This is awful. Worse than Titan Abridged even.
E: maybe not quite as bad as their non-DBZ lps?

Yeah that's me, known believer in FF perfection.
Well the thing is a lot of complaints about the series boil down to 'not muh character', like the series does not get the original characterization and sort of forgetting this is an abridged series. Cloud here is such a liability due to all the crap that happens in his backstory (Or at least that's the logical explanation), Barette's 'angry black man' persona is played up a bit more, and Tifa's... Tifaness is dialed up to eleven. All of which is for comedy. And a lot of the jokes I like poke so much fun at the annoying game mechanics which I appreciate.
Also, I found it absolutely HILARIOUS that the expected badass of the game (and franchise) has become the in-series version of Krillin.

Sick and Original digs at this 1997 PS1 game, with all the timing and grace of a 2002 Newgrounds animation.
I love DBZ Abridged but this is mostly just annoying. Especially with how much Taka hyped it up.

Two short episodes released so far, some hate for it and some love for it. Kind of in the middle, some jokes I thought were funny, some I didn't.
The Cloud f@&ked up joke will never stop being funny.

It got old by the end of the first episode.
I'm going to agree with Rodyle on this. This was a pretty poor way to start a series.
Most of the jokes are some spin of "everybody hates Cloud," about half the remainder are spins of "Cloud whining about it," and at the end of the day, none of these characters are even close to likable.

Someone did say something that kinda makes sense to me. They seem to be abridging both canon and fandom perceptions of the characters. Fandom thinks of Cloud as a stoic emo guy and not a cocky bastard, so here he's whiny and tries to be cocky but fails to back it up. Aerith is thought to be strong and independent by the fandom rather than thoughtful, so that fandom perception of her is dialed up. Barrett is so ridiculous already that they don't need to do much other than crank up 'angry black man'.
then again I can understand that the jokes are not everyone's cup of tea.

OK so I didn't pay attention to this but it turns out instead of the usual DBZA writing team of Kaiser, Lani, and Taka, FF7 drops Kaiser and Lani for Antfish.
Mystery solved.
I'm going to have to agree with Rodyle on this one. I was done by the five minute mark of the first episode. It's awful, and that's not because FF7 is sacred to me. It's just not funny. Didn't even chuckle.
Huh. Weird.
Antfish knocked it out of the park with Jojo Abridged. A pity Phantom Blood has stopped dead in its tracks so he could work on something as bad as this.

The only thing that holds up about Jojo Abridged is Tim Curry Dio really.
Boo.Look, people aren't going to be agreeing on this one.
The only episode of JoJo Abridged I liked was the epilogue with Dio's time machine. I also like some of the spinoff stuff he did about the manga.
I personally found Phantom Blood Abridged to be rushed. It moves too fast for any of the jokes to really sink in.
As for this, I'll admit I don't care for it too much, but that might just be because I've never played FF7 so I don't have anything to base this on. And I won't think too much about it so long as people don't start complaining saying that it's cutting into DBZA (it isn't. KaiserNeko does the editing for DBZA. MasakoX does the editing for FF7MA)
But to defend the editing, it's siginificantly more difficult to do editing with 3D models than 2D drawings.
