I always thought RWBY would go on for years and years like Red vs Blue, and there would be all sorts of changes as time went on. Now it's going to be up in the air in regards to how long it's going to go and what direction it'll head.
They just finished a podcast talking about fond memories about Monty, it was awesome and heartbreaking at the same time.

I was hopeful after the crowdfunding for his medical bills had so much turnout.
Whatever people say about the quality of RWBY, there's no denying that the guy had passion for his work above and beyond. There aren't enough people like that in the industry. He'll be missed dearly.

I still can't believe it. I'm still hoping that this is just a bad dream and tomorrow I'll wake up and I'll see something about Monty having recovered.
He was the one that inspired me to become a 3d animation artist. I'm learning right now, but one day I'll made a tribute to him. It will probably be in 5 years, 10 years, but I swear that I WILL do it, no matter what.
RIP Monty, and thanks for all your hard work.

In retrospect, the Japanese fanart anthology that's been released recently feels very much like a tribute to Monty. Rest in peace, Mr. Oum.
