Shroud of Marseilles
Type: Anti-Unit
Rank: B
Range: 1
Max Target: 1
A powerful Mystic Code that belongs to Ruler. A normal shroud that he was buried in, becoming a Holy Shroud upon his resurrection. An article of clothing that was directly exposed to the afterlife and a Divine Spirit’s magic touch, it has been appropriately infused with a large well of power.
It is a shroud of transference, as each thread has accumulated the power of both the living and the land of the dead. When bound between two objects, it allows for the free transferral of energy and even concepts between the two. Ruler mostly uses it as a hassle-free way to utilize his Embodied Miracle skill without constantly having to cut himself, but the applications are many. Attributes, alignments, traits, prana, and most everything else of an equal or lesser skill can be exchanged. However, the shroud is prone to tearing so overuse should be cautioned against.
Offensively, the shroud can be wrapped entirely around a target to form a complete “circuit” of transference. Resuming its function as a bridge between the afterlife and the living, doing so has a small chance to instantly kill the target. Think a person touching a telephone wire versus a bird standing on one.
Though he’s summoned wearing a cloak, this is not actually the Shroud of Marseille. Because of its flimsy nature and in solidarity with his sister Mary who washed Jesus’ feet with her hair, he wears it bound around his right leg.
Lazarus Taxon
Though I be the Life and the Death
Type: Anti-Unit (Self)
Rank: A+
Range: 0
Max Target: 1
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;
And whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
A Noble Phantasm that doesn’t rely on Ruler’s own power as much as it does the power of his faith. So long as Ruler remains as devout to Christ as when he was summoned, he will return from the dead after being killed. The only ways to circumvent Lazarus Taxon are to force Ruler to fall under the spell of an appropriately ranked mental pollution or kill him with an A++ or greater ranked Noble Phantasm.
If Ruler’s Master has accepted Christ as his savior, Ruler can giftwrap this Noble Phantasm to his Master in exchange for not being able to enjoy its benefits himself.
