One more attempt to keep this going and I'm gonna give you a 24 hour temp, Ivan. Really, stop trying to keep this going.
Fine, then.
And here I am, actually starting to get really angry. Thank fuck.
You gotta know when to fold 'em.
Anyway. Me and Spinach were talking about the forum culture and how it's changed over the years. What was your favorite era or kind? Like it used to be way more 4channy.
He never sleeps. He never dies.
Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.
Holy crap that was some good amounts of bans since the last time I was here.
Never was much in touch anyway but wow.
By the way, is Sockpuppeting how people used to change nicks around here?
No, you just post in a thread for it and an admin changes your name. Sock puppeting gets you permabanned.

Except when you cause a chain reaction of sockpuppeting, right?
when people posted in fanfics
(though more specifically, when beam/aiden/moczo were around. lotsa fics around that time, iirc)
Linger: Complete. August, 1995. I met him. A branch off Part 3. Mikiya keeps his promise to meet Azaka, and meets again with that mysterious girl he once found in the rain.
Shinkai: Set in the Edo period. DHO-centric. As mysterious figures gather in the city, a young woman unearths the dark secrets of the Asakami family.
The Dollkeeper: A Fate side-story. The memoirs of the last tuner of the Einzberns. A record of the end of a family.
Overcount 2030: Extra x Notes. A girl with no memories is found by a nameless soldier, and wakes up to a world of war.
I remember Beam and Moczo from my lurking days.
Still disappointed Beam didn't do steamy action. Loved her prose, but not enough to follow her on tumblr.
She got eaten by RWBY didn't she?
I miss those days when I could actually write romantic fanfiction that I felt satisfying to write and release.

Seika moderates: modly clarifications, explanations, Q&A, and the British conspiracy to de-codify BL's constitution.
Democracy on Beast's Lair
The more lore that comes out, the less people are inclined to go "what if" maybe.
Alternatively we aren't exactly kind to power fantasy writers who just want to have Shirou solo everything, and deeper or introspective character piece writers are fewer and farther between.

Their worth (life) ends when humans can no longer bear that purity.
I love the period right after new BL showed up (which is when I joined) and before the MEMEBOYS arrived. No one got banned for being an ass except Mike, who deserved it, people weren't afraid to say dumb shit and be silly, tons of great fanfics were being written and we all laughed at terrible authors together, irony wasn't a thing, and basically it was all was cool and interesting. Of course, it was a shitty time for RP compared to today, where you can actually join a roleplay and expect it to not die within the month, so it's not all black and white.

also GO wasn't being a tumor on the fandom, that too
I never got that vibe.
Well maybe because I was never on 4chan.
I would say the debates used to be a lot more exhausting, eg blastedspider.
Also "we don't know so please wait" has become a valid answer to questions. Rather than people trying to force their headcanon into that and then other people trying to tear that headcanon apart.
Which is good in some areas and not so good in others.
