It's definitely a different sort of marketing for Pokemon but I thought it was cool. I'm intrigued about what he saw.
I just wish there was even the slightest bit visually to work with. The super dark static's not a fun watch.

Tangentially related observation but Snorunt is the only identifiable Pokémon in the video which can only be found in Sinnoh naturally on Routes 216 and 217 which is where you get the Spell Tag for boosting Ghost Type moves and considering the Found Footage nature of the trailer it suggests whatever it turns out to be will be a Ghost Type 'mon at least.

I was thinking maybe Froslass, but that ain't worth a whole reveal. A Ghost-type Hisuian Zorua would be interesting, both in-game and competitively.
A lot of people are guessing Hisuian Zorua but the Blair Witch esque framing makes me think it's a spooky new legendary
