeing it makes me feel… sad. As if it's a beautiful flower waiting to die. But “myself” and I both know-”
“Yes. Taking this sword, seeing those smiling faces, it was certainly not a mistake.”
Knights of the Round Table:
“I vaguely know some of them, but there's a haze around the memories. Perhaps that's for the best. They are not my knights, or maybe never would have, so trying to compare would be unfair to them and “themselves.””
Merlin:
“My sister dislikes him, but he's a very funny person to be around. Sometimes he helps me with my spells, but he gets a bit carried away and bites his tongue when he starts talking too fast.”
Jeanne D’Arc Alter Santa Lily:
“Too much. She's trying way too much. Everyone knows I'm the ultimate evil little sister, so there's no need for a copycat who only shows up once a winter!”
Likes: Tending to animals, listening to big sister
