Wow, Santo....I fell sad for a lack of better words but that sadness changed into a disturbing revelation especially during the consummation of their marriage.
'Kotomine is watching you making love' or some sort of similar meme but can't quite recall.
Teasing the Penguin God!
That snippet was great Santo. Oh so delicious suffering

Glad to see you put it up. To be honest, I was kinda honored when you asked me to Beta. I haven't done so in a while, and I the last time I did was for someone whose story and grammatical capabilities were...lacking. These days, all I proof are reports, which are about as enjoyable as cutting one's wrists with a butter knife. Doing this was both a lot of fun and a breath of fresh air!
I really like it when people really dig into a character, and Kotomine is extremely fascinating as a villain. Having a man who falls into darkness rather than one who we just accept as inherently evil is always great to read, and that fall itself is perhaps the best part.
I like how you play off his mindset using the inner demon who manages to break Kotomine by doing almost nothing but talk. The fight mechanics themselves aren't something that I really dove into, since they're mostly there to communicate an inner war rather than actually mattering as a physical one, but they do remarkably well in both cases. The final scene is my one gripe at this point, as Claudia's death feels a bit more like an extra punch at something that had already been established rather than the final fall from grace and the last lap kinda meandered a bit.
Overall, a great story, one that I had a lot of fun with, both as an editor and as a reader. Hope the contest goes well!
And I'll hold you to that beer...once I'm no longer sick that is.
......wow....... just....... wow..........
dat zetsubou
Really a beautiful fic, Santo; Kirei's always been a more interesting character to me than, say, Gilgamesh or Roa or Zouken because rather than slide into monstrousness due to his bad choices, he always was a monster and didn't want to be one. The story shows how it was stripped away, layer by layer. I wonder, though--given Caren's reaction, are we supposed to take the manifestation of Kirei's future self as something literally demonic?

Think she was reacting to AM heart?

2nd place in Drama. I think 3rd place overall...maybe, don't feel like checking my math right now. ^_^
Don't know what a zetsubou is.
But this makes me feel accomplishment. ^c^
Glad you liked it. ^_^
Kirei is my third favorite character in the Fate Franchise.
I always love delving into his head.

I'll take that as a yes.

Hmm~ that was in it's own way quite fluffy Santo......![]()
I thought the moments with baby Caren had some fluffiness in them, though with Kotomine it's always "what could have been" rather than "what is." Of course, it's sad fluff with needles of angst inside that poke your skin when you rub against it, but still and all... Good story; I gave it a rec.

Wut?
Ahhh. I see.
Kaaaay.
Seconded. >,>
I've always loved the idea of what Kirei could have been.
Although I'll admit. With the Caren scene, I was trying to go for creepy. xD
Real glad you like it though. ^_^
